Interesting! After all, I've spent the past 9 years with this title, built the audience with this title, had the website with this title, watermarked art with this title, so I think it's safe to say it's pretty well cemented with the story.

Mst3k has its truly heartwarming moments from time to time, this is one of those.

This must look baffling and utterly ridiculous to the uninitiated, but if you watch Prince of Space, then Invasion of the Neptune Men after it, this moment actually means a lot.

Prince of Space may be goofy and idiotic, but it is a barrel of fun compared to Neptune Men, which is both cinematically and morally abhorrent (as Kevin reflected, pointing out its use of WW2 bombing footage in a kid's movie, which they had to cut out of the episode).

This skit is silly, it's wacky, yes, but I think it was genuinely very sweet. As an episode, Neptune Men is hilarious with fantastic riffs, but it does go to some dark places (it's just a show, I should really just relax). But this sketch, to me, is a reminder of the show's use of humor to heal real trauma.
