Lately I have been getting a lot of comments about how "good" I look for my age. I am pretty sure most people mean that as a compliment. Or, maybe not. But, I started thinking about it today and I feel like that statement implies there is an expectation of how most women my age or older look or should look. Age It is just a number and not a reflection of how we feel. But, why do I get the feeling I am expected to look like a train wreck💀 at that age? Thank God I look "good" for my age! 👁 Personally, the most beautiful older women I know wear their age with dignity and grace. The lines in their faces show a lifetime of smiles and frowns and tears. The skin on their hands is soft and fine with pronounced blue veins. Those hands have prepared meals to nourish others, held their husband and children and prayed to their God. I think of my Grandmother (I miss her still) who was beautiful until the day she passed she was 79. My mother and my fav aunt Betty who in their 60's are just as beautiful as they have always been. I guess you could say they look "good" for their age. But, why would you? 🤔 OK, this is turning into quite a rambling status. So, if you are going to pay a compliment to anyone simply say, "You look good (or great, or marvelous )". Period. Skip the "for your age" bit.🚫 Or, any other modifier for that matter. Looking good is good enough. After all, we all want to look good, don't we? That's why we are here. We are developing healthier lifestyles because we want to "look" and "feel" good for a very long time! Ok so now that is out of my system 👍Happy Mothers day to all the mothers all ages you are all beautiful👈
