Now that ive had time to sit with it, I've noticed some neat things in this. The first two panels read more like those stories that present their backstories in murals/paintings (the pose, the colors) BUT the second one has white creeping in. The frost, or maybe loneliness? Could be the same thing i've heard both be related to the feeling of coldness. Third one is softer, but it's almost exclusively white, there's only a few things around for color if you don't look at puppy himself (which btw the detail about the ears is foul and i WILL be talking to my therapist about that/j) Reaver is covered in blood and snow. The black of the black tide creature's blood and the white of the frost settling across his body
THEN we have very cool growling Reaver. No notes about it, i just think the whole cornered beast thing is so cool. And so sad. I want to take a big ole rag to his fur and get as much of the blood out as i can cuz aint no way in hell someone's tryna bathe that. If he digs his heels in you wont even budge him!!! Unless he likes baths, then good luck getting him out to change the water
How many litters (liters?) (the measurement for volume) of purple shampoo do you think it takes to get Reaver to be whiter than the snow?

ANYWAY the panel with Phainon is so soft. The sun shining on his back, the pose, he looks every bit the savior he is. I'm not sure if it'd be solely because of Reaver's pov or he really looked that fine while saving his ass but DAMN Phainon no need to do all that just to rescue him

i spent sm time drawing these, this feels rewarding to read kajbscjk as usual spot on, im glad i could convey what i was going for. first two panels were meant to look like murals to fit the whole story thing and then its gradually losing color and growing darker and looking rougher drawn (4th) to bring out the whole "losing himself/growing more feral" thing. up until the 5th when phainon steps in and brings light and softness with him
