☾*✧･ﾟ:*「 oh sehun. cismale. he/him. 」did you know that there’s a wizard in haneul known as yang jaehyuk? they have been living here for their entire life and is a duelist. they are currently twenty-four and was a student at crocus institute of higher magic in the house valerian. i heard that they are known to be selfish, but worry not ! i heard they are also very alluring too. remember to stay out of trouble, the ju jak are lurking around every corner !
BACKSTORY ;
yang jaehyuk was born on april 12, 1994, and he is the oldest of three siblings and most likely considered the problem child. his parents are very important people in hyeon mu, being apart of the council that helps make the major decisions for the entire organization. they’re loaded with money and entitlement, and the majority of the magi community probably know his parents.
his parents were never in a happy marriage — they were arranged by jaehyuk’s grandparents to ‘ protect ’ this empire they built where a member of both bloodlines would remain on the council. growing up, he was a witness to the both of them constantly arguing, yelling at each other, walking out on each other and accusing the other of things he wasn’t certain of being false like he hoped. so absorbed in their hatred for each other and their circumstances, he never saw them as anything other than people forced to be in his life.
with that being said, he definitely never had a close relationship with them. early on in his life, they tried to mold him into their perfect son ; the perfect product of two seemingly perfect people. however, he was rebellious and non-compliant because he strongly disliked them as people, so they gave up and tried again with another kid. this is the beginning of his rocky / non-existent relationship with his parents, and eventually his younger brother too.
although his parents provided him with whatever he wanted & needed ( mostly to get him to stop annoying them if they didn’t ), you can’t imagine the pain he felt knowing he meant absolutely nothing than a waste of their money. not only had he lost his parents, but he lost his brother too — even if they were in the same room. then his younger sister was born, and he vowed to not let them hurt her like they hurt him, immediately taking her under his wing.
it wasn’t a hard process either, considering they already had their perfect child and didn’t need another. both work-oriented and obsessed with ‘ training ’ their heir, even with numerous nannies jaehyuk practically raised her himself. he wanted to protect her, and didn’t want to see the harsh reality the two of them lived in despite it looking picture-perfect on the outside ; even if it meant lying to her and sugarcoating the fact that their parents and their brother didn’t necessarily love them, at least she knew she could rely on him and that at least he definitely loves her.
due to his relationship with his parents, and growing up front-row to their loveless marriage, he grew up viewing love negatively — so much that he completely despises it. he gave love a chance once, and was in a loving relationship for four years before he completely fucked it up, overthinking a couple text messages and broke up with them immediately. he believes love wasn’t meant for him, as all of his relationships seem to always go wrong, whether it’s his fault or not.
jaehyuk has earned quite a notorious reputation, known for charming his way into people’s lives ( and their beds ) and disappearing just as quickly as he intruded with little to no feelings about it. he indulges in shallow relationships that give him a necessary amount of affection for a night or night, and immediately cuts them off in order to remain detached and lonesome. scared of being hurt and scared of something new, he doesn’t care if feelings are hurt if it means the feelings hurt are not his own.
he may have lost his heir status a long time ago, but that doesn’t stop the oldest son from doing his best to spite his parents. he eventually graduated from crocus institute as a valerian, and became a duelist within hyeon mu to absolutely spite his parents who believed he wouldn’t be able to. he gave up his dream of being a professor one day, but as long as he can continue to annoy his parents by going beyond their expectations it’s fine.
unfortunately for him, he sees them at least once or twice a week and he is able to keep the facade, acting as if they’re all close, but it’s far from the truth. he moved out soon after graduating in order to put some much needed space between him and the most toxic people in his life, and he hates that he has to see them so often even if it’s just for work. to other people it’s admirable and inspiring to see a family working together in the same space, but if you asked him, he barely recognizes them despite knowing them his entire life.
he does not believe he needs love in his life, and hardly believes it even exists. he doesn’t see the point of having something he coins with pain in his life and turns down any opportunity to experience the real thing again, knowing it’s him that will fuck it up somehow and be a repeat of his parents. he hates the thought of being alone, and absolutely wishes deep down that it didn’t have to be this way, but he recognizes loneliness as home and always has.
FUN FACTS ;
he doesn’t do relationships. he usually cuts off people he’s slept with after one night with them, but if it’s really good then maybe they’ll do it again a second time. any other time after that requires a fwb deal.
he lives alone in a luxury loft apartment, and doesn’t usually invite people over regardless of their relationship with him. it’s nothing personal, it’s just that it’s his space and wants it to himself. the only people above this rule are his sister and his best friend ( whoever that may be ).
jaehyuk is known to be blunt and doesn’t care — he’s not completely unapproachable, and definitely doesn’t mind company with boundaries as long as they don’t care about his sharp tongue !
definitely doesn’t push people into sleeping with him if they say no to him. he’s not interested in chasing due to the idea that he may get attached.
although his job requires him to technically be enemies with humans, he really likes humans. he’s interested in their life without magic.
he has a toyger named ‘ lana ’ and she is a couple months old. he rescued her from an alley near his home and decided to keep her after ( reluctantly ) growing attached when he brought her to the vet the morning after.
has definitely killed members of the ju jak before, and has little to no regret for what he’s done. it’s part of his job and he doesn’t care for people who wouldn’t hesitate to kill him first if they had a chance. however, lately he’s been just leaving those recognizable ju jak members with banter and unfinished ' duels ’ for no reason. prolonging the end only makes it that much better, right?
he has three tattoos: a barcode tattoo with the date he graduated from crocus on his left wrist, a wolf tattoo on his right shoulder and a compass on the back of his neck. he plans to get more eventually.
definitely has a liscense to drive both a car and a motorcycle. he usually drives his harley davidson everywhere he goes but loves to show off his two luxury cars as well.
