Dear young Christian,
Are you living out your life like you’re a Christian? And no, not the goody-goody child that has to be perfect and doesn’t cuss and doesn’t do this and that--your works don’t save you. It doesn’t matter how nice, kind, patient, smart, funny, or the amount of good things you do for others. Those things aren’t bad, but they don’t immediately indicate whether you’re living a life for God or not. I’ve met amazing people--some of the kindest and most generous people ever--but that doesn’t mean they’re really living life for Him. What does it mean to really live like a Christian?
I want to simplify it: do you love Jesus? Do you talk to Him? Do you make time for Him? Not just Sunday or Bible study, or any other time your family drags you to church. I’m talking like a Monday night before doing homework. Or a Thursday afternoon on the bus ride home. Do you make an intentional effort to be with Him daily? Do you even think of Him?
It really boils down to the question: do you actually prefer Jesus over everything else or not? And if so, do you make an effort to pursue Him? And if yes to that too, do you pursue and prefer Him because you love Him?
Don’t miss out on the vast beauty and limitless joy found in Christ. Other things may satisfy you immediately, but they never last. But I can say, Jesus truly satisfies and is eternal. He is consistent; He is awesome. He is my all in all.
