I haven't seen this level of gaslighting and violence since oct 8 to the point where it's having a real effect on my mental health. Especially zionist jews, so many of y'all are no better than the people you criticise. Good to remember that collective solidarity doesn’t exist and that most people are hateful and full of shit
“Beyond a given point [we are] not helped by more “knowing,” but only by living and doing in a partly self-forgetful way. As Goethe put it, we must plunge into experience and then reflect on the meaning of it. All reflection and no plunging drives us mad; all plunging and no reflection, and we are brutes.”

People love to talk about war crimes but would be surprised by what is actually allowed under the laws of war that’s still kinda fucked up or violent.
Like, hospitals lose their protected status if they interfere or participate directly *or indirectly* in military operations/armed conflict.
Like if they’re used to store weapons for one of the parties involved, or are used as a recon/intel gathering site, or are used to launch an attack. The other party should still be doing its utmost to protect and avoid harm to civilians and medical staff, but the otherwise protected status of the hospital is lost.
Also, civilian and medical/journalist personnel are not protected if they participate or interfere in military operations/armed combat, for similar reasons.
"War crime" has no meaning (outside law). ppl who use the term aren't referring to whether or not something is allowed under IHL; it's just shorthand for "something really horrible"
It was only a proxy if you're mentally ill and whitewashing Spain's and Argentina's own histories.
Can we PLEASE stop saying that “nobody spoke Hebrew for thousands of years”?? Can we stop saying it completely vanished???? This mindset feeds into antizionist “modern Hebrew is a fake invented language” nonsense, Christianity wanting to appropriate Hebrew from us, weird new age internet pagans treating it as a “spooky mystical secret” language, and the idea that Jewish diaspora carved us into several peoples as opposed to one. Hebrew was spoken by Jews throughout the entirety of our exile. Hebrew was a Jewish lingua Franca. Hebrew is the language our sacred texts are in. Hebrew was a language medieval Jewish poets wrote in. Hebrew is the language we’ve prayed in, while facing Jerusalem, in the land that language comes from, for thousands of years. Diasporic Jewish languages only exist because of Hebrew. Because Hebrew is a language we spoke.
My family was expelled from Lithuania during pogroms in the early 1900s. They were part of an Ashkenazi subgroup called Litvaks or Lita’im. After that, nearly 90% of the surviving community was wiped out during the Shoah. Some years ago my grandfather returned to the Litvak community where our family used to live to see that the entire village had been leveled. What was once homes, businesses, and playgrounds was turned to dust and a rusty memorial plaque hanging off the hinges that read in Lithuanian, “Jews once lived here.” So I’m learning Lithuanian and Yiddish and Hebrew because what else can I do? This story has been told over and over and it will be told over and over again, in different times and different places. What else can we do?

maybe i’m crazy but i’m not actually convinced you care about human dignity and inalienable rights if your outlook on the world is primarily about who should die and suffer

“When you stir your rice pudding, Septimus, the spoonful of jam spreads itself round making red trails like the picture of a meteor in my astronomical atlas. But if you stir backwards, the jam will not come together again. Indeed, the pudding does not notice and continues to turn pink just as before. Do you think this is odd?”
― Tom Stoppard, Arcadia
