Cam pushes it down. She pushes it all down and does her best to file it away. Itâs harder to execute because being with Zara feels like sheâs caught fire in the holiest of ways. Itâs been like this for a while now, but she doesnât want to think about it. Sheâs numb with the thought that sheâs even put it out into the world â that sheâs told Murphy before Zara. She instead focuses on the warmth of her skin. The static electricity between them. The way her heart thumps wildly in her chest because it knows sheâs home now. âI wonât,â she whispers against her skin, terrified to pull away. Maybe itâs all a dream.Â
The strong grasp centers her. Her scalp goes tingly with the promise the grip holds. âMake me. Please make me.â It slips out in a desperate way that should embarrass her, but Cam canât find it in her to even think about it. Not when Zaraâs so solid under her, voice filled with promise and something else⌠Something sheâs not sure she wants to poke. She pulls back, eyes half lidded as she studies her. âAre you okay? Is this okay?âÂ
Zara could feel her adrenaline spike at the Camâs words, satisfied with her answer. She knew that the blonde meant what she said- truly and fully- and that had a warmth and satisfaction unlike any other seeping through her bones. âThatâs right, darling.â She murmured, pressing a kiss to her temple in a surprising show of tenderness. A moment of softness- the calm before the storm that they always managed to brew between them when they were together.  For as frustrating and upsetting as the other girlâs evasion of her was, she knew it was just Camâs way. And while Zara saw nothing wrong with her actions, she knew it shook her more than she was ready to deal with in that moment.Â
instead, she threads her fingers in the soft, fine hairs at the back base of Camâs neck, giving a sharp tug in response to her plea. âIs that what you want, Cameron? To let me be in charge and take care of you, beautiful?â The thought alone sends a shock down her spine as her other and tightens her grip at her hip, slipping beneath the fabric of her shirt- her cold hand contrasting against Camâs warm skin. âIâm more than okay.â She husked, licking her lips in anticipation. âJust- if you need me to stop, I will the moment you say so.â And without another word, she pulled her close for a harsh, searing kiss, pressing forward with an intensity she felt only in regards to the other girl.
