Ardyn x Upset Reader

Alright, so I decided to do a little kingly clash au Ardyn x Reader post so I hope you guys enjoy it and yeah… sorry for ooc Ardyn.

You sat up in yours and your husband, Ardyn Lucis Caelum's, bed as you heard a baby crying beside you. You flinched as your body ached after what you had gone through a few hours ago and looked over to a bassinet beside your shared bed to see that one of your twins had woken up. You quietly grabbed the baby and brought it close to you, the baby stopped crying and looked at you, you couldn’t help but tiredly smile at the small bundle in your arms as you took in its features. It was a baby boy with features like his father and his hair color but the baby had your beautiful e/c eyes. On the flipside the baby boys twin sister had features like yours, your h/c hair and Ardyn’s eyes. They were born only a few hours ago and while you were enjoying a moment with your husband and your twins, your husband had to leave and while you knew how strong he was, you worried that it would be the last time you saw him. He had a job to do and you knew that it had to be done since darkness reigned in the world right now. You and Ardyn had spoken lots about the moment he was going to have to leave your side throughout your pregnancy as he had revealed to you so long ago as to who and what he was and how he was fated to fight the king of light. You never once expected it to be so close to after you had given birth to your twins though.

“It’s okay little ones, I’ll make sure to protect you… the both of you if your father ends up passing away” you quietly vowed to the twins as you snapped from your thoughts as the baby girl now began to cry from the bassinet. You put the baby boy onto your bed and picked up the baby girl from the bassinet, she too had almost instantly calmed down as you held her in your arms. You weren’t quite sure if this was because they might have some daemonic properties in them or not but you did know that you’d have to hide that part of them if the king of light won as the light would return to the world and would hurt your twins. As time slowly went on, you put your daughter beside your son on the bed and admired them just staring at you with bright, innocent eyes. You would do anything to protect them and could only wish that you could have the whole family together. You eventually heard footsteps coming closer to the room and you looked out the window to the outside briefly and could still see that it was dark out. You looked to your room door and after what felt like forever the knob on the door turned and you held your breath. As the door opened up you braced yourself for the king of light to come in and see who was here but to your relief, Ardyn came into the room. His clothes were fairly dirty though, his face was dirty and he looked exhausted, he smiled as he saw you.

“Hello my queen” he greeted in a tired but loving voice, you felt tears in your eyes as he approached you and the twins.

“Oh my gosh… Ardyn my love, are you alright?” you asked, Ardyn sat down on the bed beside you and put his right arm around your shoulders and pulled you close to him.

“Better than alright… I have killed the so called king of light and his retinue and now… now we can live in the darkness peacefully forever my love. I can treat you like the queen you are meant to be and we can be together like this as a family” Ardyn replied. You let out a sigh of relief as you heard those words fall from your husband’s mouth. You had thought that things were going to go sour but, you were thankfully wrong.

“I’m so glad to see that you’re still alive my king as I was afraid that our kids would grow up without knowing their father” you admitted as the tears finally slipped from your eyes and went down your cheeks. Ardyn unwrapped his arm from around you, held your face in his rough but gentle hands and gently kissed at the tears running down your face before gently kissing your lips.

“I did everything I could to ensure my victory today for the sake of our family and I knew that it wouldn’t fail, not when I have someone to live for now” Ardyn stated. You nodded and the twins began to make some noises, Ardyn released your face and you both looked down at the bed to see that the twins were looking at you both with wide eyes.

“You two are so precious” you mumbled as you picked up the baby boy while Ardyn picked up the baby girl.

“You’re just as precious my love as without you, they wouldn’t be here” Ardyn said.

“It takes two to tango as they are part you as well” you reminded, Ardyn chuckled.

“That is true… on a more serious note though, did you think of some possible names for our little ones while I was away?” Ardyn asked, you nodded and leaned against Ardyn as you began to feel quite tired again.

“Yes, I was thinking of the name Crystal for the baby girl and the name Raeric for the baby boy” you replied, Ardyn looked thoughtful.

“I do like those names, very well, the girl shall be Crystal Lucis Caelum and the boy shall be Raeric Lucis Caelum” Ardyn agreed.

“I thought you’d have a different opinion on the baby names ” you quietly admitted, Ardyn chuckled and you felt a light pulse of magic radiate from him that was quite calming.

“I’m not the best when it comes to names my love while you have a knack for giving out good names” Ardyn countered, you blush at that.

“Thank you my love” you thanked, Ardyn chuckles.

“No, thank you for staying by my side my love” Ardyn countered, you smile.

“I will always be by your side” you promise.

Here I am again with another Ardyn x Reader post. Decided to go with a drunk reader on this one, Ardyn is still probably going to be OOC but hey, the Reader is drunk soooo, yeah. Please enjoy!

You downed another drink with ease as you spoke with your friends at the table you were sitting at for the Niflheim Christmas ball. You were invited to come here with a friend and you gladly accepted the invitation as you’d never been to a ball in the grand hall before and wanted to make a good impression on your friend as you’ve had your eyes on him for quite awhile. He wasn’t around right now though as he was called away to talk to Emperor Aldercapt about some important matters regarding the empire. You tried not to be disappointed by this as you had plenty of friends here already since they worked in the palace but it had been quite awhile since your friend left and you had now downed several drinks.

“Hey, y/n, you should slow down a bit as you’ve been drinking quite a bit ever since you got here” your one friend, Tanisha, stated, you gave her a polite smile.

“I’m fine, beshides, I’m enjoying myshelf” you slurred as you poured yourself another glass of wine.

“I don’t think the Chancellor will be happy if he comes back and sees you drunk though” your other friend, Zeliek, pointed out, you waved your hand dismissively at him.

“He’sh the one who left me here with you guysh while talking to the emperor sho he can blame himshelf if he gets back to the table” you countered with a hint of frustration in your tone.

“You can’t blame him either as he’s the Chancellor of Niflheim which makes him a very busy man” Tanisha shot back.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know he’sh a busy guy but he’sh the one who invited me” you mumbled.

“I didn’t quite catch that y/n” Zeliek noted, you went to repeat what you said but the Chancellor came up to the table and sat down beside you.

“My apologies for that y/n the emperor took up a fair bit more of my time than I would have liked” Ardyn apologized.

“It’sh okay, I’ve jusht been hanging out with my friendsh here” you slurred as you downed the glass of wine in your hand. Ardyn let out a sigh and as you reached for the bottle of wine to pour yourself another drink, Ardyn quickly snatched it and put it to where you couldn’t reach it.

“It seems like I took far too long as you’re drunk” Ardyn noted in an unamused tone.

“We did try to convince her to slow down Chancellor, but… she stubbornly refused to listen to us” Zeliek said, you shrugged.

“I alsho told you guysh that I wash just enjoying myshelf” you quickly put in, feeling a bit annoyed that this conversation was happening in front of you.

“This isn’t exactly the best way to enjoy yourself at a party like this though” Tanisha pointed out, you rolled your eyes. Does it really matter how you enjoy yourself?

“Allow me to handle this as it is my fault for being away a bit too long” Ardyn stated as he stood back up before you could say anything else.

“What do you mean by that Chancellor?” Zeliek asked, Ardyn said nothing as he held out his right hand to you, you stared at it and then looked at him.

“Come with me y/n” Ardyn said in a low tone of voice, you didn’t reach out and take his hand.

“I’m not going anywhere with you right now” you mumbled in a rather short tone, Ardyn sighed and lowered his hand.

“You’re leaving me no choice but to carry you out then” Ardyn noted, you snorted while Zeliek and Tanisha stared wide eyed.

“You wouldn’t dare it” you spat, Ardyn smirked.

“Oh, but I do dare it as your current state is from my lack of attentiveness towards you” Ardyn countered as he leaned down and picked you up bridal style from the chair you were in. You let out an undignified squeak as his strength was more than you expected as you weren’t exactly the lightest person here and your arms went around Ardyn’s neck as you felt like you were going to fall as the room spun a little bit.

“Thatsh not fair… put me down” you demanded in a low voice so as not to attract anymore attention than you have as the people at the tables around you, were looking over curiously to see what was going on.

“Only once we are away from here” Ardyn stated and then left the hall with you in his arms, you crossed yours arms and felt a bit conflicted. On one hand Ardyn just ruined your fun time drinking but on the other hand, his attention was now on you.

“You really are shomething elshe right now, you left me to drink and then jusht take me away from my friendsh” you finally slurred after a few moments of silence.

“My apologies y/n, it was truly not my intention to leave you for so long” Ardyn said, you took a deep breath.

“You already apologized, jusht… put me down” you noted, Ardyn shook his head.

“Absolutely not, you are in no condition to be walking, besides, carrying you gives me a reason to tell people you are unwell and I am taking you home” Ardyn stated, you felt stunned.

“Didn’t you want to shtay?” you asked, Ardyn chuckled.

“As much as I like the spotlight, I dislike parties like this where I am unable to enjoy myself because I need to work instead of spending time with the ones I invite” Ardyn replied, you thought about his words carefully. Ardyn is quite a bit different than you initially thought and it feels nice to know that he wasn’t exactly fond of parties like this.

“I shee” you mumbled, silence fell between you two again and soon, Ardyn had walked you into an office.

“This is my office, it should be quiet enough here for us to enjoy a few drinks together if you’d still like to drink a bit” Ardyn noted, breaking the silence as he put you onto a chair, went over to his desk and pulled out a bottle of wine and two glasses. You smiled at him, you never thought that Ardyn of all people would have alcohol in his office, let alone wine glasses.

“Ishn’t it a bad idea to keep alcohol in your office?” you asked.

“I don’t think it is, not when I need a drink before some meeting as they can be a bore fest, now would you like some more wine?” Ardyn asked.

“Yesh pleashe” you replied, Ardyn poured wine into the two glasses and handed you one, you took it and you clinked glasses together before downing your drinks. Ardyn refilled the glasses and the two of you began to chat about life, it wasn’t until the bottle of wine was finished and you felt truly ill that you wanted to do nothing more than sleep it all off.

“Are you alright y/n?” Ardyn asked as you struggled to even sit upright at this point.

“I-I think I should head out and get home sho that I can go to bed” you truthfully replied, Ardyn smiled as he stood up from the chair he was in and came over to you.

“Allow me to take you home then” Ardyn offered, you shook your head.

“You’ve been drinking too” you pointed out, Ardyn’s smile grew.

“Oh my dear sweet little bird, alcohol hardly phases someone like me” Ardyn shot back, you went to protest but Ardyn leaned down and silenced you and your thoughts with a brief kiss. Your mind reeled from this and you were certain that this wasn’t quite real, when Ardyn pulled away you felt a sense of longing.

“Ardyn.. I… you…” you mumbled, unable to form a proper sentence.

Back again with a random idea of Ardyn being with a neko reader. A bit of a master pet dynamic (just a hint) I guess, anyways hope you enjoy and I’m sorry about Ardyn being OOC.

You happily walked around your apartment with your ears and tail out as you cleaned your space, feeling relieved that you got the day off from work. The past week has been stressful and having to hide your ears and tail under different articles of clothing and hats is difficult over long periods of time. You knew you could probably have them showing but neko’s such as yourself were extremely rare in Eos and most times people took advantage of a neko by making them a prized possession of sorts to show off. It reminds you of a rich person showing off their latest accessory or gadget. Your ear twitched slightly as you could hear someone moving through the apartment hallways outside of your door again as it had been happening all morning. You shook your head and the bell attached to the collar around your neck jingles a little bit, you hated hearing all of the little noises but there wasn’t much you could do until your lease was up and you could find a new place to live. It wouldn’t be much longer now either, which was nice, as your one neko friend was willing to let you crash with her right after your lease was up. She was actually coming over today to talk to you about it a little bit more and it won’t be long before she shows up. As if on cue, there was a knock on your door and you put your stuff down before you happily made your way over to the door and opened it up, your stomach dropped as it wasn’t your friend at the door bit your boss, Ardyn Izunia. He seemed a little stunned as he took in your appearance and you bit your lower lip, what the hell is he doing here?

“What brings you here Chancellor?” you asked in an uneasy tone.

“I was coming by to see if you had accidentally put some of my papers into your bag as I happen to be missing some important papers after you left yesterday” Ardyn replied as he looked at your (h/c) ears and tail. You hesitated briefly, wondering why he wouldn’t try to text you instead of just showing up as he now sees you for what you truly are.

“I can check… why don’t you come inside though as I don’t need someone else to see me or wonder why you’re here” you suggested as you let Ardyn into your apartment and closed the door behind him. You quickly went off to your bedroom and grabbed your work bag before returning to your living room and going through your bag in front of Ardyn.

“This is a rather modest place for a neko to have” Ardyn noted as he looked around your apartment, you said nothing back as you found some important looking papers in your bag. You felt your cheeks turn red as you pulled them out and handed them over to Ardyn.

“Here you are Chancellor and I’m sorry about accidentally taking them, my brain must have been in Friday mode when I went to leave” you apologized, Ardyn gently took the papers and gave you a smile.

“It’s quite alright (y/n) I think we’ve all done something silly on our Friday’s, besides, this was worth the trip as I’ve not seen a neko in quite awhile” Ardyn noted as he purposefully tapped your collars bell, making in ring a little bit.

“Yes, well I ask that you please keep this to yourself as I believe the empire would use me as an accessory to show off or some sort of pet” you stated.

“I won’t say a thing but there is something I want in return then… a trade of sorts” Ardyn said as he put the papers down, you swallowed nervously. You could say no but at the same time you need the job you have and you want to keep a low profile, you sighed as the answer was obvious.

“Very well, what do you want?” you asked, Ardyn smiled.

“Whenever you and I are alone I want you to look just like this, tail and ears showing with that adorable collar around your neck and in return, I’ll keep your little secret, do you agree my little kitten?” Ardyn asked as he stroked your right cheek with the back of his left hand. His touch sent an odd sensation through your body that was one you loved but hated because it was gentle and yet dominating.

“There’s more to this than your saying Chancellor” you replied, Ardyn chuckled.

“You’re as observant as ever… yes, I do have another agenda but I promise that your secret would not be revealed” Ardyn admitted, your (e/c) eyes met his golden ones.

“You have to tell me what it is or I won’t agree to your deal” you stated, Ardyn's left hand went to your collar and he put his index finger under it and pulled at it a little bit.

“You will be mine my little kitten and will do what I ask without question” Ardyn said in a rather quiet tone. You felt a rock in your stomach  of course he was going to use you as having a neko makes anyone look good.

“You do realize that I’m heavily debating as to whether or not this is a good idea or not, correct?” you asked, Ardyn took a step closer to you and without warning he leaned into your right ear.

“Ah, but you do realize that your choices are limited and that at any point this could backfire on you… make the smart choice kitten or I’ll be forced to do something you may not appreciate” Ardyn whispered with a hint of a threatening tone in his voice. Your ear twitched as his hot breath in your ear sent a jolt through your system, your ears were always quite sensitive and you loved it when someone blew on your ears for some odd reason.

“Ch-chancellor, please don’t do that” you breathed in shock, Ardyn chuckled again.

“Please, just call me Ardyn my little kitten and accept my proposal” Ardyn stated as he moved down to your neck, your eyes widened as you realized that he was going to mark you to make you his pet.

“Ardyn, you can’t just…” you trailed off, unable to find the right words.

“Oh but I can and if you’d like to keep your secret safe, I suggest you accept” Ardyn said, you sighed and felt tears in your eyes.

“Fine, you win” you reluctantly agreed, Ardyn smiled and pulled away from your neck, you looked at him in confusion as he let go of your collar.

“Good, I shall see you in my office in a few days and please… if it’s just us, call me Ardyn” Ardyn stated, you nodded and he left your apartment. You stood there in shock, he calls you little kitten and did all that, just to never make you his pet. Was that his intention or is he planning something else? You shook your head to clear your thoughts, it’s no use worrying about it at this point as you’ve got a friend coming over soon.

2 Months later

You entered Ardyn’s office with some papers and removed your hat to show your ears while pulling your tail out of your pants and taking off your turtleneck sweater to show your collar. Ardyn smiled as you approached him and your tail twitched nervously, you’ve been doing this for two months now and you’re finding that Ardyn is quite charming for a human. He does, however, rub you the wrong way by calling you ‘little kitten’ whenever it’s just the two of you.

“Here’s the papers from Ravus you requested Ardyn” you noted as you put the papers in your hand onto the desk.

“Thank you my little kitten, may I please get you to file these away for me?” Ardyn asked as he patted a stack of papers on his desk.

“Of course you can” you replied as you grabbed the stack, went over to the cabinet behind Ardyn and began to file the papers away, as you did so though Ardyn’s hands touched your tail and you jolted as you looked at him and he looked amused.

“Oh my, I didn’t mean to startle you little kitten, I was simply curious as to how soft your tail was” Ardyn said in a not so innocent tone.

“A neko’s ears are far softer than their tail and we typically hate our tails being touched” you explained as you moved your tail away from his hands, he lifted as eyebrow and stood up.

“Are they now? I must test this myself” Ardyn stated as he lifted his hands and gently rubbed your ears, it felt… good as he rubbed your ears and you slowly began to fall into a state where you felt, safe.

“Ardyn… that feels nice” you mumbled in a calm, content tone.

“I know my little kitten, I’m not nearly as uneducated about neko’s as you seem to think” Ardyn quietly said as he leaned forward and breathed into your right ear. You let out a small gasp as the urge to want him as your master began to rise, he didn’t look it but he was extremely gentle with you and has kept your secret.

“Master… please let me be your pet” you breathed without a second thought.

“Oh my little kitten, you’ve been my pet for quite awhile now” Ardyn mumbled as he went down to your neck and gently bit it. You did nothing as he made you his pet and as he released you and stopped touching your ears, your mind began to clear up. A sense of dread followed as you realized that your instincts had betrayed you and you were now Ardyn’s pet and he was your master.

“I… you…” you faltered in your sentence as Ardyn grabbed your collar and sat down in his office chair.

“Your master is demanding that you come sit on his lap” Ardyn demanded, you did as he asked and without missing a beat, Ardyn pulled your collar close to him and your lips met. A jolt went through your system now as you realized that he wanted this the whole time, a master and pet relationship where you would be his and only his. You’d be unable to say no now as he had marked you and you were his pet, his play toy, his… little kitten. Ardyn broke off the kiss and released your collar, the belly letting out a soft jingle as his fingers gently brushed it.

“What do you plan to do now?” you asked, Ardyn grinned at you.

Hey all, decided to do a bit of a softer Ardyn scenario with a pregnant reader as I could honestly see Ardyn having a softer side when it comes to his s/o and any kids he may have. Anyways, he will probably be a bit ooc still, anyways, enjoy!

You shifted uncomfortably on yours and Ardyn's couch as your swollen belly moved a bit due to the twins moving around. It was just you in the house at the moment and you were relaxing as much as you could while Ardyn was out getting you both some lunch. You had hoped he would return soon though as the twins were starting to move around and they always seemed to calm down whenever their father was touching your swollen belly. You smiled and put a hand on your swollen belly as you knew that despite your pregnancy with the twins was a surprise, you’d all be okay as Ardyn was over the moon about becoming a father and would do anything for you. The door to your house opened up and you looked over to see Ardyn coming in with some bags full of food. There was a light sprinkle of snow on his hat and coat but it didn’t seem to bug him as he saw you and smiled brightly.

“Hello my pregnant little bird, did you miss me?” Ardyn asked as he put the food onto the table beside him and then brush the snow off of his hat, your smile widened.

“The twins and I both missed you my love” you replied in a soft, motherly tone, Ardyn put his hat onto a nearby coat hook and made his way over to you. The twins began to move more and your belly visibly moved, Ardyn chuckled as he kneeled down in front of you and rested his head against your swollen belly and touched your belly with his right hand.

“You two need to calm down and let your mother rest” Ardyn quietly cooed, the twins only began to kick more and Ardyn’s smile grew.

“They usually calm down when they hear you but it looks like they want to do the opposite today” you gently said.

“It certainly seems that way” Ardyn noted as his head was moved due to the twins pushing against him. You both sat in a comfortable silence as it’s not often you get to sit quietly like this since you prefer to be moving around and doing something.

“You know, it won’t be too much longer before we get to meet our little ones” you said after a moment, breaking the comfortable silence in the air.

“I look forward to the day we get to meet them since it was such a shock that not only did you get pregnant but it was with twins” Ardyn noted, you nodded.

“It was quite a shock but this gives us a chance for a boy and a girl” you pointed out, Ardyn chuckled.

“Is that what you’re hoping we get?” he asked, you thought about it for a moment and then smiled.

“Yes, I’d love a boy and a girl but… if we get two boys or two girls, I wouldn’t mind that either” you replied.

“ I feel the same way but having a boy and a girl would be nice” Ardyn admitted as he got up and walked back over to the bag of food on the table and picked it up.

“Perhaps we should start talking about some baby names for when the twins finally decide to arrive” you noted, trying not to ask about getting the food in the bag right away.

“We can chat about it over some lunch as I do believe both you and our little ones need some nutrition” Ardyn stated, you nodded and Ardyn came over with the bag of food and sat down beside you. He opened up the bag and pulled out a container of ambrosia, you felt joy shoot through your body as you’d been craving ambrosia for the longest time but couldn’t find it anywhere.

“Ardyn, where did you find this?” you asked, Ardyn chuckled.

“That is a secret my pregnant little bird as I’d rather be the only one grabbing this for you as the twins have been putting you through quite a bit” Ardyn replied. You quietly agreed with Ardyn there, you’ve had some awful morning sickness throughout your pregnancy and have had to leave work on an early maternity leave as you’ve passed out a few times at work. It didn’t help that you were anemic and the twins were needing a lot more nutrition than you had thought.

“I know you’re right but I’m not totally helpless when it comes to getting myself food” you pointed out as Ardyn gave you the container of ambrosia and a fork.

“Ah but it’s a gentleman’s job to tend to his wife’s needs, especially if she’s pregnant with his children” Ardyn countered.

You silently swam around the ocean with no particular place in mind, your blue tail glimmering ever so slightly as you were close to the surface. It’s been quite awhile since you were this close to the surface and while you’ve been warned to keep away due to pirates beginning to hunt for sirens, you couldn’t help but tempt fate as the surface was quite beautiful in its own way. Besides, you knew what ships looked like and you would stay away from those and the nets that were cast down from them. You began to hum a low tune and different kinds of fishes began to gather around you. You found it calming to swim with the different kinds of fishes that were in the ocean and even sharks made great companions to swim with. You swam around for quite a bit and a boat soon appeared in the distance. You paused with what you were doing and all of the fish scattered, you quickly swam down only to end up hitting some sort of invisible wall. You immediately swam to the sides only to hit more invisible walls your e/c eyes widened as you heard something close above you, you swam up but it was already too late, you were trapped in some sort of box that had invisible walls. You wanted to wail but knew that it would be in vain as no one would be able to hear you. The boat began to approach you and once it’s shadow was cast over you, a claw like mechanism attached to chains came down into the water, scaring any remaining fish away. The claw grabbed onto whatever hellish box you were in and began to pull you up. Your heart began to hammer in your chest as you collided on any side of the box you were in, hoping to wiggle free as you didn’t want to die or whatever it is the pirates do after they’ve hunted down and caught their prey. Your struggles did nothing though as the claw broke the surface and you were hauled out of the water in what you could now clearly see was a glass box of some sort. The box was put over the deck of the ship and you were gently lowered down, some pirates came over and they looked pleased with themselves.

“We got one captain!” an older looking man stated in a joyful tone as he patted the top of your box.

“Let me see it” a voice demanded, an older looking, man with one eye came up and grinned as he saw you in the box.

“What do you want to ddo with it captain?” a younger looking man asked, the older man with one eye looked at you with his one grey eye and his grin turned into a rather malicious looking grin. You pushed yourself into the corner of the box, feeling fearful as the man looked evil, was he going to kill you and take your tail?

“Put it into my quarters fer now, we’ll then make fer land and sell it fer a pretty coin, our only other option is to kill it and take the tail to sell” the older man replied. A couple of men picked up your box and took you through a door on deck to where a room was. They set your box down and left without another word, you looked around the room and saw nothing more then a bed, a table with a map on it and some sort of heavy looking ball nearby. You’d seen pirate ships use them to take each other out before and an idea formed in your head and while it seemed unlikely to work, you had no other choice. You felt the boat begin to move and you studied the way it moved before pushing against the walls of the box you were in when the box slightly shifted towards the ball. The progress was painfully slow but you slowly began to go towards the object you wanted. The boat suddenly rattled violently though and you could hear yelling from outside, the ball move from its place and began to roll freely around the room. You quickly realized that the ball had been on a stand to keep it from rolling as it sounded heavy and could potentially damage the ship.

“Captain! We’re taking on water quite fast, we’ll sink if we try to fight these pirates!” a voice called out.

“Damn it, the scourge of the sea really has it out fer us, let’s abandon ship with our prize in one of our small boats!” the captain as you now knew him called out. The room door opened up and the men from earlier came in, another violent rumble went through the ship and everything tilted to the right, the men lost your footing while your box hit the wall aggressively with the ball coming straight at you. Your eyes narrowed at the ball as you knew that you’d be screwed the moment the ball broke your box unless you moved at just the right time. The heavy ball hit your box and as soon as you heard the cracking noise of the box, you moved to your left and the box broke. You narrowly avoided the heavy ball as it hit the wall with a loud ‘thud’.

“Captain, the creature is free!” a man shouted.

“Then grab the damn thing and let’s get moving!” came the captains angry reply, the men by the door slowly got to their feet and you knew you’d have to fight your way out. The men came after you and with a fair bit of speed you used your tail to hit their legs, they hit the ground hard and you began to use your hands to try and crawl away. You were a fish out of water and everyone knew it so you’d have to act fast in order to survive. As you slid past the men you felt them grabbing at your tail, you easily slid out of their grasp though and only let out a screech when you felt pain shoot through your tail. You turned around and saw that one of the men had put a dagger into your tail.

“You’re not getting away” the man practically growled, you tried to slid away but the pain I your tail was unbearable.

“Let me go” you finally spat in an angry tone the men looked stunned.

“Did you just…?” the one man trailed off , unable to form a sentence, you used this moment of shock to rip your tail away from the one man with the dagger and while you did manage to pull free, you ended up with an injury on your tail. You began to bleed but ignored any blood and pain to continue your way out of the door.

“The creature is heading to the deck captain!” another man shouted from behind you, you got to the deck where the captain was waiting for you.

“You’re not going anywhere” he spat, you glared at him and spat in his face, he barely reacted and pulled out a sword. He brought it down and the steel cut the flesh of your tail by your fins, you let out a cry and was sure that if he did that again, your tail would be ruined for life. He lifted his sword again but shadows began to leap onto the deck. You felt fear shoot through you as they attacked the man without mercy, you began to try and get back into the ocean but your tail was in too much pain for you to even move.

“Well now, what do we have here?” a deep voice asked, you looked around but didn’t see anything until a man came out of the crowd of shadows. You dared not to respond while he approached you, he was wearing a pirate captain’s attire, had golden yellow eyes, red violet hair that looked to be messy and a bit of an unshaven beard.

“Hey, get away from our treasure you scourge sc-hrk!” the captain was cut off as a shadow pinned him down to the deck, the man looked over at the captain.

“I wasn’t asking you and if I were, you’d best address me as your majesty for I am the pirate king of these waters” the man stated, you felt even more scared now. Did he just say he was the… pirate king?

“Pirate king?” you quietly asked, the man looked at you and smiled.

“Oh yes, I am the pirate king of these waters and pirates like him are trespassing on my territory “ the man replied.

“Screw you! You’re not the pirate king, you’re the scourge of the seas, the captain of madness upon the Starscourge vessel, Ardyn” the captain spat in an aggressive tone. You felt confusion mix with your fear, you’ve never heard of the Starscourge vessel or a captain called Ardyn before.

“I beg to differ, not that it matters now though as you’re nothing more than a dead man” the man inf ront of you, Ardyn, stated. The other captain went to say something but he screamed as the shadow over top of him consumed him, leaving nothing behind. You stared in horror as not even a blood mark remained, the shadow did not approach you though and you looked at Ardyn.

“You’re not human, are you?” you quietly asked, Ardyn's golden eyes met your (e/c) ones.

“Not anymore but I don’t see how that matters when you aren’t human either” Ardyn said in a rather gentle voice.

“I… suppose not, what brings you to these waters then Ardyn? I have seen many pirates but I have never seen you once” you noted, Ardyn’s smile grew.

“That’s because my ship and crew are always travelling around, looking for a way to put fear into other pirates and sailors as it’s a pirate kings job to protect the waters he is destined to watch over” Ardyn explained.

“I see, you helped me out a great deal then… thank you, your majesty” you said, Ardyn’s face lit up at that and he reached out with his right hand and grabbed your chin.

“You are most welcome my fair maiden, you have truly made me happy as you are the first to call me that. Perhaps we can chat more once we are aboard the Starscourge” Ardyn noted.

“The… Starscourge?” you asked, Ardyn released your chin and gently picked you up with his left arm at your back and right arm under your tail.

“It is my ship and before you protest, I insist on you joining me for a brief time, if only to allow your tail to recover a little bit” Ardyn replied, you felt heat at your cheeks as you realized how gentle Ardyn’s gaze had become as he looked at your damaged tail. He was concerned for you, which was a change from anyone else on the surface.

“I won’t argue with you there as I could use a bit of time to recover” you admitted, Ardyn chuckled as his gaze went back to your face.

“I am glad you see this my way little bird… now, what shall I call you?” he asked.

“Oh, my name is (y/n)” you replied.

“(Y/n)... I like the sound of that, it has a nice ring to it” Ardyn said, you felt your cheeks heat up further and Ardyn smirked as he carried you to the side of the ship where another vessel covered in shadows was. Ardyn easily stepped aboard the new ship and shadows began to follow him, they didn’t not seem to mind your presence though, which was a relief as you know what they’re capable of.

“Are the shadows your crew?” you asked, Ardyn let out a happy hum.

“That they are and they will listen only to me” he replied as a shadow opened a door and Ardyn carried you through. Your eyes widened as you saw a rather lovely room with a comfy looking bed, desk, chair and some maps that looked extremely old on the wall.

“Those maps look quite old” you noted as you pointed at the maps.

“They are indeed quite old, as you heard earlier I’m not quite mortal so I have been on these waters a very long time” Ardyn said as he gently put you down onto the bed, it was quite comfy and you shifted your position to being more comfortable.

“I’m rather curious about you now Ardyn, just what ARE you?” you asked.

“A man of no consequence my little bird, now why don’t you let me tend to your tail? I know a thing or two about sirens” Ardyn replied.

“I… won’t say no, especially when you’ve been so kind to me despite the fact that I’m a siren” you admitted.

You let out a heavy sigh as you lied face down on your bed, exhausted from the day. You had been working hard as per your usual at work but you had been putting off what was really on your mind. It was about your lover, Ardyn Izunia, he hadn’t been at work at all today and you did try texting him but he hasn’t responded, which isn’t unusual but it does worry you as he normally tells you when he’s going to be gone. You rolled over onto your back and groaned loudly as you sat up, worrying about Ardyn isn’t going to help you right now as you’ve used up enough of your time worrying today. You slowly got up, went over to your dresser and got into your favorite pajamas, it was time to try and start relaxing as you won’t be able to sleep if you aren’t relaxed. You jumped as there was a sudden knock at the door to your balcony and you quickly walked out to the living room. You froze as you saw Ardyn there but he looked… different, his face was a ghostly white color with black markings all over it and his eyes were an unnatural yellow color with no pupils and his sclera’s were black. His eyes met yours and you could tell that Ardyn was still there, even though he didn’t look like himself. You forced yourself to move over to the door and opened it up.

“Ardyn… what’s going on? Why is your face like that?” you asked as Ardyn stepped in.

“Forgive me my little bird, I did not mean to show up like this but I needed to see someone I trust… do I frighten you?” Ardyn shot back.

“No, but I am surprised to see you looking so… different...” you replied truthfully, Ardyn smiled at you.

“I’m glad to hear that as my real face scares everyone” Ardyn mumbled, your mouth dropped open and it took several seconds before you recovered enough to close it.

“What do you mean by your ‘real face’?” you asked, Ardyn sighed.

“ I suppose there’s no need to hide the truth from you any longer, I am not who you think I am (y/n)…” Ardyn started, you tilted your head in confusion.

“I don’t understand what you mean Ardyn” you said.

“I am known as Adagium my little bird and I’m positive you’ve only heard the awful things about me” Ardyn stated, you felt stunned as your mind raced. You know about Adagium as it was a well known entity that some also call the Starscourge Incarnate but not once did you suspect that it was Ardyn.

“Ardyn… this is a lot for me to take in but… it doesn’t change how I feel about you” you confessed after a moment, Ardyn looked surprised.

“Do you truly mean that?” he asked in a shocked tone, you smiled at him and nodded.

“Yes, I do mean that as you’ve been by my side when I’ve needed you the most and when I felt abandoned by the astrals” you replied, Ardyn was silent but slowly a small smile graced his lips.

“Y/n, you really are an odd one but I suppose that is why I love you so much... speaking of the astrals though, do you still feel abandoned by them?” Ardyn asked, you nodded.

“Yes, they haven’t helped me when I needed them and it feels like they want me to suffer most days as it feels like I have more bad days than good… it wasn’t until you and I got together that I began to have more good days” you replied, Ardyn’s smile grew.

“Then permit me to make a suggestion my little bird, allow me to give you some of my powers and turn you into my immortal spouse so that we can exact revenge on the astrals together” Ardyn offered. You carefully thought about Ardyn's offer, on one hand, you wanted to tell Ardyn no and just go back to the way things were before this conversation but on the other hand, you wanted to get revenge against the astrals and spend your days with Ardyn without any risk of losing him.

“Knowing what I do now I think there’s only one choice for me… I’ll gladly accept your offer” you said, Ardyn’s eyes lit up and his smile grew into a grin.

“You have made me happier than you could ever know, now let us go to your bedroom and begin the process of making you my immortal spouse… oh and before I forget, the process can be painful but I’ll be with you” Ardyn stated. You felt uneasy now but nodded and knew that you couldn’t back out of your decision now.

“I understand Ardyn” you noted, you both quietly made your way to the bedroom and as you got in, Ardyn quickly took you down to the bed and you let out a gasp as he held you down firmly. Dark whisps and tendrils began to form around Ardyn and slowly the tendrils went over your body and the whisps began to multiply.

“It’s time my little bird” Ardyn said, you took a deep breath and Ardyn kissed you on the lips, a horrible, ashy tasting liquid entered your mouth and you began to swallow it with a wince. Pain began to shoot through your body and you felt fear beginning to rise up within you. You began to squirm but Ardyn and the tendrils held you still and you felt tears welling up in your eyes. You shut them and tried to ignore the rising pain flowing through your body. Ardyn’s kiss deepened but you couldn’t bring yourself to return it as the pain grew into a fire that went through your body and you could feel that something was wrong. Ardyn pulled away and you let out a gasp for air as your vision became blurry.

“A-Ardyn… it hurts!” you cried out in pain.

“It’s OK (y/n), it won’t be much longer” Ardyn promised, you let out a scream as the pain and burning sensation only intensified and you tried to move around as you felt the tendrils beginning to disappear from around your body. Ardyn held you down firmly though and he silenced your scream with another kiss, this time he slipped his tongue into your mouth and it began to dance with your tongue. There was nothing ashy tasting this time though and eventually the burning feeling began to die down. You stopped trying to move and you relaxed as exhaustion began to creep into your body, Ardyn released you from the kiss and your (e/c) eyes met his.

“Ardyn…” you tiredly mumbled as you reached up and grabbed at his coat.

You took a deep breath as you sent out a text to your boss and lover saying that you weren’t going to be in today due to feeling under the weather and could only hope that he believed you. You had been feeling a little off at work lately but hadn’t realized that the full moon was approaching until you overheard one of your coworkers yesterday mention that they were taking their girlfriend out on a date out today as she wanted to have a romantic evening under the light of a full moon. You were normally on track with the moon cycles to avoid situations like this but spending time with your boss, who is also your lover, has caused you to lose track of the moon cycles. You snapped out of your thoughts as your cell phone went off with a text message, you looked at your cell phone and quietly cursed to yourself as you got a reply back asking if you were alright. You lied and sent a text back saying that you had just come down with the flu, feeling ashamed that you couldn’t tell him the truth in fear that he’d be terrified of you. It hurt you knowing that he only knows you as a human and not as the werewolf you truly are. At the same time though it’s better this way as you don’t want to hurt him by accident and while you weren’t normally a feral werewolf, there were some days where you let your instincts go wild and you’ve allowed yourself to be free when you’re away from people. Tonight would not be one of those nights as you haven’t even gotten ready to leave for today and you’re normally gone by this point. You sighed and knew that this would be a day where you’d be stuck inside and would have to do everything you could to not cry out when you transformed so that you don’t alert your neighbors, perhaps it would be best to use a sleep potion for tonight. It wasn’t an ideal choice but it was all you had at this point since leaving the city after you lied to your boss would be bad, especially if he decided to come over and check on you. Your cell phone went off again at this point and you looked at your phone again to see that your boss wished you to get well soon, you knew that it would only be a matter of time before he showed up at this point as he’s always come by to see you when you’ve been sick in the past. You slowly began to move around your apartment and kept a careful track of the time, it was still morning but your werewolf side typically liked to come out slowly over the course of a day in small ways with the worst of it happening at night. Perhaps you’d get lucky though and your boss would stop by early enough where you can still go out as even the small changes were painful. It then dawned on you that if your boss didn’t come soon, then you’d really have a problem to deal with because he would see the changes in you.

“Shoot, what do I do?” you asked yourself as you began to pace in your apartment. Oh this was bad! As your panic began to well up you felt pain beginning to shoot through your nails, you stopped where you were and looked to your hands to see that your nails had already grown a little bit longer and sharper. You took a deep breath and knew that the panic is what was causing this and you needed to calm down NOW! You began to force yourself to calm down and take deep, steady breaths and the pain died away in your fingers, leaving you with slightly sharper nails. With a sigh you went into your bedroom and pulled out a sleeping potion from your bedside table, you may need this sooner and wouldn’t hesitate to drink it. You lied down on your bed and stared at the roof with thoughts running rampant through your head. What happens if the sleep potion doesn’t work tonight? What if you go feral in your apartment? What if someone finds out about you? What if your boss and lover found out about you? Would he scream? Run? Abandon you to your awful fate? You groaned and hated feeling like this right now because you were starting to feel like you were living a normal life for once, only for this to happen. You lied on your bed for quite awhile and didn’t move a muscle as you were consumed by your thoughts and wanted to be dead to the world right now. You eventually snapped from your thoughts as pain shot through your mouth and you barely suppressed a cry as a loud, sickening, cracking noise came from your mouth. You could feel your canine teeth growing sharper and longer, it didn’t last long though as the pain disappeared and you got up from your bed and went to the washroom. You looked in the mirror and saw that your canine teeth had definitely gotten bigger and longer. You felt uneasy and could only hope that your boss wouldn’t come see you at all because it was getting harder and harder to hide the truth. As if on cue, there was a knock on your bedroom door and you swallowed nervously as you knew that knock.

“(Y/n), are you awake?” came the one person’s voice you had hoped to not hear, you bit your lower lip gently so that you didn’t hurt yourself by accident and knew that if you didn’t answer the door, he would come in.

“J-just a minute” you replied in a fake sick voice as you left your bathroom and put on your sick blanket to try and see about fooling your boss. You could only hope that he wouldn’t notice anything physically wrong with you at this point and would leave if you pretended to be sick. You went over to your door, unlocked it and let out a fake cough as you cracked it open slightly to see your boss and lover Ardyn Izunia there.

“Hello my little bird, I came by to see how you were” Ardyn gently greeted with a smile, you forced yourself not to smile back as you couldn’t show him your teeth.

“I’m feeling a little under the weather… I’ll be back to work in a few days” you said in the fakes sick voice you could muster, Ardyn frowned though and you felt a rock in your stomach.

“You’ve never sounded like this when you’ve been sick in the past… you aren’t lieing about being sick for a day off are you?” Ardyn asked, you shook your head.

“No, I wouldn’t lie to you Chancellor Izunia” you replied as panic began to well up in your chest again.

“(Y/n)” Ardyn said in a tone that you knew was one he used when he caught someone lieing to him.

“I’m sorry but I can’t explain my illness” you mumbled and tried to close the door, it was no use though as Ardyn had put his hand on the door and prevented it from closing.

“I can’t just excuse your sudden absence over something that you can’t explain” he said, you felt your head beginning to pound and you knew that more changes were going to start happening soon.

“Please don’t pressure me” you pleaded in a quiet voice, Ardyn’s gaze softened.

“Little bird…. What’s really going on?” he asked as he gently began to push on the door. You hesitated and knew that you couldn’t resist him when he got like this, you pushed the thought away and knew you’d have to try and be firm for his safety.

“You wouldn’t understand” you finally admitted, Ardyn sighed and you gasped as he pushed the door open a little bit more.

“Try me little bird” he dared, your (e/c) eyes met his amber ones.

“I can’t, you’d hate me” you flatly and coldly stated, Ardyn rose his right eyebrow at you, he went to say something but a sharp pain went through your head and you flinched, damn it… you’re going to have a minor change now?! You released the door and knew you had to go to you bathroom NOW in hopes that Ardyn would leave, you went to run off to your bathroom but it was too late as Ardyn had come inside, closed the door behind him and grabbed your arm. You tried to pull away but Ardyn quickly embraced you and fear soared within your chest as you had to get away from him before he saw the truth.

“Calm down (y/n)” Ardyn said in a firm voice, you tried to warn him to release you but you let out a cry as you felt pain shoot through your head and you held your hands to your head. No, this can’t be happening in front of him, not now! Ardyn locked up as there was a cracking noise in your head and you felt your ears lengthen and grow a little bit. When it stopped you had tears in your eyes and the tears rolled down your cheeks.

“I’m sorry, I can’t be around you right now, please leave” you damn near sobbed in hopes that Ardyn would leave you be now.

“(Y/n), look at me” Ardyn said with a gentle voice now, you slowly looked up and saw that there wasn’t any sign of fear in Ardyn’s eyes.

“Ardyn, you can’t be here” you stated again, Ardyn shook his head though as he released you, grabbed at your hand on your head and lowered them from your ears which you were sure weren’t normal now either.

“I am here though and I can see why you called in sick now too… why didn’t you mention this to me sooner?” Ardyn asked in a calm tone, you felt stunned.

“How are you so calm about this Ardyn? I’m a werewolf… a monster” you replied, Ardyn shook his head.

“Monsters are only creatures that kill like mindless machines and I’ve not heard about any deaths from creatures recently so you’re not a monster. To me you’re still my precious starlight, no matter what you are” Ardyn stated, more tears left your eyes.

“Ardyn…” you trailed off, unable to form a proper sentence right now as his statement caught you off guard.

“It’s alright, I’m here with you my little bird and everything is going to be okay” Ardyn promised, you nodded.

“Thank you” you breathed as the fear inside of you began to subside, Ardyn chuckled.

“You’re welcome, now let’s get you off to your bed as night will soon be here and it’ll do you no good to be on the floor when you fully transform” Ardyn stated. You nodded and Ardyn led you to your bedroom and had you lie down on it.

“You never answered my question from earlier, how are you so calm about this?” you asked after a few moments, Ardyn chuckled.

“I have seen many strange things in my life and nothing shocks me anymore” he replied, you nodded and the two of you waited there in silence until night fell and pain surged through your body. You curled up into a tight ball and cried out in pain as your body rapidly heated up and the rest of the changes began to unfold at a rapid pace.

“Ardyn…” you growled in a pained tone as he watched you grow and transform before his eyes with an interested look. Your clothes began to stretch and tear in a few places as your body grew and shifted with painful cracks and snaps echoing through your room with your cries. When your fur finally came through and nothing but animalistic noises came out, you knew that the worst part was coming. Your tailbone lengthened into a tail and your face began to push out into a muzzle, making your cries a howl. When you finally finished transforming you unfurled from your ball and looked at Ardyn who was only smiling at this point.

You walked into the treasure room of a small temple and looked to the middle of a room to see a rough looking green crystal on a pedestal and you slowly pulled a sword and cautiously tapped the ground before taking a step towards the pedestal. A trap could be on any part of this floor and you couldn’t run the risk of triggering it and dieing, not after you had a close call a few days ago and needed help from a treasure hunter rival who introduced himself as Cid and travelled with a chocobo. He was quite polite and seemed like a nice man but you know that you owe him now and that isn’t something you wanted. You paused as there was a loose stone that your sword poked into and you squatted down to inspect the stone further, it was up a few inches from the floor and you blew on the rock. It didn’t move and you knew that it was a trap, you stood back up and used your sword to go around the rock. You continued on your way to the treasure and eventually your foot went through the ground at one point and you gasped as you heard a clicking noise. You heard metal sliding from beside you and you looked  over to see an axe coming down at you from the wall, you did a shoulder roll forward and narrowly avoided the axe. You sighed in relief as you got up but your relief was short lived as you could hear footsteps coming from a doorway on the opposite side of the room. You continued forward but froze as Cid and his chocobo, Chocobo, came running into the room. Cid looked a little stunned to see you as your (e/c) eyes met his brilliant, bright blue eyes, there was silence for a brief moment before Cid gave you a polite smile.

“I’m glad to see that you’re still in one piece and still treasure hunting miss but… I didn’t expect to see you here” Cid noted as he and Chocobo cautiously began to make their way forward.

“Expect the unexpected there Cid and  please...  use my name, (y/n)” you shot back as you broke eye contact with Cid and continued to make your way towards the treasure.

“Hah… I honestly should know to expect the unexpected but I don’t always think about it” Cid confessed, you felt confused and you ended up hitting another trap, fire came up from Cid’s and Chocobo’s feet and they jumped out of the way.

“Kweh, kweh, kweh!” Chocobo announced in a shocked tone, as his talons hit another trap, spears shot up from under your feet and you moved to avoid them, only to have your right hand grazed by a spear, you flinched as pain shot through your hand and you looked to see blood coming out of your hand. You began to head for the crystal again and  made sure to hide your injury to the best of your abilities. You swiftly made your way forward, avoiding any traps that were being activated and eventually you pulled the crystal off of the pedestal and all of the traps that were going off had stopped and you sighed in relief as it was over. Cid came over to you and gently grabbed your right hand, he flipped it over and  inspected it closely.

“You’re injured (y/n)” Cid said as he frowned at the wound, you wanted to pull away but didn’t want to seem rude.

“I’ll be okay, besides, I know first aid and can tend to my hand myself as it’s normal for me to be injured as I think I’m the unluckiest treasure hunter when it comes to traps” you noted, trying to keep your tone light.

“Let me help you out (y/n) as you might not  have  gotten hurt if we hadn’t of arrived” Cid stated in a serious tone.

“That’s not true Cid, I’m just a magnet for trouble so don’t worry about me” you countered, Cid shook his head.

“I can’t help but worry so please allow me to look after your right hand” Cid shot back, you sighed and knew that the tone he was currently using was one that said he wouldn’t let this go until you let him help you.

“Alright Cid, I’ll let you attend to my hand but now I’ll owe you twice as much” you said.

“You don’t owe me (y/n) as it’s just a relief to me that one of my rivals is doing okay, especially since being a treasure  hunter is dangerous” Cid stated. You gave him an odd look, while it’s not unusual to see rival treasure hunters and help them out when they need  it, it’s extremely unusual for treasure hunters to not expect anything in return for helping out.

“You’re not exactly a typical treasure hunter… you know that, right?” you asked, Cid chuckled.

“I hear that a lot and I know I’m an odd duck when it comes to treasure hunting but… my whole family were odd ducks too” Cid replied as he gently began to lead you away. You were even more confused as none of this seemed real to you right now. You wouldn’t argue with him at this point thought because your hand stung and all you wanted to do was have it bandaged up. Cid quietly led you to a vehicle outside of the temple and he released your hand before pulling out a first aid kit.

“I really should carry a small first aid kit on me” you mumbled.

“Kweh?” Chocobo asked as he tilted his head at you.

“I only started to carry one when I ended up getting a wound similar to yours a few months ago and had to use a makeshift bandage for myself” Cid admitted as he took out a wipe and began to clean the wound on your hand with it. You both fell silent again and Cid quietly finished cleaning your wound and then pulled out a bandage and gently bandaged your hand like a pro, he inspected his work once he was done and gave a nod of approval.

“Thanks for bandaging my hand up Cid” you thanked as you wiggled your fingers and felt relieved that your wound was bandaged.

“You’re welcome (y/n), we’re always happy to help, now it’s time for Chocobo and I to go back to adventuring” Cid noted as he packed up his  first aid kit. Put it into his vehicle and then hopped into it with Chocobo hopping in beside him.

You let out a deep sigh as you walked through the park trying to pick up your mood a little bit as you were having a rougher day today and felt like nothing had gone right today. You had woken up to take your medicine as per your normal routine, only to find that you were out of the one that you needed, it was no big deal though as you were going to see your specialist the morning and you could always get another pen from her to do your injection later on. You had gone to your appointment and upon getting weighed, you heard two of the nurses whispering behind your back. You tried to shake the feeling that it was about you but your fears only grew as the one nurse took you to the one room with an office desk in it without a smile. She had you take a seat and you sat down feeling your fear becoming worse and worse until the specialist came in and sat down across the desk. She proceeded to tell you that she was changing up your medication because you had gone up in weight recently instead of losing weight like she wanted you to. You internally flinched as she pointed out how you were overweight according to the BMI scale not bothering to take into consideration any muscle you have gained through your training recently. She then proceeded to give you a prescription for a new shot to take while taking the pills you were on and you were at a loss for words as she said that she noticed how you were beginning to get rounder again. You left the facility with a strong face but ended up breaking down when going towards the pharmacy, it wasn’t your fault that you had PCOS and struggled with your weight and insulin levels. Whats worse is that if this new medicine doesn’t work, you’ll be put onto a plain salad diet to control your weight, which would work in the short term but would cause horrible side effects. You shuddered at the thought as you only lost so much weight so fast because you literally ae only an apple a day for a few months and your friends were horrified when they discovered what you had done after they saw you pass out at work. It had taken them a few more months to get you to eat even a decent portion again and have kept a close eye on you ever since. You of course gained some weight back and your friends noted that you didn’t look so pale and close to death, this has displeased your specialist though who would love to see you at the BMI scales idea of your ideal weight.

“Hello there my little bird, fancy meeting you here” a voice suddenly greeted from in front of you, interrupting your thoughts, you looked up and saw Ardyn there.

“Shouldn’t you be at work?” you asked in a quiet and colder tone than you intended, Ardyn looked a little surprised as you don’t normlly act so cold towards people, let alone him.

“Why yes but I thought I’d ke a quick break to check up on you as one of your friends mentioned that you went to see your specialist today and I believe it was er fault you ended up in quite a mess a couple of months ago” Ardyn replied. You sighed heavily and didn’t like how he knew so much about your medical history, yes, it was good that he knew about your PCOS since you two were dating but you hated how he knew what you had done to yourself in order to lose weight.

“Thanks but I’d rather be left alone right now as… it didn’t go well” you admitted, Ardyn took a deep breath.

“You know I won’t leave you be until I know whats going on (Y/N) so just tell me what it was that was said to you before I march into the specialists office and use my position to demand information from your specialist. Which I would like to avoid doing being I dislike your so called ‘specialist’ as I feel like she’s an idiot” Ardyn stated. You felt tears beginning to well up in your eyes and silently cursed how PCOS can make you way more emotional than you ever want to be.

“Just drop it okay? I really can’t deal with this right now” you mumbled, Ardyn didn’t bother to back away though and he closed the gap quickly before pulling you into his strong, warm, comforting embrace.

“You know I won’t do that, not when you need someone now more than ever it seems” Ardyn mumbled into your ear, you wanted to protest and put him away, you didn’t deserve to have Ardyn as your boyfriend. You began to mentally shut down now due to all the emotions beginning to bubble to the surface, you hated how you were always on the bigger side and your PCOS only makes it worse along with the depression and anxiety.

“Please Ardyn… I don’t want to be here” you quietly said, feeling like you were making a scene in front of an audience when you knew that no one was really paying attention. Ardyn said nothing as he released you and picked you up bridal sytle with what seemed like ease and you silently began to wonder if Ardyn was hurt trying to lift you up. He began to carry you away though and you buried your face into his dark coat, his smell was a smokey smell that reminded you of a campfire when you go out camping. The smell began to calm you down and you soon heard a door open, you unburied your face and realized that you were in someone’s living room.

“This is my place away from the palace as I don’t really care to stay within a castles walls any longer than I have to, now take a moment to yourself as I go grab you some water before you tell me what happened” Ardyn noted as he put you down onto a very comfortable, red couch. You sat there in a bit of shock and were trying to figure out how fast Ardyn had walked or how he had opened the door while carrying you as it didn’t feel like it had been very long. Ardyn came over a few moments later with what looked like a silver goblet fit for nobility, he handed it to you and you gently took it from him and sipped out of it.

“Thanks Ardyn” you thanked, Ardyn sat down beside you and studied you closely.

“You are most welcome my little bird… now, what did your specialist say?” Ardyn asked in a more serious tone, you sighed.

“She’s changing up my medicine for my PCOS because I’ve gained weight again and according to the BMI scale I’m now considered overweight again. Hell, she even said that she’s noticed me getting rounder too” you replied, anger flared up in Ardyn’s eyes and he frowned.

“How can she say such a thing when she saw you lose weight so fast after eating only an apple a day for a few months? Is she truly that stupid as to think that everyone has the same body type?!” Ardyn snapped in a very low, dangerous and angry tone.

“I don’t know… maybe she’s right though… I have been getting a little bit rounder lately” you mumbled, hating how no matter what, you hated looking into a mirror since your body isn’t like some of the others.

“Enough, I will not have you say such false things as a persons outwards appearance is only temporary, you deserve to be happy in your body and I hate seeing you like this” Ardyn stated in a sharp tone that you’ve never heard him use before.

“Ardyn…” you start but decide to fall silent as his amber eyes were full of silent rage.

“Listen my precious starlight, I think you’re perfect the way you are so don’t you dare think about starting up another diet or listen to that woman as the BMI scale is absolute garbage and believe me when I say that I’ll be having that woman’s job for this” Ardyn spat.

“Ardyn, she has to be able to make a living somehow” you protested, knowing that while he was right, you didn’t want to imagine someone like your specialist having a family and being unable to provide for them.

“I appreciate your gentle heart but this cannot be left alone (Y/N) so I’ll be banning her from working as a specialist in the city but no where else” Ardyn said. You relaxed a little bit knowing that even though she’ll lose her rights to be a specialist that she’ll at least have a way of still being able to get a job to provide for her family.

“That makes me feel a little bit better” you admitted, Ardyn took a deep breath to calm himself down before he pulled you into his embrace on the couch.

This one was a little bit tougher for me as I’ve never really been on a date before so I had to fantasize about what I’d like and then go from there so please don’t shoot me for it. You took a deep, shakey breath as you looked in the mirror one more time to make sure that everything was perfect before you went out on your first date ever. You were thankful that this wasn’t considered a super formal date either as you didn’t have any fancy clothes since you never tend to go out too much anyways. Still, you knew you couldn’t be in just sweatpants or pajamas so you put on a nice pair of stretchy jeans and a nice blue top that had long sleeves but had any opening so air could get in and it hugged your upper body comfortably. Your (H/L) (H/C) was nice and neat compared to it’s usual messy state, you turned away from the mirror and pulled on your shoes before you left your room at the condo you were living at and headed for the local park where your date said he’d meet you. It was kind of funny how this happened really, because you had always admired this man from far away and yet he somehow noticed you one day when you had to take papers to his office. You had just exchanged pleasantries at first but after about a week the man finally asked you out for dinner at a nice casual place as he didn’t feel like changing after work. You were okay with this and even told him that and with his dashing smile he got your number from you and arranged this date with you. As you approached the park you saw your date, Ardyn Izunia there in his usual clothes and hat with a purple tulip in his right hand, he smiled as he saw you.

“Hello there my little bird, it’s good to see you” Ardyn greeted as he closed the gap by walking over to you.

“Hello chancellor Izunia, it’s a pleasure to see you too” you greeted, Ardyn tsk’d as he waved his left index finger at you.

“Ah, ah, ah, I would much rather you use my name as we aren’t currently at work” Ardyn stated, you felt a little uneasy as you were always told to be respectful of those in higher positions but you can’t exactly go against your dates wishes either.

“V-very well Ardyn” you said, Ardyn smiled at you and his eyes lit up as you said his name.

“That’s better, now before we get going, I’d like to give this to you” Ardyn noted as he moved his hands and put the tulip in your hair, just above your right ear, you felt your cheeks begin to heat up.

“T-thank you Ardyn… what does the flower symbolize though?” you asked, Ardyn’s smile grew into a grin.

“Tulips typically symbolize perfect or deep love and the purple one in particular symbolize royalty… I just think this flower looks beautiful like you and since I am going to b treating you like royalty in my own way tonight, I think this was very fitting” Ardyn replied. Your face grew even warmer at that and you felt your heart begin to pound faster and harder.

“Ah… Ardyn, that’s really thoughtful and all but… I-I’m not really special enough to be treated like royalty” you pointed out as you covered you face with your hands, trying to hide what you’re sure is the darkest blush you’ve ever had.

“Come now my little bird, you are indeed special enough to be treated like royalty, now uncover that pretty little face of yours so that we can head over to the restaurant where I made reservations for our dinner” Ardyn said as he gently grabbed your wrists and lowered your hands from your face. You didn’t try to resist him as his amber eyes locked into you (E/C) eyes, Ardyn released you’re your wrists, went right beside you and offered you his right arm. You took a deep breath and quietly took his arm and he looked elated tat you did so, he led you away from the park and into a casual but nice looking restaurant where a waitress greeted you two by the door.

“Hello, do you have a reservation with us tonight?” the waitress asked, Ardyn nodded.

“We do, it’ll be under the name Ardyn Izunia” Ardyn replied, the waitress went over to the reservation book and read through it before pausing and looking up.

“Perfect, follow me please” the waitress said and then walked away, you and Ardyn followed the waitress to a set of stairs and went up to the second floor and out the door onto the deck where some tables with an amazing view of the sky were.

“Amazing…” you breathed quietly as you were amazed by the view of the sunset, Ardyn chuckled.

“Here is your table sir and ma’am, your waiter will be here shortly to grab your drink order” the waitress said and then left, you released Ardyn’s arm and Ardyn pulled out your chair for you and you sat down as he brought the chair close to you.

“Thank you Ardyn… this is a beautiful view of the sunset” you noted as Ardyn sat down across from you.

“I am glad you enjoy it my little bird as I wanted this to be a very special night for you” Ardyn stated as he looked at the wine menu.

“It already has been as I’ve never gone on a date before” you admitted, Ardyn rose his right eyebrow.

“How has one such as yourself not gone on a date before?” Ardyn asked, you sighed.

“It’s never really been my thing and no one has really caught my eye until now” you replied, Ardyn lowered his eyebrow and studied you carefully.

“Surely you don’t mean that” he noted in a casual tone, you smiled.

“I do mean it Ardyn and I haven’t regretted this choice at all so far” you stated.

“I’m glad, how about we celebrate this… momentous occasion with a bottle of wine then?” Ardyn offered, you felt a little stunned, you don’t understand how this was a momentous occasion but… you weren’t going to deny a drink with the chancellor as not everyone gets to do such a thing so casually.

“I’d like that” you replied, Ardyn looked extremely please as he set the menu down and rested his hands on the table.

“Now that we have that decided, I’d like to know a little bit more about you” Ardyn admitted, you felt uneasy, you weren’t one to talk about yourself and it’s kind of weird to do so as no one has really asked you before.

“Sure? What would you like to know about me?” you asked.

“Everything as I’d love to know more about my little bird who lives in a condo and yet has a job at the palace” Ardyn replied, you suppressed a sigh, you should’ve expected that because most of those who work in the palace tend to stay there but a few don’t.

“Very well then, I’ll tell you a litle bit about myself, but in return, I want to know a little bit more about you as you’re a mystery to me” you said.

“Ah but that is all apart of te fun of getting to know someone, is it not?” Ardyn asked, you nodded in agreement and you both began to tell eachother about yourselves. Time seemed to slip by as you and Ardyn spoke over some wine and dinner and as the moon began to come out you wanted nothing more than to have time stop as you were enjoying yourself but alas, time doesn’t stop for anyone.

“This was a fantastic dinner Ardyn, thank you so much” you thanked as the waiter finally brought the check over and Ardyn paid for the meal.

“The pleasure was all mine my dear as I enjoyed spending time with you, alas, it seemed so short” Ardyn noted, you smiled.

“I was thinking the exact same thing, sadly I’ve got to get going as the streets tend to get dangerous going back to my place as the night goes on” you admitted, Ardyn took a deep breath.

“Then wy don’t I walk you home?” Ardyn asked, you shook your head.

“I can’t possible ask you to do that Ardyn as you have to get home at a reasonable hour too” you replied, Ardyn waved his hand dismissively.

“I can do without a little bit of rest but it would forever haunt me if harm came to you while walking home” Ardyn countered, you felt surprised. You’ve never had anyone be so adamant about bringing you home before and it would be nice to not have to worry about being attacked.

“Very well Ardyn, just promise me that after you’ve brought me hoe that you’ll be able to get back to your place safely” you shot back, Ardyn laughed.

“Oh my sweet little bird, I may not look idinnerI can hold my own if need be, trust me” Ardyn said in a confident tone, you believed him and you both stood up and left the table. As you left the restaurant, Ardyn offered you his arm once again and you took a bit more confidently this time. You began to walk home under the moonlight and had never felt more protected than you did now with Ardyn by your side. You don’t know if it’s because he was the chancellor or not but you weren’t going to try and figure it out, you both silently walked to your condo building where you looked at Ardyn.

“Alright, this is my condo… I should be okay from here” he noted, Ardyn didn’t look convinced.

“Should be doesn’t quite cut it I’m afraid so I’ll have to insist on escorting you to your room as well” Ardyn stated, you couldn’t help but smile and giggle a little bit at his protective attitude but you weren’t going to bother trying to tell him otherwise. You both walked into the condo and made your way up to the top floor and over to the door where your room was. You released Ardyn’s arm, pulled out your room key, unlocked the door and opened it before turning around and facing Ardyn.

“Now I’m back home, thanks again Ardyn, this was a really great night” you said, not sure if you wanted to tell him that you wanted to do this again with him or not.

“You’re welcome, before you go though, there is… one last thing I’d like to give you” Ardyn admitted, you grew curious.

“Oh? What would that be?” you asked, Ardyn smiled as he gently grabbed your chin in his right hand and tilted your head up before he leaned down and gently met your lips with his lips. Your face felt like it was on fire as your heart began to beat wildly and Ardyn pulled away as he released your chin with a mischievous smirk on his face.

“That should answer your question my little bird and I see that you didn’t mind it” Ardyn replied, you felt a a loss for words and slowly you began to regain compsure and form a half sentence.

“A-Ardyn you just… I didn’t… uhhh thank you?” you stammered out with a question more than said, Ardyn laughed.

So here I am again with another Ardyn x Reader post, I haven’t been feeling well lately and my amazing older sibling has been nothing but caring towards me and so I thought about how Ardyn would care for his sick SO, especially since he was a healer at some point. Again, he will probably be OOC because I’m not super used to writing him. Anyways, please enjoy!

You let out a horrible wet cough again as you curled up deeper into your blankets, feeling miserable as you felt cold despite having a fever. You were fine just yesterday when you were at work and even in the evening wen you were out with your significant other, Ardyn. However, as you made your way back to your room at the condo you were living at, you began to feel quite cold so you did everything you could to fight off the incoming illness as you knew that you were one to get sick extremely fast. The cup of tea and extra sleep did little to help you though as you woke up this morning feeling quite sick, you called into work right away and let Ardyn know by text that you were unable to see him today. You snapped out of your thoughts as there was a shap knock against your door and you groaned as it made your head pound, you opened your mouth to speak but you went into another coughing fit. You sat up and as it began to calm down, you heard the lock to your room click and you knew that the only one who could’ve gotten in at this point would be Ardyn as you had given him a key, just in case he wanted to stop by and visit. You heard the door open and you waited patiently in bed as the there were footsteps coming towards the bedroom.

“(Y/N) are you in your bedroom?” came Ardyn’s deep, yet soothing voice.

“Yes, I’m here” you squeaked in a rough voice that was almost non-existent, Ardyn came into the bedroom a few moments later and his amber eyes met your (E/C) ones.

“Ah, there you are my sick little bird, how are you holding up?” Ardyn asked as he came over to the bed and sat down beside you.

“I’d be better if I wasn’t sick… I didn’t even get a chance to fight it off before it fully hit me” you replied in a squeaky voice, Ardyn put his right wrist against your forehead and you flinched as it felt cool to the touch.

“You’ve got a fever my dear so why don’t you let me go make some tea for you and take care of you?” he asked, you shook your head.

You’ve got work to do Ardyn, you can’t just drop everything to come take care of me” you pointed out, Ardyn chuckled as he pulled his wrist away from your forehead.

“My job requires me to be away for days at a time so believe me when I say that I won’t be missed for the few days I’ll be gone to take care of you” Ardyn noted in an unconcerned tone.

“You make it sound as if it’s normal for you to just disappear” you mumbled.

“That’s because it is normal for me to disappear at random points quite often” Ardyn said as he got up and went to leave, you grabbed at his right hand though and he paused to look at you.

“Just please promise me that you won’t get chewed out by your bosses, I’d feel bad” you noted, Ardyn smiled.

“I won’t get chewed out (Y/N), now you rest easy until I can get back with some tea for you” Ardyn said.

“It’s hard to relax when I feel this miserable though” you protested, Ardyn rose his right eyebrow at you and he sat back down onto the bed, you released his right hand and he gently pushed you back down onto your pillow.

“I never said it was easy but you will have to just put up with it for now when you’re in this condition” Ardyn shot back in a firm but gentle voice that reminded you of a doctor fussing over a patient who had just woken up in the hospital and was trying to move about.

“Fine… but be quick as having you here is aking my mind off of how miserable I’m feeling” you reluctantly noted, Ardyn chuckled as he leaned over and planted a gentle kiss on your forehead before getting up again.

So I've done some writing for fanfictions and stuff and decided to post something about a character I recently got into Ardyn Izunia and crossed it over with my favourite supernatural creature (werewolves) because my brain wouldn't pipe down after an idea popped into my head a little while ago as I was reading Ardyn as different monsters. I'm sorry if characters are OOC and since writing from the readers perspective isn't typically something I do, please forgive me. Anyways, I hope you'll all enjoy this!

You let out a sigh as you walked around the forest, unable to find your way back to your way out of the forest, it was dark out and you only had a little flashlight in your right hand. You had come out here to camp with some friends earlier but after you left to get some firewood, you got an alarming text on your cell phone that some sort of beast had come to the campsite location and your friends were running back to the van to wait for you. You had quickly gotten back to the camp location to see some odd paws prints but no sign of your friends or the vehicle, which only meant one thing. They had left you out here in the forest on your own, knowing full well that there is a creature on the loose. You thankfully haven’t encountered anything yet but you felt… watched since you found your campsite and it was a bit creepy as no one should be out here watching you and no beast you know of is patient enough to not show themselves at this point. You snapped out of your thoughts as you finally spotted a vehicle in front of you and you went over to it. It was a red convertible that had someones clothes in the back seat but no signs of anyone close by or signs of a struggle. You looked around for a key to the car but found nothing, you sigh in frustration as you were hoping for a way to get out of here, not that you knew where to go but anything was better than meeting the beast your friends spoke about. A low growl came from beind you and you turned around to see two feral yellow eyes looking at you from the shadows.

“Damn it… looks like my luck’s ran out” you mumbled as you went to the other side of the vehicle and pulled out your tiny survival knife, a wolf like beast on two hind… paws came out of the shadows and your heart began to pound. The beast looked at you with an amused glint in it’s eyes and you began to panic, what the hell is this thing?! The beast took a step forward and you went to step back but te beasts eyes glowed briefly and black tendrils shot out of the ground and grabbed you, holding you in place while the beast calmly approached you. You began to struggle against the tendrils but it was of no use and you shut yours eyes, preparing yourself to feel pain as the beast would surely rip you to shreds any moment now.

“You’re quite the pretty thing, aren’t you?” a low, inhuman voice asked, your eyes open in shock and the beast was right in front of you, gazing at you with unblinking eyes.

“Was… that you?” you asked, the beast smiled and you felt a shiver go down your spine as you saw it’s sharp teeth.

“So you can understand me, good” the beast rumbled as it took it’s right ‘hand’ and grabbed your chin rather roughly.

“What the hell are you?” you ask in disbelief, wondering if this was actually real.

“Oh my, you haven’t hard the tales of the wolf in sheeps clothing?” the beast asked in a rather amused tone as it leaned forward and sniffed at your neck. The hair on the back of your neck stood up at the beasts red-violet fur brushed against your skin.

“O-of course I have but those are just stories” you replied, trying not to move so as not to anger the beast.

“Stories have to come from somewhere my little prey” the beast growled as it pulled away and bared it’s teeth at you, your fear began to rise even further as you knew that the beast wasn’t lieing.

“Then why haven’t you reacted by killing me as the stories say?” you defiantly asked, the beast let out a dark, animalistic chuckle.

"It’s so much more fun to chase ones prey down and make them fear you before doing such a thing, although I must say that while you smell delicious, I believe I have a different plan in mind for you” the beast replied.

“A.. different plan?” you asked, the beasts impossibly big smile grew even bigger.

“Indeed, you were quite interesting to watch as you knew about the rumors and decideed to come out with your so called ‘friends’ who abandoned you the moment I wanted to hunt and then you decided to let me follow you. I think that deserves a reward, one that you can’t refuse” the beast replied, you began to struggle against the tendrils again as the beast released your chin.

“Oh hell no, I refuse to take any rewad from something like you” you spat, the beast shook it’s furry head

“Oh but I insist that you take it as it’s not like you have much of a choice, before I do give it to you though, remember the name Ardyn Izunia when you wake up tomorrow because it is the name of your mate for life” the beast stated. You went to snap at the beast but it bit into your right shoulder and you screamed in pain as it hurt unlike anything else you’ve felt before.

“Someone, help me!” you cried out, suddenly finding your courage to call out for help, the beast released you and chuckled.
