What? Like it's hard?

an oldie... mutual said this and i was compelled by the vision

saw a youtube short of a guy doing this with his cats that can't stop fucking beefing (i put a screenshot below) and like..... it's them. it's absolutely them.

Every now and then a difficult period like this comes along: so it's time to request some assistance.

I've kind of been neglecting my vision for the past year or so, aware that I needed new glasses (and to go have a consult for possible eye-related surgery), but putting it off... and now the situation has, as it were, come home to roost.

The other day, when I was typing something and then (to check it before posting) had to pick up the Mac and hold it up to my nose to see what I'd typed... I realized that if this went on much longer, even with dictation (because after you dictate, you still have to edit...), I wouldn't be able to write.

That would be bad.

I need to go see my Eye Lady, get examined, and get both sets of glasses re-fitted with new prescriptions. This—as usual, each time it needs to be done every year and a half or two years, due to Weird Eyes—is going to run into a low-four-figure-ish kind of money. And due to other recent unexpected medical expenses, right now there's not enough dosh around (or spondoolicks or whatever term you prefer...) to get things sorted.

Therefore: can I get people interested in keeping a writer, you know, writing (as I've got three novels working at once at the moment...), to consider doing one of these things?

(a) Go over to Ebooks Direct and buy a book. (Or a bundle. Or a gift card for somebody else who might like my work.) And if you do: thanks so much!

(b) Stop by my Ko-Fi and drop a little something in the pot. It'll be most appreciated.

1. Hawkeye also fails to leave a note goodbye, but he leaves his blue Hawaiian shirt. Trapper's yellow one is mysteriously missing. I think rather than going to Kimpo Trapper gets depressed until BJ shows up, and even then it takes awhile for him to warm up. He's a little less willing to open his heart after his best friend leaves. He cheers up when Hawkeye mails him and BJ is a good guy so they do click eventually.

2. Trapper gets so much mail. Hawkeye subscribes him to the Crabapple Courier. He sends treats and jokes. Good booze one day and a dead fish another day. Radar begs Trapper to please reign him in. Hawkeye writes as much as Peg writes B.J. At first B.J. thinks the letters and gifts are from Louise. Trapper replies with something like: my wife has much better taste. My mistress on the other hand...

3. You thought the Trapper Complex was bad. Hawkeye was the chief surgeon and no one EVER shuts up about him both socially and professionally. Even Frank will do it in his own backhanded way. The Hawkeye Complex has its own gravitational field.

Hawkeye gives Trapper the suggestion of the anniversary video which grudgingly warms BJ to him.

But expanding on that I can see Hawkeye who is SO bored and trying not to admit it going all the way to San Francisco to film it. (He DOES call and arrange thing with Peg before he shows up).

His dad: and see if hospitals are hiring.

Hawkeye: I don't need a job I have a job.

His dad: you need more job. Two gallbladders every six months isn't going to sustain you.

BJ: he was in my house??? (Torn between Hawkeye's thoughtfulness and Beej typical jealousy.)
