                truthfully  ,  he  couldn't  believe  he  didn't  know  or  haven't  come  in  contact  with  this  women  before  .  how  could  he  be  a  vortex  native  and  𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑  know  the  mayor  had  a  daughter  ?         (      a  hot  one  at  that  .     )         a  true  disappointment  .  then  again  ,  kai  knowing  anything  going  on  around  him  that  didn't  involve  himself  was  a  very  rare  occurrence  .  not  at  all  something  that  𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑  happened  on  purpose  .  a  laugh  fell  from  his  lips  at  her  comment  .  there  was  no  question  that  she  was  probably  the  closest  he'd  ever  been  and  ever  would  be  to  anything  royal  or  royal  adjacent  in  his  whole  life  .  the  idea  of  ever  being  around  anyone  else  with  any  political  or  world  power  like  that  . . .  myth  level  .  not  that  kai  cared  to  be  .  he  enjoyed  or  he  let  himself  believe  that  he  enjoyed  his  little  unknown  bubble  .  as  long  as  he  was  keeping  thing  exciting  ,  that's  all  he  really  cared  about  in  his  little  world  .         ❛     fair  ,  i  gotta  jot  this  moment  down  .  remember  the  day  forever  .  tell  my  future  kids  about  it  .     ❜        a  smile  as  he  narrowed  his  eyes  for  a  moment  at  the  girl  .  another  laugh  escaping  ,  the  idea  of  being  in  a  room  full  of  pigs  with  the  blonde  crossing  his  mind  for  a  split  second  .  a  sheer  moment  of  disgust  and  potential  chaos  popping  in  his  head  as  the  imagery  of  a  fake  scenario  flashed  before  his  eyes  .          ❛     wouldn't  you  say  someone  that  can  handle  managing  something  with  such  a  despicable  name  must  have  a  lot  of  strength  ?  a  bunch  of  will - power  ?  that  in  itself  is  honorable  .     ❜         he  joked  ,  honestly  ,  his  mom  didn't  work  for  a  piggly  wiggly  but  he  𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃𝐍'𝐓  begin  to  know  what  his  mother  was  up  to  these  days  anyways  .  so  lying  about  her  being  a  manager  at  a  grocery  store  he  didn't  even  know  existed  was  fair  game  .        ❛     that  being  said  ,  have  you  ever  seen  a  baby  pig  ?  i  think  your  mind  might  be  swayed  .     ❜

"  i  appreciate  your  dedication  to  finding  this  noteworthy  ,  "  it  wouldn't  be  hard  to  sense  that  this  was  complete  and  utter  sarcasm  .  although  she  did  find  it  somewhat  entertaining  initially  that  he  seemed  to  shed  such  a  disproportionate  spotlight  onto  her  status  ,  it  quickly  became  boring  to  her  .  her  mood  ,  often  rather  flat  could  change  from  welcoming  to  sharp  in  a  matter  of  seconds  .  blue  eyes  gleam  even  in  the  darkness  ,  patience  as  she  awaits  an  entertaining  twist  to  her  evening  that  makes  it  worthwhile  ,  becoming  thinner  and  thinner  by  the  second  .  whatever  was  going  through  his  head  ,  she  was  sure  ,  was  worlds  away  from  any  rational  thought  in  hers  .  she  barely  even  blinks  ,  "  believe  me  ,  i  have  no  interest  in  pigs  in  any  life  stage  .  i  might  be  more  impressed  if  your  mother  was  a  farmer  ...  or  is  that  your  next  fun  fact  ?  "  her  tone  is  sharp  ,  encouragement  for  him  to  move  along  in  the  conversation  before  she  lost  interest  .  of  course  ,  she  never  saw  it  as  the  responsibility  of  others  to  entertain  her  .  no  one  owed  anyoen  anything  ,  a  fact  that  many  often  forget  when  it  came  to  the  way  that  life  worked  in  the  end  .  her  arms  cross  over  her  torso  ,  index  finger  tapping  against  her  elbow  ,  "  why  did  you  leave  vortex  ?  "  she  can't  quite  put  her  finger  on  it  ,  prying  mainly  because  she  can  .  seriousness  of  her  tone  ,  eyes  cool  as  she  watches  him  .  before  an  answer  can  be  sought  ,  "  why  did  you  come  back  to  vortex  ?  "  she  could  be  demanding  ,  she  knew  this  ,  finding  satisfaction  on  the  verge  of  life's  ugly  discomforts  . 

"  i  look  good,  don't  i  ?  "  smirk  curled  around  plump  glossed  lips  ,  emine  cocking  her  head  to  the  side  to  challenge.  dress  ,  cinched  at  the  waist  and  low  at  the  bosom  ,  was  short  enough  to  draw  attention  but  not  short  enough  to  be  called  a  whore.  especially  the  line  she  liked  to  walk.  "  i  don't  blame  you  for  staring  ,  "  she  purred  ,  tone  sweet  like  candy  floss  ,  "  but  at  least  try  and  be  subtle  ?  "  

if  you  could  count  on  one  thing  ,  it  was  neek  not  being  shallow  enough  to  be  entangled  just  by  looks  .  he  was  often  in  a  world  of  his  own  completely  and  when  she  responds  ,  "  i  was  actually  just  wondering  who  designed  this  ensemble  ,  "  genuine  curiousity  as  he  walks  over  and  without  invitation  ,  plucks  a  piece  of  the  garment  .  "  is  this  sustainably  manufactured  ?  "  frown  lines  of  concern  .

       taz  lives  in  a  single  rented  room  with  substandard  furniture  and  a  mattress  on  the  floor  with  a  single  black  velour  blanket  .  he  rents  the  room  from  a  71  year  old  woman  called  ingrid  who  doesn’t  know  who  he  is  but  does  sometimes  check  he’s  still  alive  after  a  rough  night  on  the  town  .  when  her  grandkids  come  and  stay  in  the  other  guest  rooms  ,  taz  goes  on  vacation  except  for  once  when  he  watched  stephen  kings  it  with  her  7  year  old  grandson  and  was  awoken  by  screaming  for  the  next  five  nights  -  a  lesson  well  learned  .  considering  his  excessive  bank  balance  ,  it  is  a  true  mystery  why  he  chooses  to  live  this  way  but  in  general  ,  it’s  mainly  because  he  simply  does  not  care  about  anything  .
