What’s happening, Creators?
Over the past couple of days, I have been creating design boards and the visuals to go on them. An issue I am having is with the technical specification. The measurements are correct but they are different to the original due to the angled sides and cut away pieces for the brackets.
When I put my initial ideas and sketches on the document, I realised I had completely changed my designs for this brief. Originally, I was designing the interior and researching foldable furniture and tiny living spaces whereas now, I’ve moved to the exterior and the overall structure of the pod.
Recently, I have also been thinking about the final model I have to make. I like the look of the development model, however, I won’t use thread this time. I cannot make the bracket as I’m struggling to make a digital version to 3D print and it will take too much time. I’m thinking about reducing the number of holes on the shapes and using something like cable ties to stop the boards from moving.
For the future pod brief, I have been brainstorming and trying to use hexagonal shapes as they worked so well for the Emmaus brief. During the show and tell ages ago, my tutor mentioned a process of creating concrete housing with only water. I researched this and found the company, Concrete Canvas. I will see how my ideas develop with this design idea.
