I find it interesting that people cry foul over Samquin (mid 40s + early 30s), but then people think 'barely started college' Peter should get with 'is in his early 30s' Joaquin.

"people" I don't mind either of these ships? I have no problem with Samquin in the context of the MCU (comics are a little different since JoaquĆn is 16 there and is something of a son to Sam, but this change from the comics is no different than the one made with Steve and Bucky, who were also more mentor/son than peers) or age gap ships in general, so I'm a little surprised and confused this is here. There's definitely people with double standards, I'm just not sure why that was assumed in this case. I can't speak for the OP so this is just me.
As for JoaquĆn's age, that isn't confirmed currently but if he's anything like Shang-Chi then he could be anywhere in the 20s bracket too, the MCU is crazy with the way they cast ages (Tom and Florence are an example of this). The way he acts leans more to the younger age bracket like Peter, Shuri or Kate, especially with the not really knowing old phone games like Snake (and I could be misremembering, but JoaquĆn says he grew up watching Sam as the Falcon) but it doesn't change much. As for Peter, he is in his mid-20s as of Thunderbolts/Doomsday/BND, so not really barely started college, it's odd to me that so many people still consider him barely an adult yet I also see people easily accept Shuri as an adult now (and we know why, people love babying white men while expecting poc, particularly woc, to be aged up and grown amd judged harsher.)
