i feel like discord is a great place to do fast paced interactions but i dread rps that are solely on discord (and rarely join them anymore for this reason) because they often don't involve as much writing beyond text messages, musings, and ooc chats (and obviously it would be different because there is no texting in this rp but i think the point still stands that discord rps in my experience do not have the same amount of writing)

i think something you could incorporate for the faster paced discord group threads is implementing discord’s slow mode feature. so after one person writes something, they have to wait x amount of time before writing something else. idk if that would work because i was not in the group (and i also don’t know how it works with things like tupperbox) but it’s worth a shot if you think it could be useful!

i am not the anon you are speaking to however i have been listening and honestly i don’t see why you’d need dnd dynamics for a group like this and that isn’t to be rude ! tbh i have only ever seen dnd dynamics in groups where muses have the possibility of death or grave injury ( spies , horror , etc ) or where they’re doing missions or trying to achieve some sort of overarching goal ? for a casual group like this i don’t think it’s entirely necessary and it would probably be just as engaging without that element ! just imo ofc like if there’s something you want to take out to make things less busy i’d say it should probably be that but that’s up to you !

if you think people are getting a little tired of the plot without game mechanics, why not revamp the plot a bit? you could set it in the 90s this time instead of the 80s or introduce a horror element, an adventure element, etc.

this roleplay seems fun but i would prefer it without dice rolls and a point system! in my experience with those types of roleplays, it's always a bit overcomplicated and as a writer, i prefer to have more control over my character and my plots instead of leaving it all up to chance.

I wonder if you could opt for it being completely on discord? still have it be para focused like itd be on tumblr, but all in one place so its easier to do interactions, and the dnd mechanics. I also think interactive elements like that are always easier to managed in discord and more expected in discord based groups.

hiii me again who left the really long feedback anon before!!! if it were up to me and this was my group (which it's not bc it came from your beautiful brain and not mine but...) i'd probably incorporate want to incorporate the dice roll/dnd style mechanics but leave out the fast-paced group threads that can potentially be missed out on by people purely bc they can't be around and maybe you could still have it be hybrid but walkie talkie threads only on discord and all other interactions on the dash. but i know a lot of people like them though so in reality i think what might be a good compromise is this: still have group & event threads on discord, but each time one is happening, maybe make a rule that someone who's already just replied can't write another reply until everyone who has opted to be in the thread has had the chance to write one back? so like person A writes their interaction in the thread ... they can't write their next interaction til person B, C, D and E have all had the chance to do so too and then it can just go in that same order! i know this sounds really nitpicky and specific but i'm only focusing on this purely bc the thing that made me become overwhelmed with the group was how fast the group/event threads moved when i wasn't around. kinda like fomo 😭 but yeah a definite is that i'd go for more of a dashboard heavy focus than discord bc i feel like people neglect the dash for the server in every hybrid group i've ever been in

maybe if you actually put an effort into revamping the group instead of recycling the same skeletons and plot and character it would actually last

hey! i was a member of the group for a period and thought the dice rolls/dnd type elements etc were a really fun concept, but in practice it was a bit overwhelming maybe? there was *a lot* going on with the 'game mechanics' so to speak which i feel like people sometimes struggle with, there were group threads which i know were time-sensitive because you had to try to get your character's input in before the scene moved on and i'll be honest that was a little hard for me when i sometimes only have 1 hr or less to commit to rp per day and you could potentially miss the bulk of a group thread without your character's input bc of timezones/having lower activity than others. i also felt like a lot of writing happened on discord which took away from what was supposed to be happening on the dash? i just think it was too much maybe... i would say if the group just incorporated *one* of those things (dice roll mechanics, fast paced group threads, hybrid style of having discord interactions as well as tumblr instead of just single platform) it would be better rather than overambitiously trying to include all of them? bc it pushes out people who don't have as much time to commit to rp or who find too many different elements going on to be overwhelming. BUT that's just me, you could always target the group specifically towards only people who have the time/energy to commit to daily activity & daily contributions rather than people who are on the lower end of activity -- your group doesn't **have** to appeal to everyone but unfortunately it wouldn't appeal to me if it incorporated all of the additional elements on top of just plotting and writing threads. also i love u and i always love ur groups. have a great day <33
