Misawa day theme: development “What kind of flower have I turned into, senpai?”

I’ve been really thinking… Is there a fic that exists wherein:

Miyuki takes Sawamura for granted. Like he just always believed that Sawamura will just always choose him above anyone else. And then Okumura just suddenly pops into their life. Unannounced. Then he later notices that Sawamura is starting to spend more and more time with Okumura. That Sawamura never asks him to catch for him anymore. But it can’t be helped since he needs to catch for Furuya more. Then one day while Miyuki was heading for Sawamura’s room to invite him to practice his pitches with him, Miyuki sees Sawamura leave his room. He calls out to him but then Okumura also leaves Sawamura’s room and the two looked so happy discussing whatever with each other.

to me this was such an important panel, if not the most important in the whole chapter, and i can only hope that people won’t walk away from it with the wrong message just because eijun’s clearly frustrated about it, because it actually shows so much maturity in eijun’s character. 

the scene build-up has eijun flashbacking to times the ace was trusted over him, questioning whether he as a relief would’ve been trusted to that point in the same situation and he’s explicitly frustrated. it’s a very natural reaction to feel frustrated here, especially when it’s about rivals with the same goals, the same passion, same greed. a very human reaction, and i’d have found it weird as hell if eijun would’ve been without it. what’s very interesting and mature about his reaction though, is how clearly he understands the heart of the situation. 

i’ve already mentioned it before that i can’t see eijun faulting kataoka or even furuya for the tight spot they are in, and this is here what i’ve meant. it’s not personal. it’s not about kataoka favoring furuya over him, or furuya as a person getting bias going for him – it’s about baseball dynamics withing and outside of the team, the “numbers on their backs”, about the ace position and all the connotations it carries in the japanese high school baseball scene. 

real talk: this is how it actually is; it’s not a manga thing, a shounen trope, a plot device. the ace position is legit regarded with a different weight by both of its own team and the opponent. the position, the number is a pillar that can’t be overlooked, the presence alone carries a huge psychological influence on the field. and usually coaches aim to build their team around that (which is also why kataoka’s relay approach and past refusal of “sacrificing the team” for polishing a single player into the position can be seen as unusual, ochiai wasn’t being an ass for no reason that time he brought the issue up.) and while kataoka is unlike many coaches who majorly push the ace agenda, it’s not like he can ignore all the weight and influence of it either. he does want a strong ace, he does rely on the ace to influence the game, we’ve seen it happen with tanba too.

Just imagine when he thirst for blood, he will start to beg, his breathing become heavier, and his cheeks will turn red. While Miyuki is a young master from a rich household. After Sawamura saved him from a bunch of thieves and delinquents, Miyuki decided to take him as his personal bodyguard and he let Sawamura to drink his blood. 

Though, when Miyuki grew up, they start to attract to each other, to the point he will let Sawamura drink his blood only when they are doing sex. Because he realized Sawamura thirst is becoming uncontrollable lately (he sucks him dry), and with him beneath his body, Miyuki thinks he can suppress it by pleasuring him. _(°ω°｣ ∠)_
