I am excited to have participated in this module, Music in Motion, which was my first choice. I wanted to get involved, about things that I never realized before how to create a video with music.
Team collaboration was not a problem and of our group I am satisfied. I worked really well with Matteo and Marco; the university that I attend in Rome, many courses they want so, so I already knew that what I was getting and that therefore I should have to meet several times with the other boys. In our group we didn’t have communication problems, we living together and we were able to manage the time available to us very well. About the creation of the groups, however I am been disappointed because we are all three of graphic communication we have not had chance to experiment with other guys of different courses, as it was written in the presentation of the course. In the group everyone they worked very well, by organizing things to do; one of my fears was to not have enough knowledge of programs like After Effects and Premier Pro as before I had never used them. But thanks to the knowledge of Matteo Hrvatin on the video editing programs we have done a good job and we did not lose time. I learned a bit 'of things with him.
For the story to be realized we talked a lot together, we had different ideas so we decided to create a new one and in the end we tried to find a common point between all the different ideas that we had, which were different from each other.
I had proposed relationship with the appearance and what we have inside; an inner and outer journey of us guys. Together had conversations around that realize, having all three different styles, each of us has given up on specific things, combining our different ideas, we finally created the final story, which tells of the relationship of children with negative emotions and rebellion to them. It is a reinterpretation of the lyrics to "Goner" by Twenty One Pilots, which has been fundamental to perfectly express our idea.
Before the Christmas holidays I made the final storyboard and immediately after the tutor with Phill that he appreciated the designs and the idea, we shot the first shots that have failed due to several problems: the lights were in the wrong position therefore the shooting was too dark, the camera (Canon 550D) does not put focus on the subjects and the video quality was low. Additionally, the room we had rented, has limited us much the original idea. After the Christmas holidays, where we have not been very active, via Siso we could book the usual facilities, so we were a bit 'skeptical but we needed repeat the shoot. With the right spirit in the end they came perfect. So finally we start working on the effects and has become even more interesting. A fun part has been that of the effects to add to in the filming and the correct changes to the video, in which we dedicated ourselves all passionately. I was very satisfied and glad I could make a presentation on Keynote, citing inspiration from other videos, to show the project's sketch, effects, and fonts used, but above all to share with the rest of the class all the way.
Overall I enjoyed the process of working with the other guys in the group, we shared many ideas, constantly working together. Matteo has been fundamental for the assembly, Marco for ideas and I for the effects. I thank my whole team.
I feel that I have worked hard for this project, I learned a lot during the making but I still have much to learn. The lessons I followed eagerly I have been much help, have seen many video was important, as well as tutorials with Phill and Martin were critical and challenging for the right improvements to our video. Whatever the final vote, I am satisfied of this experience which I took part, I thank my classmates and professors who have taught me a lot.
