What Lies Beyond? What's that?
It's the title of my upcoming fic! It's an Oumota post-canon fic where the killing game was a virtual reality game!
What can I expect?
Main characters: Kokichi Ouma (also the protag), Kaito Momota
Key characters: Maki Harukawa, Miu Iruma, Gonta Gokuhara
Notable characters: Shuichi Saihara, D.I.C.E. members (while these characters will appear frequently, they won't get as much focus as the others)
Key characters in the fic coming to terms with their actions/what happened to them in the killing game

It's not beta read, at least not to begin with. That may change in the future though!
Hostility between Maki and Kokichi. I will be doing my absolute best to avoid character bashing, but something to keep in mind is that since Kokichi will be the protagonist, Maki will inevitably have an antagonistic role
Custom, human made art from another artist and a cover I'll be making myself
No AI generation
Semi-regular updates, at the very least once a month unless other projects come up (i.e holiday fics). I plan to write one chapter and/or a holiday-themed oneshot once a month at least
No backlog, I get too excited after finishing a fic or chapter and want to post it right away lol. Only exception will be this first chapter because of the art
When can I expect this fic to release? Sometime in February 2026, mid March at the latest! The first chapter is almost finished, but the custom art will take time and I won't be rushing the other artist I plan to work with. Valentine's Day 2026 will not affect the fic's release, but due to Chapter 1
Where will this be posted? How many chapters? Word count average? On AO3! You can find me over there under the same name (elasticlibrarianmatrix)! I'm not sure how many chapters there will be exactly, maybe around 15 chapters, give or take? This is a rough estimation, and may be subject to change My average goal will at least be 1k words per chapter. I hope to increase that goal over time, but to start with, I think that's a reasonable goal
Is there any other bonus stuff? Yes! I have a playlist that helps me get into the right state for writing this fic. It's just that, a playlist to help me focus on the fic and its plot points, so it should not be taken as gospel
Who is the other artist? My brother, Tin! I've known him for most of my life, cause I'm older than him, and I know for a fact that he doesn't use AI. Plus, he's just a really skilled artist. I've commissioned him in the past, and while the commission can't start until next week due to my own personal financial status right now, I can say that he's a wonderful artist to work with Here's his links:
