"Embarrassed? What do I have to be embarrassed about?" Sam mutters with a smirk, yet unpin consideration that smirk falters. He looks to Elliot and clears his throat. "No, you’re fine. You can stay, Elliot. I’ve just been… Out of sorts."

Elliot looks back at Sam. "Alright. Well... What happened to your sorts?"

"Haha, so if neither of those things happen, then it’s a good day?"

"It can be a good day even if both of those things happens. It just depends on how you feel."

"Really? Okay!"

Elliot starts toward the cafeteria. "What do you wanna eat?"

"Really good! I haven't lost anything, and nobody's put anything in my hair."

"I’m not lying… why… why would I lie? That’s… that’s silly.”

"I don't know, maybe you're emabarassed." Elliot shrugs. "It's alright. You don't have to say anything. I'll go."

"I have no food. I ate my gummy bears last period."

"Okay, let's go to the caf."

"Thanks." Elliot accepts the phone and calls his own. When nobody picks up, he leaves a message. "Uh, hi. I'm Elliot. If you have my phone, my room is 2B, please give it back." Elliot hangs up and hands the phone back. "Thanks."

"You’re adorable, man."

"Oh. Uh, thanks?"

I really love Starbucks, but I saw a lot of mean customers today. I feel bad for the people who work there.

"I'm sorry. For the mean customers, I mean. Well- I guess more for the people who work there. I'm sorry about the mean customers." Elliot takes a second to make sure he's said that correctly.

"Okay... You're definitely lying."

"Stay in bed they say… I’m not staying in bed anymore. Two weeks in the fucking hospital was enough."

"I’m inclined to say bad. Dancing to a girl group’s choreography in your underwear’s usually bad."
