I think one of my biggest fears about coming out is that people will no longer like me, that they’ll view me differently, stop talking to me, or say mean things to me. But I think that’s also all the more reason to be honest with those in my life. Perhaps if I show them that the person they cared about was gay, they will see gay people differently. And if not, then do I really want them in my life?
