Well this space has been dormant for a veryyy long time now. Since my last update Charles has turned 5yrs old and we have welcomed a sibling to our family. Brielle will be 4yrs old in a month!
I am now on my 4th biologic to manage PsA and that has been a winner so far with the best blood test results i have ever had since being diagnosed 7yrs ago. Still taking methotrexate as an injection weekly to compliment things. Its not great but the overall management is the best.
I was on the path to get a hysterectomy as my menstrual cycle really influence my arthritis. Being so young though the ObGyn is against it and advised that the hormone replacement therapy is just as likely to increase my susceptibility to breast cancer as oestrogen type birth control. I did trial the Depo Provera as a pseudo hysterectomy. This did improve my arthritis symptoms significantly but i did end up in emergency with suicidal ideation so stopped that as soon as I realised the connection.
Its been a chaotic 5 years to be honest and the majority of this update is just covering a fraction of the last 12 months. I am coming up to 12 months since i ended up in ED and narrowly avoided being admitted (there were a bunch of conditions including 24hr supervision and all sharps and medications being locked away). I wouldn’t say I’m recovered but I am in remission. My family keep me here. They give me a reason to want to keep going.
