I think timing really is everything because if I met you three years later or three years earlier, we’d be in a completely different spot- so thank God I didn’t, because I like where we are right now. And if I met my last boyfriend when I was in college I wouldn’t have been ready. And if I met the guy I loved when I was 18 for the first time today, I don’t think I would have felt the same way, but he was exactly what I needed back then. I think the reality is sometimes the “when” is more important than the “who,” and this goes for all kinds of relationships. And at certain points in your life, someone can be exactly what you need, but at other points, that same someone can be just another person.

i tend to idolize nostalgia, whether the past was truly picture-perfect or not. all I know is, I was lucky enough to have had those nights, and the unwavering memories that they created.

The fact that anger is a secondary emotion… that its source is grief… how tragic and poetic

it’s so weird that women are seen as emotional and melodramatic when all the men i know are the most unbelievably melodramatic people on earth and also every time i express an emotion as a woman i feel guilty and apologize profusely but I’ve literally never once heard a man apologize for expressing an emotion even though they throw literal temper tantrums all the time 

Don't get sucked into the "if they really cared I wouldn't have to say something" spiral. No matter how close you are with someone, it's unfair to expect them to know things you haven't actually communicated.
