embett: @ChloeBennet4 oooh yeah that's a good one! we'll have to think of something we'll actually get access to.. #noonemesseswithmymissus
Well, hi. Iām no good at introductions, but I guess I could give it a goā Iām Margot, and.. yeah, thatās all I got.
Iām like super awkward with intros as well, itās nice to know weāre not all put together and professional, ha. Itās great to meet you Margot, Iām Emily.
Yeah, that might get a little confusing - āfraid youāre just gonna have to risk it! Right, sorry. I might be a little hungryā¦maybe we can go somewhere with chicken wings or something!
Ugh, youāre so very lucky I actually like hanging out with you, otherwise Iād just avoid your slippery slope of a mind completely. Ah -- you and that stomach of yours, of course. Iām sure it wonāt be too hard to find a bar that serves hot wings.
ChloeBennet4: I tried that once but then Brett found my stash...
embett: @ChloeBennet4 sheesh that guy, we're gonna have to do something about him #stayawayfrommygirl

I feel so awful.
I got a letter from a fan today, poor thing is just inconsolable about Clara leaving the show. I hate making people sad, and these people were so loyal to me and to that dratted school teacher I brought to life.
Aw, donāt feel awful.
I know how fans can get invested and itās really touching and so veryĀ emotional -- but the character will live on forever which they can treasure forever. Youāre still you, and you need to grow and evolve just like your character. If they love you as much as your work, Iām sure theyāll support and follow you through your career. -- Ah, thatās just my two cents, I promise Iām not being nosy. Best wishes to you, though!
Just Hold On| Open Para
His eyes shot open as he sat up in bed. His chest was tight. It mirrored the same feeling of heartbreak. It was like waking up from the most perfect dream. The one he had wished to never wake up from. IT was a beautiful, sugar coated fantasy. As if it would ever happen, he shook his with a small cynical laugh. Yeah, a fantasy was all it was for him. Every chance he had to move forward, he just stood frozen. It wasnāt healthy.Ā
Stephen pulled his knees up to his chest as he stared blankly at the wall. What was wrong with him? It was just a dream. Just a dream where he had finally gotten the chance to be with the one he loved. But, he had to keep repeating to himself, it was nothing more than a dream. A dream that caused the broken star to fall further into whatever hell this was. Slowly, he turned his sights to the empty half of the bed. It was still empty. Had been for months. He closed his eyes and laid his weary head on his folded arms.
All he could think of was finding a way to numb this pain. He couldnāt bear it any longer. It was getting harder to hide behind a fake smile. A smile to help hide his loneliness. Why couldnāt he finally be able to smile for real? Make a smile last that wasnāt forced. This wasnāt much of a life for him to be living. No one knew how hard it was getting. No one could know.
Raising his head up and leaning against the head board, he opened his eyes. They filled with tears quickly. Turning to his right, he faced his one cure for this whole thing. A half drunken bottle of Jack Daniels. Without any hesitation, he took a strong grip around the neck of the bottle and twisted the lid off. Thatās when he did hesitate. Was this the best way to cover up his problems? Shaking his head, he shoved the bottle to his lips and chugged a bit back. Ā It burned, but he loved the feeling. It made him feel alive for only a moment. Thatās when he repeated the process.Ā
As he let his arm with the bottle lay down, the tears fell. It was almost ironic really. The man who plays a hero needed saving. The question was- could someone save him before it was too late? The bottle slipped from his grasps as he began to cry harder. The alcohol wasnāt cutting it anymore. It wasnāt numbing it the way it used to.Ā āFuck.ā He spat out breathlessly as the tears stained his cheeks and sheets. Itās funny that he wasnāt the one who seemed broken, but he was an actor. He was good at portraying fake things. His feelings? They were becoming the easiest yet hardest to fake.Ā
Without thinking, he took out his phone and called someone randomly.Ā āHeyā¦.I canāt be alone right nowā¦.ā He spat out through muffled sobs.Ā āI know itās late, butā¦.ā He found it getting harder to breathe.Ā āI just need someone before I do something Iāll regretā¦.ā He held the phone tight waiting for the other to respond.Ā āHello?ā
She had been on the edges of sleep; that strange time between dreaming and consciousness. A part of her was in a deep slumber and yet as her phone vibrated on her bedside table and the familiar chime of her ringtone pierced through the quiet sleepy silence, she wasnāt startled awake, but rather emerged from sleep, as if breaking the surface of the water calmly when coming up for air. It took her a moment to get her bearings.
After having been roused from being under so deep, it took her a second to realize what had woken her; before she reached for her cell blindly, without bothering to look at the caller ID. It hadnāt occurred to Emily to do so, her mind still fuzzy and acting on instinct until cognitive thinking could kick into gear.Ā ā...Hello?ā she answered, her voice raspy with sleep, unsure who could possibly be calling at such a late hour. The despairing sobs sobered Emily up quickly like a bucket of freezing cold water to the face.Ā
She frowned at first, but in the split second it took her to recognize the familiar deep resonance -- she stopped, only to hold a hand to her chest, an abyss of a well forming there; where her heart immediately dropped into darkness below. The strangled words that she clearly heard coming from him, pleading with an anguish and pain that she had never heard from him before.
It filled her with sorrow and a heartache that buried itself into her very bones. A lump had formed in her throat and any words that she may have said, disappeared, leaving her tongue blank; without a reply. It almost sounded like a completely different person, and maybe if it hadnāt been in the dead of night, and she hadnāt been talking into her phone in the pitch darkness, maybe she would have stupidly passed this off as a joke, some kind of elaborate prank of some kind. Maybe it wasnāt Stephen at all like sheād assumed, and it was someone else she knew who was going through a crisis and needed her help.
But no..she had become so familiar with the pitch of his voice, the tone of it when tethered to different emotions. There could be no doubt in her mind who was on the other end of the line and a glance at her screen confirmed it anyway. Apparently she hadnāt answered him -- again, stupid. Of course sheād come to him, sheād drop everything if that were the case. Her heart raced in her chest as she pushed the covers off of her and made her way out of her bedroom.Ā āY-Yes..Iām here Stephen. Of course -- Iām on my way, okay? Just..just hold on, Iāll be there really soon, stay there.ā
ā--Donāt..donāt do anything until I get there, okay? Please just...ā she tried not to get frantic or panic, but she cared too much to have the strength to pretend like she wasnāt affected. ā--..Iāll be there soonā, she promised before hanging up. Grabbing her keys and her coat, she headed out the door and luckily hailed a taxi within a minute.
She was on the verge of tears before she finally reached Stephenās place and knocked on the door hurriedly. āStephen..open up, itās me.ā
Emily vs Katie - my spidey senses detect a love triangle!
If there is a God, your senses are right!Ā
@embettsx @secretiveandhidingsa @kcgotitintown
āUmmmmm what?ā
āI donāt..I--.. um, yeah.ā
ChloeBennet4: Even more important. How many times have you been on set and thought 'man I could use an Advil'. Or, you know, a couple Skittles.
embett: @ChloeBennet4 they'd probably kill me if i tried to modify felicity's shoes but I guess that's what hiding places on set are for #shh #ididntsayanything
Itās Time to Talk| Stephen and Emily
There was always one thing Stephen considered being the master of. That was hiding his emotions from everyone. Even those closest to him. There were things in this world that even Amber didnāt know he was dealing with. It was why he considered it, basically, his superpower. In this world though, it was only a matter of time before it all became too much to keep. It hurt him at times that he wouldnāt open up about somethings, but he thought it was for the best. He feared what people would think of him. He feared that those closest to him would run in fear once they realized what he had been hiding. Apart of him wanted to believe they could see through the charade just so he wouldnāt have to say a thing.
It made him laugh softly to himself when he read that she was going to try and dress better. She never had to do that. To him, seeing someone wore out or nearing the brink of a break down was beautiful. It helped show who the person truly was. It was kind of ironic, huh? The man who thought beauty came from being at your worst kept playing like he was perfect and okay.
The soft smile turned bigger as he saw her appear at the door.Ā āI always try to be quick about it.ā He joked.Ā āThanks.ā Stephen uttered before moving quickly into the home, so she could close the door. Hearing that she opened him a beer, he nodded happily.Ā āThatās more than okay.ā He was never one to turn down a drink. There was a deeper reasoning behind it, but for now, he would keep that to himself. Again, it fueled his fear of rejection. The same rejection he felt by Cassandra.Ā
āSo, Em, thanks for letting me com over.ā He looked at her with eyes filled with a warmth and gratefulness that he himself couldnāt comprehend. Slowly, he made his way over to the opened beer.Ā āIām sorry that I hadnāt told you sooner about the divorce. It was justā¦ā He looked down at his feet.Ā āIt was rough you know?ā He questioned her as he picked up the beer.
She paused for a moment, his quip needed to register in her brain before her face broke into a grin, her hand quickly came up to cover her mouth and nose when she made a noise and chuckled shortly.Ā āI canāt believe you just said that,ā she replied as she dropped her hand. Emily closed the door behind him once Stephen stepped inside and nodded once in acknowledgement of his thanks. Physically, he seemed the same, same build, same posture and the usual ever lingering smile on his face. Although, upon hearing the news that he was in fact divorced from his wife and now sharing custody of his daughter, Emily took a little more notice of his appearance, the inflections in his voice; anything he wasnāt saying and looked at his usual jovial expression a little more clearly.
Suffice to say, the difference may be subtle at a mere glance or even when looking but not really..well looking -- but something...a feeling of some kind, told her he wasnāt okay. No matter what he said or how much he smiled, something inside her told her she shouldnāt take anything at face value. There were truths to be found behind the bravado he projected on the outside.
She was glad he found the beer adequate, as she had not thought to ask before she selected him something to drink. Perhaps it was because she felt like she knew him all too well by now, that decisions -- like what he preferred to eat or drink; at least for simple day time nutrition, came naturally. She supposed it was a part of working with someone for so long and so closely. Emily moved over to stand by Stephen, picked up her glass as she did so and took a small sip of her wine.
āHey, no, donāt mention it, youāre welcome over any timeā, she said softly. Her eyes shone with equal warmth and affection. As she sat back on the couch, she made herself comfortable and put her feet up, allowing Stephen the opportunity to do the same, if he wanted.Ā āYou donāt have to be sorry Stephen.. of course it was rough, I canāt imagine it not being..Iām sure it still is. You donāt ever have to apologize for something like that. -- You can tell me anything only when youāre ready to, not a minute more, ..or you donāt even have to tell me at all. What you want to share with me..thatās all up to you. I donāt have to know anything,ā she reassured gently.

That is the only logical option I see. Youāre always in VanCity. Youāre like⦠VanCity Emily!
Thatās the only option I see too! VanCity is me, I am VanCity. No, despite as advertised, I do venture out of Vancouver sometimes..I mean rarely, but still, on occasion, yes.
Either way, it was probably a dude. No sane woman would subject herself to that, just because. Good point, every dress should come with dedicated candy pockets. Um, those sound delicious - Iāll take one! Alright, I think its too cold for a beach wedding so Iāll agree to the eloping idea only if we can go to Vegas and find an Elvis to do it. I mean if youāre going to elope, you may as well do it proper, right? And instead of the wedding march, weāll have them play Hunka Hunka Burning Love - whatever that song is actually called.
You know, considering the consensus on the topic, Iād have to agree. I doubt a woman would subject every woman out there to that willingly. Itās just not possible for a woman to agree to it, for sure. Exactly, whoever finally made that happen, I wanna send them a fruit basket or something. Yes! I was hoping you would! Theyāre delish. Yes, letās have an Elvis officiate, oh my gosh, yes. Weāll both be the groom and the bride -- with like, white tutu dresses but wear bow-ties. Yeah, if weāre gonna take this leap, we should at least commit. Oooh, yeah, or maybe even Jailhouse Rock or something funky like that.
Iāll try, but if something slips, you canāt blame me. Oh, I do, I do and Iāll prove it - Iāll throw in dessert with dinner.
Just go ālalalaā or repeat the alphabet if you feel yourself slipping. Eh..yeah, I guess not, considering theyāre your thoughts after all. D-Dinner? Iām all for demonstrating appreciation, but..werenāt we going for drinks?
ChloeBennet4: @embett See! If our sneakers had pockets... ;) Feel better, boo.
embett: @ChloeBennet4 you'd be right except i'm in wardrobe shoes! but we're totes onto something with that. Thanks boo x
embett: boo migraines, where's an aspirin when you need one!

Itās Time to Talk| Stephen and Emily
Stephen had come back to Vancouver not long ago. It was a place of beauty and wonder. Something he hadnāt had in so long. Everyday being here made him a little bit stronger. It made him realize that all that had happened up to this point happened for a reason. From his marriage, to the birth of his daughter, to his divorce, and to finding all of his friends. It was like a new world for the young actor, and he was planning on seizing the moment, or as his best friend says āCarpe Omnes. Itās not only seizing the day, but Seize everything.ā or something like that. He was never good at remembering how exactly it went, but it stuck with him. Thatās what he had to keep telling himself everyday. Not only should he seize the new day, but he should seize everything and take it by the reins and run with it.Ā
As he drove down the road with the windows down and music playing, he couldnāt help, but be thankful for his friends. Especially ones like, Emily. She was always there for him. They hadnāt known each other long, but she was someone he knew he could run to if need be. Ā Thatās the one thing in this world filled with doubts and worries that he knew was true. She always knew how to make him smile or get out of his head for even a moment. He treasured that and her deeply.
On the radio, a familiar song came on. One that just made him stop for a moment. Well, that and the red light. It was that new Adele song. He caught himself slowly beginning to sing along as the light turned green.Ā āI was wondering if after all these years youād like to meetā¦.To go over everything..They say that timeās supposed to heal ya, but I aināt done much healing..ā He softly sang out as he pulled slowly into Emilyās driveway. He stopped singing and just let the words flow over him. Every lyric and verse reminded him of how it was with Cass after the divorce, but he knew he couldnāt just sit in the car and mope.Ā
Stephen removed himself from the Mustang and began walking towards the door. A soft, scared smile danced on his lips as he knocked.Ā āHey, Em. Itās me.ā He rang out in a sweeter, softer tone than normal. He stood there waiting for his friend to come to the door. @embettsx
She hadnāt known; hadnāt detected that anything was wrong. Did that make her a bad friend for not paying close enough attention? No, she didnāt believe that. After all, Stephen was always good at hiding his emotions, at least in the sense of being vulnerable in front of people. She doubted it was a pain or issue he wanted to bring any attention to. The last thing he needed was pity, at least that was her opinion. She didnāt pity him, not in the least, Emily cared deeply for Stephen not only as a co-star but as a dear friend. So his happiness meant her happiness and she didnāt think to question it. He wanted to come over and talk, and in truth she was ecstatic that he accepted her extended ear. The music was on low as she sat on her couch in grey sweatpants and a loose navy blue v-neck shirt, no make-up to speak of and her hair in messy waves.Ā
Emily hummed quietly along to the sad long notes with a faint smile on her face as she put down her phone. Although she joked about trying to look decent, she didn't bother trying to alter her appearance, perfectly comfortable with Stephen seeing her so plain and casual. After some years working on the show with him, heād seen her tired and exhausted at late shoots that ran early into the morning, and happened upon her in the make-up chair, pre make-up and before her caffeine jolt.
She was past the point of being embarrassed in front of him, at least where attire and presentation were concerned. Emily didnāt think heād be too long more, so as she waited, she fed Ophelia and opened a beer for Stephen and poured a glass of white wine for herself, set it down on the table, just as she heard a knock on the door and a familiar voice call out to her from behind it. His tone made her smile softly and chew on her bottom lip unconsciously as she opened the door to see Stephen standing there. Immediately resting against the frame, she greeted him warmly,Ā āhey, you made it in good time,ā before she opened it wider and stepped aside to allow him entry,Ā ā--come on in.ā
The music still filtered through the house from the stereo in her living room, accommodating a somber yet hopeful ambiance within the place. The sound was low enough, so as not to be distracting.Ā āI opened you a beer, I hope thatās okay --or I can get you something else.ā
