𝓦𝓱𝓲𝓽𝓮 𝓥𝓸𝓲𝓭

This man was demanding. So much so that the teen had half a nerve to respond with a bite in his tone. However, that power the one before him had was enough to continuously scare the wits out of him had taken that idea out of him as quickly as it came. Naoto wondered how he was going to answer; should he lie, or should he tell the truth– either way it could end badly if the man in armor didn’t like it. 

“I got lost, to put it simply.“ Well, it was a reason. “I’m just looking for my friend. She tends to explore more than what can be considered healthy.“

This Naoto character was just raising more questions than answers with his replies. Everything he said only made the situation more unclear in Hakumen’s eyes, and he was not keen on continuously asking questions all day until he got somewhere with him. Time to switch things up so things would go by faster.

As if Hakumen didn’t have enough troubles with Terumi being a thorn in his side, now he had to deal with the Imperator posing another threat to the world. Or perhaps he should call her Izanami, as she so preferred. In short, he had his hands tied and was buried up to his shoulders in his duty, so he had to constantly be on the move, keeping an eye out for any sign of trouble. 

So the last thing he wanted right now was distractions, but of course it was too much to ask for as he had unfortunately come face to face with one of what he considered to be the most aggravating nuisances to ever exist throughout the course of history.

Honestly Kagura thought the title of “Miracle Worker” would be fitting for him at this point. He had managed to get Kokonoe and Rachel to work together-somewhat and Ragna to comply as well, granted it was easy when the first two mentioned knew how to boss him around. Jinny was another one that didn’t play nice with others and if memory served correct tried to kill Ragna when he ran into him at Kagura’s NOL branch in Ibukido. Long story short, getting all the problem children to work together toward a common goal was a miracle.

Leaning against his Zweihander, he didn’t let Haukmen’s harsh tone get to him. It actually reminded him of Jin a bit, actually. So it far from the first time Kagura had to deal with someone with an attitude. “The fate of everyone under the rule of the NOL important enough for you?” It was a rhetorical question.

“The Imperator has made the quite the list of enemies from what I’ve seen, The Grim Reaper, Kokonoe, Rachel Alucard and from I hear, you’re not a fan of her either.” He said in a casual tone as he continued to speak. “Since you want this quick, you’ll get the short version. Since a simple assassination won’t work most likely, having three of the remaining six heroes all fight her at once might do it.” Might is the key word here. 

The fate of all under the NOL’s rule, huh? Well, this was indeed a situation which warranted Hakumen’s attention, and in all honesty, his duty did encompass protecting the present and future of the populace, so it seemed he would be able to engage fully in what Kagura had to say.

His remark about him not being a fan of the Imperator was true, but it was common knowledge that anyone fighting against the Librarium as of late was not a fan of the Imperator. Hakumen chose to keep silent as creating an argument about stating the obvious would just create unnecessary conflict and would waste what little time they had. Then there was the idea of the three remaining Heroes taking on the Imperator at once. Yes, it was an idea, but Kagura should know why that isn’t exactly the smartest or easiest thing to pull off.

“Surely you jest. If the solution was that simple Black Knight, then I would have employed it long ago when we had more time. You must be able to see the problems that such a tactic would encounter.” Hakumen replied coldy as he shook his head. “You know the situation as well as I do. We cannot attempt such fool-hardy attacks in the hopes of getting lucky. We need a definitive plan!” Hakumen added on impatiently.

With the Takamagahara system in the Imperator’s hands, this world was on a one way trip to its untimely end. Not only that, but until they had a strong plan, they had to stay on the defensive, ready to react to anything. That, and he also had to worry about Terumi and Relius causing trouble.

Yeah, that went south really fast. Naoto jumps at the sudden threat, looking like a deer in headlights. The teen nods as quickly as he can, unable to use his voice. The man before him was serious, and he had no choice but to reply, unless he wanted to be cut down in less than 5 seconds. 

“Naoto. Naoto Kurogane.” The teen values his life, and if it means making sure he lives another day, he’ll give into demands.

Naoto Kurogane, huh? Hakumen had never heard of such a character before. Yes, it could just be some random stranger, but Hakumen could not dismiss that he showed up in response to the Imperator making her move. If it were the latter, then they were going to have some serious problems.

Just what was this place... If Hakumen recalled correctly, he last stopped at the NOL to listen to a so called brilliant strategy devised by that damned Grimalken. If he was correct, then just what was he doing on an isolated island?! 

Hakumen had so many questions, and by the look of it, they weren’t going to be answered anytime soon as it appeared he was alone here. Well, the best course of action to take right now was to look around for any kind of clue as to his whereabouts and if he could get back to the Hierarchical Cities. 

During his exploration of this mysterious island, he did end up finding something rather odd. Or should he say...

Someone.

The presence that comes by him is nothing short of terrifying. It was threatening to eat him whole, possibly by cutting him to shreds. However, there was something about that presence that continues to remind him of that one girl– something-or-other Justice. Scarlet Justice, was it? Naoto could never remember. Simply looking up at him takes a bit of courage, and he hopes from the bottom of his heart he doesn’t have to fight him.

“Ehe… Is there something you need of me?” Let’s not get him mad now.

This... Feeling. The only way Hakumen could describe this feeling was... Wrong. This boy exuded an aura that just didn’t sit right with Hakumen; it was almost paradoxical in a way. Yet at the same time, it was slightly similar. Something wasn’t adding up, and uncertainties were very dangerous to have at the current moment. Hakumen needed answers, and he would get them however he saw fit.

“You dare sully such pristine technique with your repugnant being?!”

It wasn’t often Hakumen put his work on hold. With the Imperator making her move and Terumi running amok, Hakumen had no time to slow down or rest. If he showed any form of weakness now, who knows what those accursed individuals would do with that moment of reprise. That is why he dedicated himself to snuffing out those evils once and for all.

Yet...

He knew such a feat would be impossible on his own, much to his displeasure. There were far too many factors that he could neither overcome, nor predict with one hundred percent certainty. He had to obtain assistance, whether it be from the damn vampire... or even Ragna, and now was one of those times.

Kagura Mutsuki was a wild card; he could either be a complete imbecile, or a useful tool in advancing his goal, and that’s why Hakumen was taking a risk with putting his goal on hold to listen to what Kagura had wanted from him.

“You call that a Summer’s Advance? Even Ragna could do better than that!”
