My completed mage, Inquisitor Lavellan costume! I wore it for 7 hours straight at a convention and only one thing broke- victory!
A year ago I set myself a goal to make this costume as screen accurate as possible and I think I did a pretty good job. I leaned a heck of a lot of new crafting things- eva foam armor, resin casting, foam carving.. etc etc. There's some things I'd do differently and I might do some upgrades slowly, we'll see! I'm resting now.

“Am I needed for something?”
“No, kid. I just wanted to check on you.” Answered Varric. He fished in his pocket and found his pipe.
“I’m fine.” Said Dia, giving him a smile. It was true, oddly enough, given the events of the day.
“U-huh. Talk to me, kid.” Said Varric. He picked a spot on the ground at her left, facing the stream like she was, and sat.
“What would you like me to say?” She asked, continuing to work on the braid.
Varric stuffed his pipe, then lit it, taking a few popping puffs to get it going.
“I don’t want you to say anything. I just thought you might want to talk.”
Chapter 15: Religion
“I want to learn. I always wanted to learn. I don’t want to just savagely throw fire around, base and instinctual.” Dia felt defensive, she did not want Solas to see her as some magic barbarian, she knew he disliked the Dalish already.
“It was not an insult, Lethallan. Quite the opposite. Elves have magic in their blood. What is unnatural is the elves who posses no magical abilities.” Explained Solas in a very calm, lilting voice.
“Oh. That’s an uncommon take. Not even the Dalish believe that we should all have magic. I think… that notion would terrify most people.” Said Dia.
“Indeed.” Solas reached out to offer the staff back to Dia. She took it, placing her hand a little distance under his hand, careful not to touch. Even as she did, she wondered what it would have been like if their hands did accidentally touch.
These are illustrations I made for my Solavellan longfic Divergent Paths. It is a work in progress, but there are 33 published chapters available already and I have a plan and ending for the fic, I won't abandon it.
Lately I've been mostly preoccupied with making the illustrations for the chapters, but I very much intend to update soon! (Unfortunately time is finite and real life gets in the way...)

The power is hot of course, but I miss that crunchy little level 2 mage.
Finishing Veilguard for the third time and I got very stuck in the sequence when Solas joins Rook in Minrathous. This still strikes me very emotionally.. every playthrough of Inquisition, after the first one, I'm very aware of the last time I can have Solas in my party and I kind of mark it wistfully. And to have him join the party again in Veilguard even briefly? My heart!
I paused a bunch and tried to get some good screenshots of him fighting. Sorry Rook, just don't die while I try to pause at the right moment..

Summary:
Solas and Theneras have made their home at The Lighthouse but all is not well. Solas is often missing in the morning and when Theneras tries to follow, spirits stop her. A conversation with the Caretaker reveals part of the problem and sends her to an unlikely destination. This entire WIP has gotten very long so I’m publishing it in sections for now. Moving forward there will be glimpses of Skyhold back when it belonged to Solas, info about how he tricked the Evanuris, angst, anger and smut. Let me know what you think in the comments - one long piece or shorter chapters.
I don't think I've posted a big thing of Druffy with its lore after I did all the rest of the fiddling with it, so here it is. Turn the sound on to hear the little tail jingle and the ear crinkles and the heart bell.
It's cotton corduroy, vintage Soviet viscose schulte and German mohair, glass button eyes, stuffed with 3 lbs. of glass beads, wool, and excelsior for the face, and tinted with thinned acrylic on the face, claws, horns, and around the joints.
Druffy appeared in Written in Red, as a bit of color to Lavellan's childhood, and then I made myself sad about it, so I made it, and then figured out a way to bring Druffy back in the story.
She would not go to sleep without carefully tucking in her beloved stuffed druffalo just right, tucked in the crook of her arm, under the blankets, but so the covers weren’t over its face. It had been lost in the explosion at the Conclave, and she’d mourned its death, quietly and privately. She’d known it was silly, to mourn a stuffed toy, in her thirties, when so many real people had died, but she hadn’t known them, and she’d known Druffy her whole life. And Druffy was a small thing to mourn, compared to the Breach and the loss of life at the Conclave, something that seemed manageable.
He took the toy from Cole, heavier than expected, and it jingled softly, slightly muffled. It was made of several shades of soft, brown fabric, slightly furry. He suspected it was woven of halla wool, a valuable commodity produced by the Dalish and frequently sold to the Nevarrans to produce a specialty fabric as an alternative to animal hides, dyed brown with walnut hulls, most likely, though there were other plants that produced a brown dye. It had little black glass button eyes and looked at him solemnly. The ears crinkled as he touched it. The materials were finer than what he would have expected from a wandering Dalish clan. It showed how important a clan’s children were to them, and not simply as a new pair of hands, to make a toy like this. They were loved, deeply, to put this much effort into something that was unnecessary for survival. He was oddly touched at this proof of how her people had cared for her.
“This is it, then,” he said. “How did you find it?”
“I didn’t,” said Cole. “It was Curiosity. I just brought it here. It’s bright, kind. It wants to make people feel better, like me. She pulls the tangles, makes them smooth. She helps. You should let her. She’ll like this, it will help her hurt.”

In my current Veilguard playthrough, I saved Minrathous for the first time and I'm really enjoying the differences. I also ended up with Neve as the new leader of the Threads and that is so fun! Rook thinks that's hot too, I'm romancing her this game.
Elek has joined the Shadow Dragons and he's got a lot of lines talking with npcs and lines for Neve and Davrin.
Taking Neve and running around the Thread market and the Thread bar produces some lines too! People greet her like, hey Boss! And Harding has a great little banter about it too. Definitely worth a little extra running around at the end to catch new lines.
Heading into the ending of Veilguard, running around seeing if I can get any more conversations. At the Shadow Dragon hideout, Dorian talked to Scout Harding 🥲
I don't think I ever thought to bring them together in the game there.. my heart..
The elves trusted that the world as it was would never change. This rubble is the legacy of that trust. Empires fall, and regimes change, Inquisitor. Do make sure you’re still standing when the dust clears.
