first monday of december. happy study & good luck with all the term assignments, everyone! āļø
one of my lecturers printed us a step-by-step guide to writing an essay for an assignment we had. i decided to type it up and share it with you guys. i think for the most part it is really useful and a super simple way to break down your essay. hope this helps :~)

stinky study buddy!!
thursday, april 8thĀ ā¢Ā an honest bujo flip-thruĀ on 98ths
when we first entered shelter-in-place, i somehow managed to stay motivated and largely productive + creative for pretty much an entire year, but then when my ~*pandemic anniversary*~ hit itās like a switch just turned off and i lost so much of my motivation and interest in things š
but you know what! sometimes bullet journals are unfinished! sometimes you donāt strike off most of your habit tracker! sometimes you donāt feel like partaking in what you used to enjoy! and even though this feeling might suck! iām really trying to remind myself not to be extra hard on myself when this does happen!!
hereās my brainstorming process for writing essays! the example questions i used are pretty straightforward but i use this for more abstract essay questions as well.
Iām a simple woman. I find a song I like, I listen to it for three weeks uninterrupted until I find another one.

An Overview of Note-Taking Styles
Note-taking is one of the most essential skills a student should master. It allows you to record and review information to be used in the future. But whatās the best way to do so? Hereās an overview of note-taking styles that can help you maximize your learning!
journal series: I canāt tell you how grateful I am that this quarter is over! this was by far the busiest and most stressful quarter at uni Iāve ever experienced so Iām happy to say that after all the work, Iām finally back to doing what I love- making art, relaxing, journaling, and just taking time to take care of myself.
Iāve been making so much art lately and I really just feel so happy to be in a position where I have the time to be creative; hereās a little piece I made for my journal! Iāve also decided to make my art hobby a little business, since as yall know I lost my job to the pandemic earlier this year. if you want to support my art or even commission me for personalized collage piece, you can find all that info on my art instagram! my commissions are open and Iāve been having so much fun making stuff for people.Ā I appreciate all your love and support, as always :)

The sun showed itself officially for the last time today so civil twilight will follow until January 15 šššš
ok so I was going to write a different caption for this but I honestly have no idea wtf Iām doing right now lol.Ā so far this quarter has been the busiest Iāve ever had- Iām taking 19 credits (the highest Iāve ever taken), started working at my first internship, doing work with some community activist organizations, planning what my life is going to look like over the next year, not to mention⦠surviving during an election year in a global pandemic). needless to say, I am very tired.Ā itās all just a lot and last week I finally burnt out.Ā
tbh it feels wrong to complain about everything Iām doing because itās all stuff that I genuinely love (other than analyzing founding father speeches for my communication of public address class) but I guess I really just have to keep reminding myself that work is work, and productivity isnāt admirable if you never take a break. you donāt have to earn the right to rest- whatās important is that you prioritize it. my life will work itself out one way or another. everything is going to be okay. sending you lots of love xxx

How to Write a Cover Letter that Gets You Noticed
Most people would prefer to be eaten alive slowly than write a cover letter
Letās be honest, talking about yourself and your experience can be just plain awkward and weāll avoid it at all costs.
In some cases we LOVE talking about ourselves but what makes a cover letter the opposite? It is the fact that we feel like we have to sell ourselves and we canāt be our genuine selves? Or is that we feel like someoneās judging us?
Honestly, for most people, itās all those things.
Trust me, Iāve been there. I love sharing stories and talking about myself yet when I read my old cover letter they felt icky and impersonal. I felt like I was trying to sell myself and in turn, it was obvious I was being disingenuous.
It all changed when I discovered personal branding in college.
Personal branding is all about creating a narrative (story) about your life that connects with your audience (in this case the job).
That was my big AHA moment because storytelling felt much easier than āpitching myselfā
This is how I did it
For every cover letter I did, I created a āthesisā statement. Now stick with me, I know thesis statements get a bad rep but they actually simplify the cover letter writing process
The thesis question is: What experience do you have that prepared you for the position youāre about to take on?
(Yes Iām speaking in the present tense because you need to be thinking in present tense)
This is where your story comes in and you can start being creative.
Cookie-cutter cover letters have lost their appeal. So many people have hacked the cover letter process itās lost its edge and recruiters are seeing the same cover letters over and over again. How boring?!
By telling a story in three to five paragraphs you give your recruiter something to connect to and a break from all the other āhereās my resume in paragraph formā cover letter.
Now for all my non-writing people out there, how do you create a narrative?
KEEP READINGĀ
I do like that this pandemic has got us all greeting each other like Jane Austen characters-Ā āYou are well, I hope? And your family? All in good health?
