Modern Playing Cards by awnen This is an idea that I’ve been experimenting with recently so it is essentially still a work in progress. The plan is to create a complete deck of playing cards where the court cards are based on modern stereotypes that are linked in some way to the 4 suit names. I did actually complete a full deck years ago but I’m in the process of reworking them so that they’re more in line with my current style. So this is Clubs to begin with. Initially I wanted to limit myself to one colour for these, in addition to black and white, but I might look at the colour palette again to give them a bit more punch.

I hope this isn’t spamming you guys too much - one of my design buddies just went live with his own kickstarter, and it’s more birds!  You can’t really have enough bird decks, right?  The entire thing was made by paper cutting, a fascinating and difficult looking art form.  Give it a look, there’s still some early bird decks left!
