he betrayed pretty much everyone in town, as well as his morals. to me it just looks like he wanted an excuse to hurt people and do whatever he wanted. not to mention anything he did when he was still human

I guess but so did all the other vampires. What makes him specifically bad for switching sides when in reality he stayed on the side of the people he cared about (Shelby and drift)

His morals of being against vampires was unfounded. He hated vampires bc he thought that’s what infected him and had got to Elle. It was him realising that vampires aren’t what he made them out to be in his head that made him switch his morals up.

Him being chaotic and wanting to hurt people is probably from the ‘how you turned is how you stay forever’ when he was turned he was in almost a state of mania where everything is just go go go and fun and new and very little forethought. Before he was turned he was being hit with bouts of insatiable hunger and it stands to reason that after he was turned that didn’t go away.
