Ā Ā The little girlās face grew a worried look. The other didnāt look okay; in fact, it looked like sheās in great pain. She was shaky, and looked like she could cry at any moment. Was she another time patroller like her? What should she doā¦? The child gently floats over, sitting down beside her as she lands.
Ā Ā āAre you okayā¦?ā
A hand was pressed against her chest as Willow grimaced. It was followed by a small gasp and, with greatĀ effort, she forced herself to walk forward. It hurt... It alwaysĀ hurt.
This time... a patroller, Marik? He had made a mistake and his partner had lost their arm. She didnāt blame him and she still intended to continue on, even if it meant learning to work with a prosthetic arm, but that did little to ease his mistake. Their line of work was dangerous and mistakes were bound to happen-- and yet still he had been on the verge of tearing himself apart from the pain he felt.
Willow had pulled it from him and it had been worth itĀ to see his smile when he hugged Tenno, and her smile in turn. It was clear there was more than just friendship between them and this could have been the deathstrokeĀ to that.Ā
Her knees went weak and Willow stumbled, losing her balance and falling to the ground. Pain vibrated through her legs but she ignored it as she turned so that, at the very least, she was sittingĀ on the ground.
Willow let out a low groan as her eyes shut-- and then they snapped back open at the sound of anotherās voice. She glanced over to see a child there, and forced herself to offer up a smile.
āMmm. Yes, of course. W-why do you ask?ā Strain was near-palpable in her tone, but Willow did her best to hide it.
