@erasedquirk Time to play the Hero again.
Purchase comes in the form of familiar faces and new allies.
It would be irresponsible and borderline wrong for Hawks not to adapt to his surroundings. Find something to do - some way to sustain himself. Get to know the locals, get intel, get intel by any means necessary. What Hawks thought would end up a relaxing staycation from work, from the League, from everything is turning out to be something causing him more stress than what it’s actually worth. Hawks is good with stress, but a strange new world (a dream? A Quirk?) where people are taken from places he’s never heard of, with abilities he’s never seen?
Eidolon has set Hawks on edge, for now, until he’s able to settle in. His thought processes and everything he thinks and says and acts like is dictated not by someone just adapting, but to the no. 2 Pro Hero adapting, and calculating, and getting ready to handle what he needs by using everything he’s got. Wings not working be damned, there has to be something he can do…
… Eh? Who’s that? Hawks stops his casual walk through the snow to look up, seeing a flash of black hair. He almost thinks it’s Dabi until he sees a familiar Hero, but relief isn’t something he feels. Rather, it’s caution. He doesn’t know Eraserhead well, and he’s not briefed on the mission that the Hero Commission so graciously assigned him. And with Dabi here - and whatever other League members that may pop up - he’s not sure how things will go. He has half a mind to keep walking, to bypass Aizawa entirely and go to the bunkhouse, his original destination. But…
Hawks guesses it’s time to play the Hero again.
“ Eraser-san! “ He says, jogging over to Bunkhouse #9 to catch the Hero. Hawks speaks it breathlessly, in relief, in solace of finding purchase in his familiar face. He smiles the smile of the personable no. 2 Hero. “ Yo, Eraser-san! Am I glad to see you… Settling in well? Is anyone else with you? No students, I hope …! Man, I feel like we haven’t seen each other since that press conference where you had to shave - seriously, what was that all about? I think I’d die if they made me shave, but I think the cam’s love the look’a the stubble, so I have to trim it and - “
The man who’s too fast for his own good - fitting that he’s a chatterbox, isn’t it?
aizawa doesn’t feel out of his element at all. as a pro hero, he is used to many situations where he’s had to adapt and change in order to survive or win a battle. aizawa’s used to being on his own, pulling his own weight and not relying on other pro heroes or fellow teachers unless needed. he saw eidolon as just another test, another activity to test if he can really be a hero. if anything, he is more annoyed that he was taken out suddenly out of his work. he has grown concerned over many things, his students, the teachers, how everyone is doing back at his world.
he’s already asked around, already talked to local folk about the place, asked how things went around. so far, he had a bit of an idea, but not nearly enough to feel comfortable in eidolon. with a lack of power and weapon, he felt determined to get them back, despite his combat ability. he keeps himself on the shadows, trying to be ready for anything and for anyone. he doesn’t know who he can meet in this world and if they can be trusted.
when he was just about to gather more information, he is stopped by no other than hawks. upon seeing the hero, the possibility that a quirk may be involved in them being there grew stronger, even if it was a little. he doesn’t know hawks well, if not at all. their personalities are more or less completely different, getting reminded a bit of mic, briefly --- both chatty, bright. aizawa would be overwhelmed if mic didn’t talk more than the no 2. hero.
“Hawks.” he replies, his voice calm and collected. “It’s been easy enough to settle in. I have seen one or two of my students here, but no one else.” he’s very much straight to the point, speaking formally, so is his nature. “It’s a shame we had to meet once more under these circumstances.” despite the seeming peacefulness of eidolon, he knows something bigger must be at play, something or someone. he remembers the press conference, yet things are a bit blurry in his memory.
“What do you know about this world so far?” having hawks as an ally would be the ideal outcome, hoping hawks would be willing to cooperate despite their lack of interactions. aizawa may not like interacting much, but he is very aware that the logical option would be working together to discover more about this world and find like-minded allies. “It’s strange, in my opinion.” he didn’t know how to properly befriend the pro hero, though.
