i like the theory that bingge straightened his hair because shen jiu thought it was messy, but honestly i felt like bingge had just straight poured all his awful unrequited feelings into trying to imitate shen jiu.
he really loves shen jiu's beautiful straight hair, copies it instead of addressing *that*. feels weird about the rumors that shen jiu spends all his time at brothels, builds a ridiculously huge harem. and obviously he emulates his cruelty, which kind of ties into the demon mentality of paying everything in kind.
the saddest part to me that he only ends up emulating shen jiu at his worst, where his actual self is most hidden. shen jiu has unkempt wavy hair as a kid, he loves and only finds comfort in the presence of women (bingge uses women for power and sex), and his cruelty is his most extreme defense mechanism. in trying to find some comfort from his shizun, all he ends up doing is getting further away from how he actually was

Yuan turns out to be the fake young master of the Ming family. By an absurd coincidence, it turns out that his real son is his classmate, Shen Jiu. At first, Yuan is a little afraid of him, expecting to be accused of embezzling property. But Jiu turns out to be a very sweet guy, albeit a bit mischievous. Jiu is happy to have a family, but the Ming parents don't reciprocate. They ignore Jiu or accuse him of every mortal sin. This terrifies Yuan. How can they be so cruel to their own son?
Yuan supports Jiu, openly showing that he likes and cares for Shen. But the bullying continues. Yuan simultaneously tries to find his real parents. And he finds them. He turns out to be the lost young master of the Shen family.
Shen Yuan proposes to the Ming family that he and Shen Jiu are engaged. Even though they don't like him (Jiu), they agree for the sake of money and kinship with the Shen family. They don't suspect that immediately after Yuan and Jiu's wedding, the Ming family will be crushed to smithereens
I think part of the reason I’m so obsessed with MXTX’s works is the way that each story seems to hold you gently as say “Your kindness mattered. It didn’t alleviate the suffering, it did not undo the pain. But your kindness mattered.”
Kindness could not erase Luo Binghe’s abuse, but it changed the story into a kinder one.
Kindness did not stop Wei Wuxian’s death, but it did save a-Yuan.
Kindness did not undo Xie Lian’s suffering, but it renewed his sincerity to help others.
Kindness did not change the entire world, but it helped create a softer future.
Its such a nice message, that maybe kindness will not protect you, maybe you don’t see the outcome of it, but you should still try to be kind, and I love that honestly.

absolutely fantastic and the most beautiful fic that accurately describe Shen Jiu getting his second chance at having a good life. Nothing compared, in fact- I would say this is the best fic of Sheng qingqiu as it have no pairing whatsoever and merely focusing on Sheng Jiu reflecting on his faults and hardships he have gone through. Life changing fic 10/10, blows my mind and forever in my heart. NO SHIP!
2. Where the Bamboo Bends, the Willow Grows, By Bananapink
(Incomplete, BUT VERY GOOD PLEASE) - Another brilliant work from the author! But this one is a crossover Svss x MDZS. im so not into crossover, but the way the Author describe the story is phenomenal and deserves a read! NO SHIP. Found family! Badass Shen jiu.
slowburn! Very VERY slow, Bingjiu fic. Warning for Bingge obviously. Set YEARS after the canon event of PIDW. shen jiu being resurrected and married Bingge. Also political fic. BAMF Shen jiu.

Turns out sj has been dealing with chronic pain his whole life thinking it was completely normal and that's one of the main reasons he's the way he is
Lqg is dumbfounded ("what do you mean it's like this *all the time*" "did you think I could just turn it off you dumb brute") and sj is equally so ("not everyone is in constant agonising pain??????")
Once they cure the wifeplot lqg immediately goes to interrogate mqf on how to fix sj's chronic pain and makes it his life mission to find a way to heal him or at the very least make it less painful
Sj has no idea how to handle his emotions relating to this and it breaks his mind a little bit
Silly SVSSS AU/fic prompt when Shen Jiu is away on mission finds baby Shen Yuan and takes him back, Shen Yuan looks like his previous self similar to Shen Jiu but not identical. So everyone is convinced he is biologically Shen Jiu's child.
The peak lords find out and freak out...only instead of assuming that the child other parent is a concubine they think it's one of the other peak lords.
Shen Jiu: I found that brat on a mission he's not mine
Qi Qingqi: So you just happened to find a abandoned newborn who looks almost just like you while away on a nine month mission
Shen Jiu: Yes
Qi Qingqi:...
Just every single peak lord looking at all the others like 'Which one of you is the other parent?' just constantly looking between Shen Yuan and other peak lords trying to find similarities.
Shen Yuan terrified thinking all the peak lords are onto him when really they're just trying to figure out which of them gets to claim him as the other parent. (Also some of them really want to court Shen Jiu and are ready to propose... they're all been trying to court him for ages 1 look at Shen Jiu being all sweet with baby Shen Yuan and suddenly the wife beam KO'd all of them)

One of the most painful thing about Madara is how he is technically right. His view of the world are rooted in his personal experience, and, despite all our effort to create a better world, we will never stop conflict. It's only human, after all.
If I believe Hashirama settled for too little, I am convinced Madara's fault was to aim farther than he could ever reach realistically. As much as I am an idealist myself, I think it's important to realise that humans have limitations and to respect that fact.
But well, Madara was a desperate man, isolation and grief made him spiral and broke him beyond repair. There is something truly tragic about him, and that's something I truly love about his character.
