An archangel will threaten him by killing him and starting the apocalypse, and Cas will go inhale the souls from Purgatory, make himself God, and then explode said archangel and his followers with a snap.

He will be injured with an angel bullet in his chest, dig that bullet out, and shove it into another angel’s eye.

He will be human, chained in a building with five other angels, and suddenly the angel who cannot lie for shit will convince another angel that he is best buds with Metatron, steal his grace, and then go kill the other angels instead of blasting them away with a sigil.

He married the djinn queen, tried to smite someone for taking too long on the phone, hid the angel tablet in his chest, killed an angel by crashing her car. Killed Billie and took on cosmic consequences like it was another Tuesday. Annoyed the Empty enough to let him go. He used the Empty deal to feed literal Death to it and squeezed out a love confession in the process.

Dean puts up a front when he is worried -> Cas doesn’t buy that shit for one second

Cas never tells anyone when he is not ok -> Dean senses it anyway

11x03 — the moment Dean chooses Cas

Dean is scared of Castiel’s condition. And you can see it in the way he touches him.

The touches are barely there — but they linger. He keeps a hand on Cas’s back after he collapses, he pulls a blanket over him, careful and slow.

It’s a rare moment of physical care from Dean. A quiet, deliberate closeness.

The Darkness can wait. Cas comes first.

And that’s what makes this scene so soft and so important — because Dean almost never shows what he feels, but here he isn’t even trying to hide how terrified he is of losing him.
