I'm writing this for those who doesn't watch boruto series and read the manga.

I didn't watch Boruto too and I was shocked when they said Naruto adopted Kawaki, almost angry even. Because we've seen how busy he is as a hokage and his own children can't get enough attention from him. So why?

People gave me these reason:

Kawaki reminds Naruto of himself

Enemy wants Kawaki

He didn't want Kawaki feels lonely

He didn't want Kawaki turn evil like Sasuke

All these reasons felt unreasonable to me because:

it's common for orphans to grow up alone as we have seen with Naruto and Sasuke. Kawaki will never be the last child that fall victim to this cruel shinobi world, so does Naruto going to adopt more children?

And if he really need a guardian, why Naruto, the hokage, had to take the responsibility? Why the special treatment? Surely others can take the responsibility.

Even without officially adopting Kawaki, Naruto can still act like a family member just like Iruka did to him. So being lonely is out of question.

Lastly, we know Kawaki still end up being evil because of the future that they already established. So obviously the adoption failed to keep his good side.

So, I decided to read Boruto manga myself and here's what I got:

1. Kawaki is an outsider, meaning he's not from Konoha. No one wants him. Naruto insisted to give Kawaki a chance.

2. The enemy who wanted Kawaki is an otsutsuki, hence the only person who's capable to protect him was Naruto.

3. Because of that, Naruto keep him close to him at all times, to the point he offers that Kawaki should be living with his family temporarily. He never intended to adopt Kawaki in the first place.

4. Naruto isn't as busy as he is in the movie. He's shown to spend more time with his family.

5. After spending some time together, Naruto caught feelings and calls him son. This happens when Kawaki attempted to ran away from Naruto, thinking no one would ever want him.

6. There's a theory that maybe it's Boruto that turned evil instead.

So yeah, Naruto adopting Kawaki isn't something one can easily accept just by hearing the news. Only if you read the story the adoption felt natural. What's more, Kawaki ended up loving Naruto so much.

It's not like I don't understand narusaku shippers pain, I once a taiora shipper. That took some time for me to accept sorato. On a second thought, it's more like I let go of taiora.

Aren't they so similar? Taichi-Sora-Yamato and Naruto-Sakura-Sasuke shipping war? The girls prefer the cool guy but very close to the MC. Both guys are rival and best friend. It's just Taichi's actual love interest was never shown, sadly. Thankfully, Naruto got Hinata.

Kishimoto planned naruhina since the beginning, and digimon creators also claimed the same for sorato. If I'm being honest, I still can't see sorato moments in Digimon Adventure, not until DA02.

So maybe naruhina haters felt the same. Ngl kishi is such a troll. It was like naruhina and narusaku moments interlaced each other. Instead of making naruhina solid after pain arc, kishi keep trolling with narusaku. So I can't really blame narusaku shippers.

Hence I guess some people really can't see/noticed the characters relationship development or have their own interpretation and arguments, including myself.

It wasn't even that long since Naruto became hokage, and he already lost kurama. So I guess during boruto and kawaki future fight, he either still hold that title or konohamaru already took over.

Naruto deserves to be the longest reigning hokage. Peace should be solid under his care. Even if there's fight, he should be able to fight without sacrificing anything.

Because of this I will forever insisted boruto doesn't need his own story, but they just had to squeeze more money out of the franchise. I choose to believe naruto ended with boruto movie.

Osuka looks like she came straight from shojo or mahou girls anime, especially in her casual outfit. She also gives pampered rich child vibes. 

Delta outfit colors are just chaotic. Yellow + dark green + pink + black + white. Too much colours that doesn't harmonize!

look at Code, for a cyborg that supposed to use advenced tech, he wears something like a vampire looking outfit

Not enough with Sumire, here comes Eida, more ripped off version of Hinata. Sure, Hinata don't own the haircut but Sumire uses purple colour, Hinata's signature colour! While Eida dark blue hair is very similar with Hinata hair colour. They could've pick other colours, right? And those ornaments on Eida pants tho.... Those ornaments make her and Daemon like a Christmas tree. Maybe I'm too harsh but their fashion doesn't fit the ninja universe

Meanwhile the anime characters has super bright color and monotonous. Making boruto looks like kindergarten anime

Team 15 (excluding Hanabi) is a perfect example of monotonous colours. Their design alone is ok but the colours chosen could have been better. Each of them is dominated by one colour with different hue.

My thoughts:

-people are right about the manga being better than the anime. I can say anime have fan fiction level of writing. Almost childish even.

- I'm not a fan of the artstyle but the art is steadily improving. Still disagree with how mature the girls are drawn

- I don't like manga ver outfit and character design in boruto. Their outfits looks like punk or stuck in the 90s. Boruto and kawaki curse mark too, can't say they're nice looking pattern.

- the manga started out great but I don't like when they fully accepted ninja tools. As much as the fact they're fighting cyborgs now. The way they describe otsusuki is data, download etc. Almost like otsusuki is a digimon instead of aliens

- i didn't properly watch boruto anime but i have been hating on kawaki. Reading the manga change my mind, watching him develop is heart warming and his twisted love for naruto is really something

- boruto manga is enjoyable but it's surely different than naruto. Because I grew up with naruto, maybe I can't accept many things about boruto storyline. Kurama's death, fighting cyborg, ninja tools

still got caught in the same manner
