      isaac watched ellis’ hands as she signed, frowning slightly.  i hate that you feel like they’re comparing you, elli.  you’re perfect the way you are.

         there’s nothing to be scared of now that i’m here. isaac signed. what’s there to be so scared of, elli?

         did he really? that’s so cute. i’m looking forward to seeing him. isaac signed. and how have you been?

“I would have brought him today but Kaylee kind of called dibs before I could say anything. Me? I’m...dealing. I’m a little scared of being back but it’s for the best.”

“but it’s so good. but it’s hot so i’ll wait.” he said as he sat the treat back on the plate. “so how have you been? catch me up.”

“Well it’s not worth your mouth getting burnt to a crisp.” she leaned back against the pillows on the couch, sighing softly. “I’ve been good, just doing the teen mom thing. Brought everyone presents from New York so that I can buy their love. How about you? What were you doing?”

“Well… you’d definitely make it harder for the others to compete,” Sofia grinned. “Right, yeah, I knew that, someone told me that. How’ve you guys been?”

“Yes. That’ basically a ‘yes’ so I’m gonna take it!” she pumped her hands in the air before smiling. “We’re good. He’s growing up so fast it scares me.”

‘i’m not going to lie that sounds very tempting right about now considering i haven’t ate since breakfast today.”

“Then here, take one.” she smiled, cutting out a piece for the woman. 

Taylor narrowed her eyes for a second, “I won’t be mad as long as I can get a hug too.”

Ellis grinned at her little sister. “Duh. Bring it all in, Tay.”

“than you are forgiven. give me.” he smiled as he took one off the plate and bit into it only letting it fall out his mouth because it was hot. “hot, hot, hot.” he said trying to cool off his mouth. he took another bite because it was good and he didn’t care. 

Ellis started to laugh as he spit out the roll. “Careful there, cuz. Don’t burn yourself.”

“do you think that cinnamon buns can bring me those two past years back?”

“Well, I mean they’re iced so maybe.”

“Is there a Cinananam bun for me?”

“Of course, Maycee!”

        isaac sat down across from her. and how iis my main man doing?

“He’s great. Loved spending some time with his great-grandma but kept asking about you.” She smiled at him before speaking again. “He’s even learned a few more signs. He’s really excited to show you them.”

      he glared at her once more before gently mouthing i did.

El sat down before she started to sign, as well as speak. “I had to get away, Isaac. Between my name and my family, I couldn’t stay here. And Chris, he needed some time away. I’m sorry.”

“And that’s why you’re one of my favorite Shepherds,” Sofia said with a wink. “So, um, I feel… a slight obligation to ask where you’ve been. Just to make sure you weren’t, like, kidnapped by the mafia or something.”

“Would I be your absolute favorite if I said that I brought gifts?” she said hopefully as she pulled a bag out from behind her. She sighed before sitting next to Sofia. “I was living with my aunt and uncle in New York with Chris.”

axel shook his head. “i don’t know if that’s going to do it.” he said folding his arms against hi chest. he looked at the dessert. “is it hot.. freshly baked.”

“Oh come on, first Isaac, now you?” She slumped down in her chair before nodding. “Yep. Pulled ‘em out about a half hour ago.”

That sounds like something I would enjoy.
