Emerson grew up, pretty much all over the place. Born in Boston she was always following her dad who was in the military around with him. Left in barracks, shipped to different schools until her dad was stationed in the UK when she was 12 and she got to stay there for 6 years before she was dragged back to the states.
Her parents used to laugh at her, the way her head was always in the clouds, how she would always proclaim that she would live out her fantasies one day. Her two older brothers had always been so serious, she was almost a breathe of fresh air for them.
At school she always preferred to have her head stuffed in a book rather than actually speaking to people but no one seemed to mind, she was just Emerson and having her brothers in school with her helped keep any taunting at bay.
When the chance to study at Interchange came up, Emerson jumped. With her dad retired from the Army she found that she was actually bored with the same place. The same people. Limited possibilities, she wanted more and so she applied for the programme only to be accepted.
What she struggled with most was her major choice, whilst her parents had always been understanding of their daughters need to read and write they never thought she would try and actually make a living out of it. Unable to chose between the two, Emerson opted for a double major - she’s smart enough but is she focused enough was the question.
Emerson has a rather large tiktok following, none of whom know who she is, just a small little group she’s created for herself where she makes book recommendations to people and offers writing hints and tips.
In her own head, she’s already living out the plot of some romance novel, she’s just in the early chapters.
Emerson sometimes struggles to actually interact people people when her mind switches and wonders without her really meaning too.
She’s benevolent to a fault, and often doesn’t realize if someone is making fun of her.
She’s just soft? And good and a little loopy but she’s also very happy with her life and herself and she’s probably very perky to be around if you can stop her writing long enough
Emerson struggles most with feeling like she is good enough for people. She never really realised till she was away long enough but the pressure that her father put on her from a young age was enough to give her a whole bunch of issues.
Her accent changes on the regular, a little London, a lot American, pretty neutral she can be all over the place.
