In Rings of Power S3, I want some detailed scenes of elves getting dressed so we can see how their clothes work.
You can have a detailed scene of every elf getting dressed, start to finish, in real time. Every time any named elf has a new outfit, you get to watch them putting it on. But the monkey's paw has decided that this takes up so much screentime that the plot barely advances all season, so you don't get to see anything else you might also have been looking forward to.

Come, Frodo. Walk beside me, and let your thoughts find rest
celebrían 🌼
Vingilotë is small and swift and vicious.
The swan ships of the Teleri were tall, high, gilded things, glittering with many-colored banners and lights. They shone under their lanterns like stars in the dark sea. They would be garlanded in flowers for dances, and the music had soaked into their boards and echoed out—until, they say, the very end. They had sung a spinning dance tune, high and forlorn, when they burned. It had faltered as the boards cracked and kindled, and crumbled to ash.
And Vingilotë, their kinswoman, is sleek and sharp and quiet as death. She is fair, yes, fair and graceful. She could not be otherwise, crafted as she was, beloved of Círdan the Shipwright and Eärendil the Mariner. She is fair like the neck of a heron or the edge of a knife.
She was built for a desperate, wretched journey against enchantment and the wrathful sea. She was built in fear and mourning and the cold hope of the doomed.
She is fair and bright and very small amidst the sea.
Here's my piece for the LOTR Musical Ephemera Extravaganza! It's a scarf, woven by Arwen and gifted to Frodo before he left on his journey back to the Shire after the destruction of the ring.
Did I buy a loom and teach myself how to weave for this project? Maybe, but I'd say this event gave me more of a... little nudge out of the door, seeing as I'd been wanting to learn ever since my first try at that weaving workshop back in March 🙂↕️
See below the cut for some more details about how I designed the scarf, a short fic, and a video of the weaving in progress:
Poem: Song of Hope (McKenna/Warchus)
Tune: 259 Easton (2025 revision)
Composer: Victoria Elliott, 2015
The second of my three songs for the LOTR-musical ephemera extravaganza! This one takes lyrics from Arwen's song from the musical, 'Song of Hope', in which she sings of her hope for Aragorn's return. Here, I've imagined it as a choral piece sung at their wedding, as Arwen enters the room. I love how the fugue in this tune plays with the lyrics.
Lyrics (lightly emended) under the cut:

Poem: The Road Goes On (McKenna/Warchus)
Tune: 51 Star in the East (2025 revision)
Composer: R. Herron, 1826 (alto part from Harmonia Sacra, 1866)
This is the first of three songs I've thrown together for this year's LOTR-musical-at-the-Watermill anniversary fest, aka the ephemera extravaganza! The prompt was to create something which could have been made in-universe, so in each of these, I've taken song lyrics from the musical, set them to a Sacred Harp tune, and come up with a scenario in which the characters might sing them.
These lyrics were originally sung by the Rangers of the Shire in the London production, during The Road Goes On (otherwise sung by Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin). Here, I've imagined that this is a popular Ranger walking song, reimagined by Aragorn's Ranger comrades into a choral piece to be sung at his wedding with Arwen. I'm picturing them singing it as he walks into the room for the first time.
Lyrics below the cut:
"A parchment drawing of our Lady Isilmë of Minas Ithil, holding the Palantir, depicted with the blossoming flowers of the White Tree. The beloved daughter of the Lord of Minas Ithil, she was known for her love of books, music, and scholarly pursuits than that of the courts. She had been the chosen match for Prince Eärnur, but it was not fated to be so; soon after the enemy laid siege to Minas Ithil and she was given charge to protect the Palantir. No tale now tells of her fate. This parchment was among the possessions smuggled by refugees out of the city, and one of the few depictions of her in the old style of Gondorian illuminated paintings."
- A Scholar of Minas Tirith, T.A 3012
Isilmë for @merilles for Art Fight 2026! This was all completely new to me and super experimental. It took me WAY longer than I thought it would. I played Pentiment recently and was very inspired by medieval manuscript art! I like to think this would be one of the items that Talion might find in Shadow of War...
