Emotional Packrat

1. Whisper of the Heart (1994) - My forever favorite comfort movie. While I relate heavily to the main character, the life lessons are something I think anyone can benefit from, and the atmosphere of the entire film is endlessly charming. I love it with my whole heart.

2. Pride & Prejudice (2005) - I'm sure this one is on a lot of people's lists. Nothing can beat the romance in this film. I absolutely am in love with Mr. Darcy.

3. Under the Tuscan Sun (2003) - My family spends a lot of time in this area of Italy. The eclectic cast of characters and beautiful landscapes the main character comes across are all very accurate representations to me. Watching it feels like coming home.

4. A Good Year (2006) - I've been watching this film with my mom since it came out. It's about an egotistical British stoke broker (Russell Crowe of all people) who ends up inheriting his late uncle's estate in Provence. It's a little cheesy, but severely underrated.

5. Begin Again (2013) - Wow... I guess there'll be two Keira Knightley films on this list. Another severely underrated film about a young British musician displaced in nyc after a breakup, and the washed up producer she meets who decides to help her make an album. The scene where he first sees her perform is one of my favorites in cinema. Also, killer soundtrack. I'll watch the movie just for the music.

6. Midnight in Paris (2011) - I'm predictable... This film caters to everything I love: Paris, the 1920s, main character is a writer, amazing romance (oops looks like Marion Cotillard showed up twice too...) Some of the characters are a bit annoying and the plot can be a bit cheesy, but I love it.

7. Howl's Moving Castle (2004) - I don't really think I need to explain myself on this one. You guys know how I feel about it.
