childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who wishes you would treat him the same way you treat izuku. you checking in on him more than he likes.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who secretly just wants to spend alone time with you, doesn’t matter what you're doing. it brings him a comfort of nostalgia, a piece of his childhood that hasn’t grown on him yet.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who always makes ‘too much’ of your favorite food and ends up having just enough leftovers for you to eat.

but when you see the cooking pot, that was the only portion.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who gets nervous and mumbles excuses when you point it out. “tch. that old hag…”

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who holds in his anger when you slap his head for calling his mom (your aunt) an old hag. just like she taught you to in this exact situation.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou will refuse to ask for affection from you. he knows what he wants so he takes it whenever he wants.

growing up together, there was not much communication between you two due to you being too shy and him not wanting to make you cry. so it’s just always been that way.

he understands when he’s pushing things and when he’s not pushing hard enough just because of how long he's known you.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who just grabs your hand by instinct now. crossing fingers with you; praying you don’t think his hands are too sweaty.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who only feels comfortable sleeping in his subtle all might pjs around you because he knows even more embarrassing things about you.

he ‘wouldn’t hesitate to tell everyone your secrets if you tell anyone.’

but deep down you know that he wouldn’t do that to you.

he might be a bit mean but he’s not cruel.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who always ends up cuddling you while sleeping over.

his excuse is always ‘that you take up the whole blanket’ and as a pay back is needing to ‘borrow your body heat’

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who wakes up and if not already immediately spoons you because he already knows your morning breath sinks him 6 feet under. doing this makes it easier for him to not pass away at such an early age, and gives another excuse to feel your soft breathing and heartbeat so close to him.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who kisses your forehead before you wake up. he would be extremely embarrassed if you ever found out about this.

jokes on him, you already knew. he wasn’t very sneaky as a kid and would make a loud ‘MWA!’ sound.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who is equally as confused as you as to why he felt different about you than others. caring, nonconfrontational you.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who gets flustered easily when you say things that make his heart flutter.

in junior high, you and his friends were playing spin the bottle. he didn’t want to play because it’s a ‘stupid idea!’ and ‘kissing just gets in the way of becoming a real hero!’ but his friends convinced him by calling him weak. telling him he’s a wimp who’s too scared of kissing women.

they wanted to tease and embarrass him. so, they rigged the game by adding a magnet.

when he realized the bottle stopped in your direction, his heart stopped. would you hate him? would this ruin your friendship?

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou ‘s heart can’t take it when you kiss him so easily for the first time. both of your lips perfectly formed around each other. it’s almost like you have been kissing him since you knew him. you felt soft, warm, sweet, all in one. why do you make him feel this way? how cruel do you have to be?

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who yearns for another kiss, even though he continuously gets to kiss you on the forehead. but where’s the love in that? all unrequited kisses.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who finds himself struggling not to kiss you when you help fix his hair after best jeanist brushed it down. your face was so close just like the day you gave him his first kiss.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who doesn’t know what to say when ‘i’ve known that brat my whole life’ doesn’t work and he has to actually put a label onto it.

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who’s face lights up bright red when you're in the same situation and just say “katsuki is mine.” what does mine mean to you?

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who finally gets you alone again and finds the courage to quietly ask, “what are we?”

childhoodbestfriend!bakugou who’s heart skips a beat when you say “i’m your’s, and you're mine. that’s how it’s always been?”

he leans in to kiss you. he can’t wait any longer after not being able to sleep so many nights about your lips. “you're such a witch. makin’ me all mushy n shit.”

but when he turns around, he has the biggest grin on his face. finally confirming what he’s wanted to hear for so long.

now when people ask him about your relationship, he doesn’t hesitate to be possessive about you. just like he’s always wanted.

“mr.dynamight, any plans after this patrol is over?!”

he glares at the camera, shoving the lens right out of his face. “tsk—! fuck off, you money hungry extras! it’s none of your—”

the blonde pauses mid-rant, catching everyone off guard as he suddenly leans down.

“—actually, give me this crap!”

he grabs ahold of the no doubt expensive ass camera, essentially blogging on national television in an unfaltering angle zoomed right into his nostrils.

“i know yur’ ass is watching this, y/n, so answer your god damn phone already!!” he shouts, unknowingly becoming a worldwide meme the literal next day.

everyone’s jaws drop as the cameraman scrambles to catch the equipment bakugo tossed back like nothing.

“mr.dynamight, please elaborate! who is this y/n you speak of?!” they exclaim, mics quickly shoved into his face as the paparazzi lights began flashing for the latest hero gossip in town.

“hah?” he scoffs back, frowning like the answer is completely obvious—and like their the idiots for even asking such a thing. “my wife.”

He doesn’t like them, he hated them as a child and he hates them at 25. People that just approach him with a hug always gets the worst end of it. Anybody (parents included) that came to him for a hug gets cursed the hell out and/or blasted off with his explosive hand.

However.

When you’re in his bedroom and he sees you you’re immediately enveloped by some huge, warmed, scarred up limbs to hold you captive.

“Uh hello to you too.” You respond with a monotone, completely unfazed since this is nearly a daily routine since you let him start coming over your place more often. I mean it was bound to happen he has done everything but verbally stated he lives with you now since most of his clothes, costumes, and groceries stay with you.

Bakugo embraces your natural scent for a moment, it’s warm, comfortable, safe, like home to him.

and Bakugo his body was extremely comforting, like laying right beside a fireplace on a snowy night, he smelled of his natural musk and mint, and his breathing against your neck felt nice. Calming almost.

You just half smile when you do your lipgloss in the mirror glancing at his hands rubbing your hips and tummy. His presence was always so invasive, as if he knew nothing of personal space after screaming about it for years to his own peers.

With you though he knows no such thing.

“Hungry?” You snap your lipgloss shut, giving one last lip smack at your reflection to turn and face him, he rises up a little and looks down at you, eyes tired and droopy, still frowning with his bottom lip sticking out further than usual. You kiss it and he immediately retracts back into your neck for a tight hug.”H-hey big boy…” You giggle at his clinginess.

“Wanna order out? Or i can cook—“

“Shut up.”

“Uh excuse you.”

He grumbles and grabs your arms to wrap around his wide back, he’s so big your finger tips just barely touch each other around him, “Let me finish first….please.”

You had a mind to talk back, but you could feel his heart racing the tighter he gripped you, and the tone of his voice sounded weak…he really needed this hug despite not telling you why.

Bakugo has his days, and today was one of them, a day where he didn’t want anybody or anything, but your embrace. He still has a lot to learn about himself, such as why your presence relaxes him even though you still find a way to make him annoyed, but that’s for another day.

“Having trouble, bridgeboy?” Adolin asked, trotting up. Kaladin glanced at the princeling. Stormfather, but it was difficult not to feel tiny when riding beside that monster of Adolin’s. Kaladin tried to kick his horse faster. She kept clopping along at her one speed, walking around the circle here that was a kind of running track for horses. “Spray might have been fast during her youth,” Adolin said, nodding at Kaladin’s mount, “but that was fifteen years ago. I’m surprised she’s still around, honestly, but she seems perfectly suited for training children. And bridgemen.”

I've just finished Wind and Truth and am having the Very Normal Reaction (TM) of drawing Kaladin and Adolin back from Words of Radiance.

Very happy with the way the watercolour effect plays into some more realism in this one! I’ve put together a mini brushset of what I used for this piece; check it out here!
