I create three press release layouts in the same style as my final design boards by scanning in different angles. Therefore, it keeps a coherent look across this FMP section of my portfolio.
For each press release layout I enlarged the scanned image from the design boards and worked out where I could place the writing, collection name, logo and press release specific information.
To keep a similar blue shade to the design boards I changed the contrast of each layout.

A few behind the scenes images from the photoshoot for my garment.
These are my four final design boards which include my three main ones and the one for my final illustration along with specification drawing.
They are all coherent and it is easy to tell that they are all based around the same theme and are part of one collection.

These are some step by step images of how I created my illustration of my garment for my final board
Here are my final nine designs that are now ready to go on my design boards along with the collection name and logo.
This is final design board idea for my FMP. The hyperlapse shows me experimenting with how to present the designs on each board both with and without layout paper.
This is the third of my design board ideas. The hyperlapse shows me experimenting with how to present the designs on each board both with and without layout paper to decide on which would look best for my final boards.Β

For my final garment, I embroidered an anchor onto each collar with black embroidery thread for a stunning look. It is a classic piece of the nautical theme that everyone recognises. I used interfacing on the back of the collar to make sure it was strong and kept itβs neat shape even after the embroidery. After this is finished the collar pieces will be stitched together and attached to the dress.
This hyperlapse shows a little bit of the process of embroidering.
These images show me stitching the collar in place on the garment followed by attaching the facings to complete the neat finish which we see in the final image. The nautical feel of the anchors really brings the collar to life.
I attached a long length zip to the back of my garment before hemming the garment.
This post shows a documentation of the sleeves for my garment.

These images show the making process of putting the skirt together, starting with the pleating, then attaching the skirt to the bodice.
The bodice and waistband stitched together for my final garment. This was completed once I had stitched the darts in and attached the side seams and shoulder seams as well as then attaching the waistband.
