in the au, i thought of tatsumi port island being an island that's somewhere close to paldea, kinda like kitakami. due to that they have some big relations and thus do the same [or similar enough] teaching style at gekkokan, mainly the treasure hunt! ryoji is a mysterious transfer student who joins gekkokan high just before the treasure hunt and ends up tagging along with makoto on his hunt.

i thought of ryoji's deal in this au as him being an avatar for yveltal... since this is somewhat aligned with pkmn canon, i thought it'd be interesting if he "awakened" after the events of x/y in order to watch over the world in yveltal's stead. also i love the kalos region and i think more of it should be explored ok... pls dont kill me <3

oh also!!! if you must know!!!!! SEES are the specialized extracurricular ecology squad this time around! their deal is to study the pokemon of tatsumi port / the nearby wilderness and protect them against strange, powerful pokemon which have been appearing recently, which they call shadow pokemon. yknow those cool shadow pkmn from the colosseum games? yeah basically that!

ryoji's "main" team consists of marshadow, absol and togetic. his "final" team would be the one he uses once everyone finds out he's the avatar of destruction lol

i picked most of these based off of dex entries! im a huge nerd. idk what else to say about this au other than shinji is still alive and kotone is there because i love her. she is offscreen for the ryomina stuff tho
