Recently bought Mary Shelly's Frankenstein from Penguin Classics. I've spent the last few days reading-I haven't finished it yet so my opinion may change in the future-but it leads me to conclude that Victor Frankenstein may be the most slandered horror character in existence. The Frankenstein movies and the various adaptations do this man no justice and make him out to be this grand villain when he's in reality just a selfish, arrogant pos who's not even a true adult yet. Not only that, they take away most of his guilt and redeeming qualities.

Also the saying "Knowledge is knowing Frankenstein isn't the monster, Wisdom is knowing Frankenstein is the real monster." is bullshit so far. Both are monsters. Frankenstein's monster just happens to be a victim that continued the cycle of abuse. Do people forget he killed people for being related to Victor???

Anyways, like I said my opinion may change from finishing the book but Victor Frankenstein deserves a better rep than he has now and for someone to finally show his actual good traits on screen.
