More things I love about Darker Than Black’s story-telling when it comes to Hei and Yin, because every time I watch these scenes, my heart bursts.

I love how at the end of Episode 12, Hei looks completely lost. But then, he sees Yin’s spirit.

Yin’s spirit coming to him brings Hei back to himself. It’s ultimately what allows him to pull himself together in time to leave the scene. We even see him thanking Yin for this later.

However, that is not the only time Yin is there to bring Hei back to his senses.

In Episode 16, Hei comes face to face with Amber  — the only main player in his past alongside his sister and a woman he may or may not have loved. Yet, what are we shown?

When Hei is about to lash out, Yin instinctively calls out to him  — No!

And Hei immediately reacts. He looks up, surprised, at the sound of her voice  — and it is then that he is frozen in time.

How fitting is it that we have Amber staring right at him  — yet Hei is frozen, looking at Yin?

It’s absolutely fantastic imagery, but what it symbolizes is much bigger than that. Amber essentially represents a way for Hei to go back to all the people he has lost, yet as he faces her, he looks beyond her at the girl who will ultimately represent the choice he makes at the end of the series.

I mean she's so late in game but no girl intrigued me, until this girl showed up. Maybe because I like mature and soft woman idk, but when I played her father dungeon and dove further into her SL, i just realised damn this girl is strong af. If i were her fighting alone in something i dont even know, having lecher of a fiancé and noone to rely on, I'll kill myself damn. But she stays strong and keep going, moved on no matter what and she always polite, always smiling. She just sold me in that way, then I just realised that no matter what that Akira always cheer her on and she said she will be there for him too. and I was like damn girl... GET MARRIED BOTH OF YALL!

And thank God they engaged lolololololol now marry and produce thousands of bebeh Haru Akira!!!!

- They are a very loving couple, far more than anyone would expect.

- Though, they tend to keep their affectionate sides behind closed doors, due to Akira being the “Delinquent Transfer Student” and Haru the daughter of Okumura. 

- They constantly drink coffee and tea together in their rooms as a way to relax, and do gardening.

- Akira teaches Haru how to make coffee properly while Haru shows him how to care for plants in exchange. 

- When it comes to movie dates, Haru usually chooses horror movies, thinking that they’re fun.

- While Akira doesn’t mind what types of movies he watches, he usually is a bit terrified of Haru, seeing her smile still on her as characters are having unspeakable things done to them.

- It’s the same smile she has while in the metaverse, hacking and slashing shadows into pieces.

— The relationship between Akira and Haru is the sweetest , and purest one that anyone can form. Lots of sweet conversations , pet name is ‘darling , dearest , love’ , lots of hand holding and just- my heart-

— When haru is focused and working on her garden , Akira likes to sneak up to her and give her a surprise hug. It usually ends with a bunch of dirt on their faces.

— I bet haru is pretty skilled at cooking/baking. She’ll often cook the most bizarre , yet delicious dishes for her lovely boyfriend. The best part is , many ingredients are organic.

— Haru is Akira’s happy pill. He’ll sneak over to her bedroom whenever he’s feeling down , cuddle her , and he’d instantly feel much better.

— This one is a little sad , but there is times where Akira doubts if he’s being a good boyfriend to Haru. You see , she’s extremely sweet , kind , understanding. But most of all , she’s a secret badass. She’s so wonderful , Akira can’t deny it. Haru always finds a way to cheer him up , though.

Shows up all bloody and wrecked in order to avoid standing up Yor The woman he wanted to <fake> marry ends up proposing marriage to him Loid: ‘Heh, all according to plan.’ Yet ends up face-planting anyway, so cool so suave, the world’s best spy and smoothest lady-killer, everybody

Tells <fake> daughter they can live in a castle if there’s one for sale, actually rents a castle and pulls out all stops and plays Bondman in front of thousands of spies he works with just to indulge said <fake> daughter

Loid: FOR THE MISSION.

Both his <fake> daughter and <fake> wife get insulted by a smug asshole Loid: ‘Endure it. We’re not a real family anyway.’ Goes ballistic part 2 and ends up annihilating the table (it was either that or the smug asshole’s face) despite most certainly failing the interview and his mission as a result  

Loid: FOR THE MISSIon

Exhausted yet spends a day-off with his family while wanting to turn down an actual mission Loid: ‘A threat to my family is a threat to world peace.’

Loid: FOR THE MISHUN

Feels guilty about bugging his <fake> wife, and worried about her relationship with her colleagues, buys cake for their <fake> anniversary, confirmed master seducer and has bagged so many women over the years according to Franky, yet blushes at simple hand contact and the prospect of sharing a bed like an actual high school boy instead of the cool and collected spy he’s supposed to be..!!!
