It’s not that things are bad for us… they’ve never really been bad, it’s just… I guess we’re not communicating as well as we did before. Maybe we just need to get a sitter and take a night out to reconnect. What do you mean ex-husband? Since when?

You’re more than welcome to drop the kids off with me and go spend some time with your wife. The girls would love having other kids in the house for a change. Since he had me served with divorce papers last week. I had no idea he was thinking about it. 

Oh my gosh babe.  I’m so sorry.  Have you talked to Chris to find out what’s going on?  You need to be on the same page when it comes to what to tell the kids.  I’m here if you need anything hun.

No, I haven’t talked to him since that day. I know I need to. The girls think he’s working. Would it be too much trouble if I asked for some company?

He wasn’t even my ex until I got served. We even had breakfast that morning as a family. 

Yeah… I guess… I don’t know… Willa and I, haven’t exactly been getting along very well lately… probably my fault but, I just don’t know..

If things aren’t going good for you two then it’s possible that’s why you’re in a bad mood all the time. You two should talk and work things out. Don’t be like your friend, my soon to be ex husband.

Take a deep breath and know that, yes it fucking sucks balls but it’ll get better and it’s just the beginning of a new chapter in your life. You still have your kids and your friends. Anyone who would treat you like doesn’t deserve to be in your life.

I wish I understood what happened. We were fine one day and the next I get divorce papers? It doesn’t add up to me, but I’m also so angry. How could he throw away all these years? I’m sorry, I’m not normally one to talk this personally, please don’t judge me off it. 

It’s 100% none of my business and without trying to come off as a pedophile… I’m good with kids if you ever, y’know, need a mom night. I can even promise relatively balanced meals and tuckered out little ones upon return.

I have a working nanny but I appreciate the offer. If anything ever changes I’ll let you know though. I really do appreciate it. 

Seriously?  He had you served in front of your kids?  That’s just uncalled for.

I don’t know if he meant to have it done in front of them but luckily I got the guy to stop talking after he said ‘you’ve been served with...’ I told him if he finished that sentence in front of my kids I’d punch him in the face. I don’t care what I’m being served with they don’t need to know about it. They’re children. Then to open the papers and see that it was from their dad...What am I going to tell them? They shouldn’t have to go through this. 

Wow… that… that’s cold of him but at least you know that divorce is very much the best option right now. Anyone who could do that is someone you really don’t want to be married too.

I didn’t even know he was thinking of divorce I feel totally blind-sighted. I don’t know what to do right now. 

You know that shitty mindset where even the smallest things become the biggest things and everything sucks? The simplest things irritate the hell out of you for absolutely no reason at all? That’s the one.

Yeah, I know that mindset. I also know that usually when every little thing is bothering you, it’s usually because something big is bothering you and you’re not dealing with it. 

The last few weeks… they’ve just been hard, I guess. Kind of gotten myself into this mindset and can’t seem to shake it.
