When I finally got a diagnosis...
At first it was like…
But then I realised that a doctor just confirmed I was right all along, and it was more like…
Followed by…
Since my surgery was unsuccessful at treating my endo pain, and I'm not keen to getting the monthly injections I am exploring alternative options. I'm beginning this diet. Basics: - No Dairy - No red meat - No soy - No refined sugar - No caffeine It sounds a lot like a paleo diet. It's also know as an anti-inflammatory diet. This diet is claimed to having reduce endo pain and it's worth a shot! In the book on top, they explain why each of the above are removed from the diet. Mostly because they either promote inflammation or mess with your different hormones. I've been slowly making changes everyday. It's hard to eat out, but I'm sure that as I get used to it it will become easier and easier. We shall see! All I know is I'm sick of doctors and want to see what I can do to change the way I feel before I give up all that power to a monthly injection.
My doctor said that my scars are not heeling well so he suggested I use these silicone scar sheets. They were around $26, and each strip can be used up to 7 days. They are supposed to protects the area and also help the scar become lighter and less hard. I'll let you know how it goes!
Makes such a difference when you have a support group. I am so lucky to have amazing friends. Today one of my best friends and her two children came to visit me, one day post op. My other friends husband also came by with soup. So grateful

The Waiting Game - Diagnostic Laproscopy
After nearly a year of pain, uncertainty and doubt, going through countless tests, exams, ultrasounds and multiple rounds of hormone therapy and having vials and vials of blood drawn; I shed gallons of tears and  experienced maddeningly unrelenting pain and at times became so disconnected from my own person, I felt I was waving goodbye forever to the woman I once was. This has all led to a nightmarish beacon of hope -the diagnostic laproscopy.
The waiting game is almost over. Tomorrow; Tuesday, May 6th 2014, I will be having my first Laproscopy to officially diagnose and treat my endometriosis. This has been months in the works and has been a nightmare. The pain, the anticipation, the uncertainty and all the unanswered questions, the numerous test, blood test, exams and unltrasounds have all come to this one moment of truth. Yet, the most annoying part of this all has been dealing with my health insurance companies, medical billing departments, and finding medical providers who offer the treatment I need who accept my insurance. I can go on for pages on this subject, but for now I will leave it.Â
I know I can't "say" I have endometriosis until an official surgical diagnosis, but like my doctor said: "the chances of us finding nothing, based off your symptoms and family history, are slim to none". So, I guess I am just not kidding myself. Both of my Aunts (mothers sisters) had full hysterectomies because of this disease. This was also fourty years ago, so I know that the treatment and diagnosis has come a long way. I am staying positive.
Because of my family history and personal importance of being able to conceive I am also opting to get the tubal patency testing. If there are any obstructions in my tubes, if they are able they will remove them at the time of the surgery.
The way I think about it, is you can let an experience like this bring you down, or let it empower you. I choose empowerment, because me, and my vagina, are resilient creatures of god, of the universe, of evolution and of my own born and earned strength.
 Wish me luck xx
