Screaming was normal âŚright?  Vance thought so.  At least, he thought it made sense to scream when a complete stranger ran into him.  Vance thought that he was strong, but this woman knocked into him and he hit the ground easily and laid there.  "I was in the way,â Vance decided as he responded to Elvira.  The man rolled over, hitting his stomach against the concrete before he pushed himself off the ground.  Then, he stop and pointed at the direction Elvira was looking at.  "WHAT IS THAT?  WHAT?  What?â Vanceâs voice went up in pitch as he put his hands on his head, âAm I seeing things correctly?  Is that a puppy?â  Elvira might have been looking at something different, but Vanceâs attention was on the puppy.
Elvira stared at the younger man who was screaming. She blinked a few times as he screamed and then apologized? She put her hands on her hips as he rolled over and pushed himself off the ground. "I'm not sure what that wa--," Elvira's eyes winced in annoyance. Her right eye started to twitch the more this boy spoke before she he exclaimed about a puppy. She stared at him, "How the hell are you and Harper friends?" She didn't know much about Vance, except for whenever she saw him hang out with Harper. Though, now that she was in front of Vance, she wondered how Harper didn't murder the kid - Harper had a temper worse than Elvira's and trigger finger that pulled faster than most. She shook her head, "I wasn't looking at the puppy ...," her eyes narrowed at the same spot. It was like something was there, but wasn't there at the same time. She couldn't figure it out.
