So! Joomer was my very first follower in Cult of the Lamb! He was also, unfortunately, my first Dissenter. I didn't have the jail at the time, so he ran away with a bunch of my money.
This would've been a completely normal follower story, if not for something that happened on day 148 of my playthrough, a good 20 or more hours after he initially ran off.
During a crusade in Silk Cradle, Joomer showed up.
He did successfully kill me, but by that point I'd gotten the ability to sacrifice a follower to continue onward.
So the Lamb rose from the ashes, and killed him.
I then revived him, and now he's one of my disciples.
The thing is, Joomer ran away around day 10 of my playthrough. The fact he showed up over 130 days later, when most followers would have died after 50 days, meant that, in my mind, Joomer effectively became immortal for the sole purpose of killing the Lamb.
And when he finally felled the false prophet, it didn't stick. For you cannot kill a God of Death.
As it stands, Joomer is a follower who escaped and became a preferred cultist of Shamura over his decades in the wilderness of Silk Cradle. He's being kept in the Flock against his will by the Lamb, who trusts that he won't do something as foolish as run away again. They even made him a disciple, sat him at their right hand. The Lamb knows he won't betray them. He's seen what they can do. He'll spend the rest of his immortal life sitting right next to them, paralyzed by his own fear and unable to ever leave.
At least, that's what the Lamb thinks.
