I am hugely behind but I've also just been kind of... disappointed, I think I like a lot of people had high hopes for this season, especially after how the last few have been, and it hasn't been what we hoped for.

She's been back to SVU so many times since she left; she'd avoided it those first few months after she'd started working at Fordham, afraid that Liv and Fin would see right through her false happiness and know how much she'd longed to be in that squad room, drinking terrible coffee and facing down the worst New York City had to offer them. Then there had been Nicky, and while her pregnacny should've had her doubling down on her desire for a nice, safe job where people weren't shooting at her, she'd missed it more, somehow.

All those times consulting on a case, dropping in. Even those joint SVU-Intelligence investigations that maybe could've been handed off but weren't because that bullpen, that precinct, that squad, was where she truly belonged.

Coming back now should be like walking back through the doors after summer vacation; it should be familiar, each step and the sounds and the faces, all just picking up where she'd left off.

She wants this as much as she's wanted anything.
