“Half your social group could  bleed you dry  in two minutes or less - and you’re creeped out by some spooky old lore? Not sure your priorities are exactly in line, Elena.” 

“Could? Yes. Would? Never. That’s the difference between you and them, Katherine. My friends don’t bleed every minor inconvenience dry. I actually feel sorry for you. Must be a lonely way to live. -and even you have to admit that story is a little spooky.”

HUFFS  as  hands  cross  in  front  of  her chest - she runs a tight schedule, and coffee hadn’t been on her original agenda. STILL, the aroma is enticing and they could easily make up for lost time later in the day.          “ALRIGHT. One – maybe two cups and then we’re on the road, deal?” 

NOBODY knew how Caroline was better than Elena... except maybe Bonnie. Sometimes Elena felt like she knew her best friends better than she knew herself... but they were all changing, evolving. They weren’t the same kids they were even a year ago, but the blonde was still the same old Caroline she knew and loved. Same control freak Caroline. “Deal- two cups and we’re gone... but shouldn’t we wait for the others?”

“ yeah, you’re  a  major  buzzkill,  elena.  we  know. ”

“ uh,  no.   i  — was  visiting.  i  have  family  here. ”
