A monk and a punk

so like, I’m making assumptions here, but what I’m seeing are two brothers who are the only family they’ve got in the world, who took two very different paths to make it, but they’ve still got the closest relationship in the world and they love each other a lot

The cover of Save Rock and Roll features a photograph of two young boys — one wearing traditional monk robes, the other in jeans and a T-shirt, smoking a cigarette — taken by Roger Stonehouse in Burma.[24] The image was found early on in the production process as the band scoured the Internet for inspirational images. They felt the photo solidified the message of the record, “one definitely indebted to the past, but defiantly points towards the future.”[24]Summarized, the image represents old and new clashing, and tradition and change coming together.
