Scuffle of the Shapes - Challenge 1 - Four Off a Thousand
[After falling through the door-space for what feels like half an hour, you finally land, body crashing whatever-body-part-first onto a hard floor.]
[You get up, and look around. You seem to be in an arena-like place, a bit reminiscent of the CotC finale’s arena. A single Null is standing in the middle of the arena.]
“Welcome, competitors.”
[They sound… about what one would imagine one of these to sound like. Despite their serious tone they still sound a bit cute.]
“Today, your first challenge of the Scuffle of the Shapes will commence. I hope you’ve all prepared.”
“The first challenge will be a test of endurance and strength. Your goal is to defeat as much of myself as you can.”
[The Null looks to the sides. You follow their gaze and see some more of them appear.]
“We will be changing our way of fighting depending on your fighting style, so it comes down to either continuously attacking you full-force, or a test of endurance with multiple one-on-one battles in a row.”
[More Nulls start to appear.]
“And if you think you can defeat all of us easily, then think again. There are exactly 996 of me, so it will be an upward battle for you, even if you may have powerful weaponry and we don’t. We’ll always have the number's advantage”
[Two large screens above the arena light up. One displays a timer that will later serve as a stopwatch. The second shows a counter of the amount of Nulls defeated.]
“Bonus points will be given out based on either how long you hold out, or if you end up defeating everyone, by how quickly you defeat all of us.”
“Now, I suggest prepping yourself, as the 5-minute timer will start when I say ‘go’.”
[As soon as he says “go”, the timer starts, the milliseconds rapidly clicking down.]
“wait crud i-”
“George, you ruined it!” [A Null in the crowd shouts.]
“Hey, I didn’t mean-!” [The main Null, George, shouts back.]
“Shut up George!” [Another Null says. The crowd quickly devolves into banter over the early timer.]
[George quickly turns back to the competitors.]
“Okay just… prepare! You prepare! Your timer starts now!”
[You start preparing yourself as the Nulls start arguing. You have a feeling by the time the timer ends, they will immediately turn their attention and violence to you, so you must prepare yourself.]
[Meanwhile, another Null shouts.]
“George, you forgot the deadline, flowerhead! It’s in 9 weeks!”
“I GET IT! SHUT UP!”
[…You get the feeling this will either be an easy or tedious battle.]

The silly partners in crime and adventure, Nyx and Nero!
For the last while i've been playing a long running dnd campaign with my friends and it was so much fun playing around with these two i decided to keep them and their lore.
Nyx is an elegant traveling songstress and violin player with a past shrowded in mystery. Likes to put shows on city festivals.
Nero is a bright and curious little crow who helps out at his caretaker's shop by day and scouts out crime by night in the desert streets of Amarya. Can get a little skittish at times but otherwise is pretty friendly for a rogue.
Nino is an another returning character and is actually the shape who changed the least from when i last drew his proper ref sheet (which was all the way back in 2022). Mostly simplified and altered some of his details for ease of drawing
