A proposed total abortion ban in Poland will not be implemented, a member of the government has said, describing mass protests against the ban as a lesson in humility for the country’s leadership.

Jarosław Gowin, the minister of science and higher education, said on Wednesday that the protests by women had “caused us to think and taught us humility”.

The comments appear to indicate that Poland’s conservative leadership will withhold support from the highly unpopular proposal to ban abortions even in cases of rape, incest or when the mother’s life is at risk.

The rightwing government, led by the Law and Justice party, has been under international pressure not to move forward with the plan, with a debate scheduled for Wednesday in the European parliament on the situation of women in Poland.

They will implement this ban anyway, just not all at once - they’ll keep tightening the laws until the result is exactly the same as the original idea. They’ll use diversion to keep it under wraps until it’s too late to do anything about it. This is the way of PiS. Just wait and see.

Even with the current law which theoretically allows women to terminate pregnancies in which the fetus isn’t viable or otherwise incompatible with life, these women are still being forced to give birth. They’re forced to carry to term, knowing there’s no happy end ahead of them. They’re forced to watch their babies die minutes, hours, days later. It is inhumane.

The government has proposed a one-time grant of approximately $1,000 for giving birth to a deformed baby. After this, dear mother, you are on your own. 

20th Anniversary

Anime adaptation of Minekura’s “Saiyuki Reload Blast” manga confirmed!

The news was announced along with “Saiyuki Festa 2017” to held in Makuhari Messe on January 7th. The project is part of 20th anniversary of Saiyuki manga.

So I came across this picture as I was searching the web (as I do) and I don’t know if it was ever posted on Tumblr at the time, but like, I know this was a scene from the extras and I just want to share the fact that she took a not-in-character scene of the actors being dweebs and made it canon, because watching it felt like canon.
