He growled when Dante grabbed his shoulder and shrugged the hold off, turning as more men with sneers on their faces stepped from the shadows. "We're here for you Kaplin!" The one holding the frightened girl sneered, Dustin's concern growing as the girl started going limp.
"Let her go!" he snarled at the man, who ignored him as he stared at Dante with an ugly look on his face.
"Didn't think the rumours of you going soft were true." the man says with a curl to his lip. He jerks his head and Dustin lets out another growl when the four other men advance. He feels Dante press to his back and is surprised when his friend slips a knife into his hand.
"We'll have to talk about this later." Dustin gripes, shifting his grip on the knife as one of the men swings clumsily at his head. He ducks it and swings up with the knife, perfectly sharp blade familiar in his hand as it cuts deep into muscle and lodges in bone.
"This is what you use my knives for?" he snipes amusedly at his friend, Dante only laughing as his foot impacts with the stomach of one of the fools attacking them.
"What can I say, your shit is the best. That says something about how shitty the rest of the world is." Dante snipes back, laughing at the frustrated looks of the men who have fallen back.
"Stop treating this like nothing!" the man holding the limp girl screeches, just before her head hits his nose.
Dustin doesn't remember the sound he makes as her neck snaps, but he does remember gasping in surprise as something sharp buries into his chest.
"DUSTIN!"
